This hotel is located in a Spanish colonial building that served as a boarding house for newly arrived Spaniards coming to Nueva Espana in the 1700s. Our room had 15' high ceilings and huge windows overlooking the street below. The bathroom was larger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in! While the amenities are very basic (weak wifi, old keys, flat pillows), the experience of staying in such a classic building outweighed any negatives. In addition, the price was very good. Highly recommended for more adventurous travelers who aren't so picky about modern-day conveniences.

Graciella is a master of the front desk. She will get you where you need to go. Food, sights, history, just ask. Room was always clean, staff is fantastic. Feels like a place you can live forever!

A block away from Cathedral and city center.

Rooms and patio are GORGEOUS. Clean and historic. Problems are 1) on a very loud street 2) Beds are way too soft

Beautiful, very large, charming rooms. Excellent value. Great location. On the downside it was noisy outside at night (maybe due to time of year) and the room has no AC or fan. There is no elevator so if that is an issue for the traveler, they should be aware. The staff go out of their way to greet and assist the guests.

Amazing, this hotel is perfect and full of old charm. I think next time i will book for at least 10 days...this hotel helped me fall in love with Puebla and i cant wait to return...i do wish the rooms where all listed on the hotels site so you knew which one you were actually getting so do your homework or call ahead

This hotel is for the traveler who wants to have a taste of the traditional architecture and the flavor of the old city in their living situation. The rooms are large, comfortable and full of character. The hotel has all the problems of a 300 year old property, but the staff is committed to keeping the hotel in good order. If you want to have an experience that is just like any other chain hotel go somewhere else. But if you want a real Puebla location this is it.

We were really looking forward to staying at the hotel because of its location to the city centro and it’s quaint appearance in photos. The room itself was fine. We loved the wood floors and the beautiful windows. The rooms do get hot but you can open the terrace doors. This might become a problem when sleeping because of street noise. It didn’t bother me. The bedspread was dark and had a hole in it and I wondered if it is ever washed but the sheets and towels were clean.
Ok. Now for the poor rating. The toilet barely flushed. This created a big problem with 3 people sharing a bathroom. The shower pressure was low, which I would expect in an old building but this was ridiculous! It was hard to even wash your face in let alone try to wash thick hair in. We could plainly hear the next door bathroom shower and it didn’t sound like it had the pressure problems ours had. We could also hear their conversations as if they were in our room. There was a gap in a wall that allowed you to see into the next door bathroom. Also, a bedroom lamp did not work. Unfortunately we found the conditions unacceptable after 2 nights of this. We were prepaid 7 days and contacted Expedia about the issues as well as the hotel. They were unwilling to refund any money for the 5 nights we stayed somewhere else despite our complaints. I understand they were following a policy I agreed to but I also agreed to pay for facilities that would at least be usable. May the water issues were just in our room?

Hotel Casa de la Palma is a beautiful colonial hotel located very close to the zócalo and museums in the city of Puebla. I had a lovely room with a balcony, high ceilings, tiled floors and even a stain glass window in my bedroom. There is a complimentary breakfast as well. I would definitely stay here again and recommended it to my friends if they're interested in staying in the city of Puebla.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Large rooms! Beds are very firm. Hot water takes a few minutes to get going but all is fine afterwards. Breakfast is good! Yvette is amazing! So helpful!

A Luxury rustic convent very well restored, great restaurant, pretty garden courtyards, a street parade we joined in (mid dec) and poolside fun. In middle of town but very quiet rooms. Comfortable beds not hard or too soft, just right. Needed a few days longer!

Three night stay in this centrally located historic hotel turned out to be an excellent choice. The staff was helpful in providing information, purchasing bus tickets, calling taxis and arranging tours. It is located on a corner of quiet streets but is only located a couple blocks from the Central Square. Our room was elegant but only opened up to the center courtyard, so if you want a room with windows to the outside, you need to ask. Breakfast is basic, but cooked to order.

Let me get this straight. I booked because of the reviews. This time I did wrong to go with the reviews. I stood 3 nights and it was the worst experience from my past hotel bookings. I spend 3 nights a week in Puebla for work and usually I´m not picky. I bring it to the point: No water (and if then drops of cold water), terribly hot in the room because no windows and no fresh air to catch, shampoo and towels were not replaced. Breakfast is supposed to start at 8 a.m. but if the cook needs to be on the reception desk then it starts later or the waiting time for coffee etc. extends extremely. I do not recommend this for families. Important to mention: I booked the Governor Suite to avoid surprises but was very disappointed after. Puebla has to offer much better places for this price range.

We love to stay in this beautiful Historic Hotel very close to the zocala of Puebla. The rooms are very large with high ceilings and antique furnishings. The beds are comfortable and the wifi works well. We have always been able to park right outside the door, very convenient for unloading luggage. This hotel is dog friendly and they don't mind big dogs. Everything in the hotel beautiful, many paintings and statues and the people at the front desk speak English and are very helpful. Only negative is lack of elevator but when this property was built they didn't have them. One of my favourite hotels on our Mexico trip.

Hotel is located in the heart of Puebla's Historical Center. It's a beautiful colonial building, but rooms are dusty, they smell bad, beds are uncomfortable, old and smelly pillow cases and bed sheets. In the bathroom, the shower head just sprinkled water all over the place, you have to flush more than twice because the tolilet doesn't work well. On the other hand staff, especially female staff were great! Super helpful and friendly. Great free breakfast. Overall, hotel could be much much better if management would spend a few pesos fixing and renovating stuff.

It was raining and as I lay down to sleep water started dripping on my head. It was a hard rain so I do not fault the hotel. They upgraded me to a larger room. The problem was that in packing so quickly to change rooms I forgot my bathing suit in the leaky room bathroom. I went to tell the guy at the front desk that I needed to go back. My Spanish isn't the best and he was frustrated. He acted like I was a complete idiot. He made me feel like it was all my fault and I wanted to go back into the old room and steal something. Was too bad as it was a nice hotel and the food was great. I speak two other languages but it's unfortunate that this guy thought I was a thief and moron.

The Hotel is conveniently located in the historic district within 5 walking minutes from the Zocalo, the central Plaza.
The whole historic district can be walked from there within about half an hour. There are two parts of the hotel so make sure you choose the more expensive one for better rooms.
The rooms, called suites, are very spacious, decorated with antique furniture. the bathrooms are furnished simple but functional. After all it is a very old building. Room and bathroom were very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful, with some knowledge of the English language. Included breakfast was simple but satisfying. There are some parking spaces in front of the hotel in case you have a car.
There was some noise during the night from the street, especially on the weekend, so sleep quality was somehow affected, but you are in the center of the city after all.
In any case, Puebla was worth a trip. Don't miss the ruins of Cholula and Tlaxcalla area.

This Hotel was ok, it has a very convenience location which made our trip easy, some noise during day time, but quiet at night. Overall, I do recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff members. and their service were without a doubt excellent. They made every effort to be helpful on every occasion. The room was beautiful. It had an old world beauty that was very Europeon, but completly Mexican in its charm and feel. The location was perfecty situated. This made it very easy to walk everywhere. The popular location also made the noise level a little higher on the weekend.
