Rafters was so easy to check in and the young lady checking us in was so sweet and friendly. The accommodations were so cute and comfortable. Gerry and his wife were wonderful. He allowed us to hold our luggage downstairs and was delightful to visit with. The bar was beautiful
and the lunch and breakfast was delicious. Saying again the rooms were precious and I didn’t hear any road noise with the window open.
Clean rooms and comfortable beds. The location was perfect for walking to castle and pubs. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Great location in the centre of the town, rooms basic but well kept and clean. Good breakfast in the morning.

Comfortable enough room, I stayed in no 3 - didn’t hear much noise during the night but it was mid week . no bottles of water in the room- bathroom bin wasn’t emptied of tissues from the previous guest, shower had a poor out flow - ages to get hot - never got really hot either - light coming from an upstairs restaurant outside my window and people could walk past my window in an alley from a side door- curtains seemed thin - I did need 2 nights but I was glad after I only booked one night there - good breakfast in the morning though - friendly staff at check in and at breakfast next morning. Breakfast was good.

Arrived at 11pm and the place was closed and lights off. My confirmation said check in closed at 11.30pm. Tried knocking and ringing but no answer. Luckily hotels.com were helpful in relocating us else I’d have had no where to stay overnight.

We loved our stay here! Great dinner and breakfast, we got to enjoy live music, and the staff is so friendly. Comfy room upstairs too. Would definitely stay here again.

Parking was a frustrating challenge, but once that was completed getting checked in was a breeze. Be prepared for carrying bags and ascending stairs to, what are comfortable and very functional rooms. As we are in a pub district there’s a bit of the associated sounds, which was not objectionable but rather nice. This would definitely be a spot to return back too, though I pick or ask for a lower floor next time. Looking forward to some Irish breakfast in a few minutes.

Excellent breakfast that came with the room. Good food at the restaurant. Very centrally located , 5 minutes from the Kilkenny Castle and the River Nore. Helpful staff. There is some noise due to music from the pub downstairs and the one next door. But we were happy with our stay overall.

Fun spot in the middle of everything

There is no ac so your windows are open to the street.Noise. At 6:00 am the trucks come in and unload the kegs and you right over this noise. No sleep happening. Breakfast was nice.

The area of Kilkenny is absolutely beautiful. Our room was not beautiful. Shower did not work, no room to sit forward on the toilet as the space was far to narrow and I am only 5”5, bed frame was broken and even after fixing legs in the middle of the night found the legs came loose and found the bed tilted again. Then at 5:52 am the unloading of the flatbed of kegs was jolting! This lasted for 10 minutes. Figured the nightlife would keep us up but it was the early morning disturbance that got us.

Extremely small bathroom and room only made to crash not very comftorable. The breakfast was outstanding.

No hot water for shower the room was cold the heating not working, no tea facilities in the room, old fashioned hair dryer, rooms need updating.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean but could have been better equipped. En suite could do with some maintenance. Food was excellent. Great location.

Rooms small and tight, no elevator (not unusual for Ireland). Breakfast was the best anywhere.

Just awful. It smelled like cat urine. It was dirty everywhere. Said there was breakfast included at 7 am but the restaurant wasn’t open until just as we were driving away at 7:30. Not that I would have wanted to eat there after the co diction of the room and hallway. Most horrible stay I have ever had anywhere.

Ok it's Right in town. We wanted to stay in a pub one night and this was it. We had room 4 which was clean and functional. Good bed
.nice shower. Breakfast was good. It was a little more than our other hotel choices in other towns but very close to everything. Parking we took a longer walk to get it cheaper... a parking lot closer seemed.more expensive. It's very very close to walking downtown and the castle and restaurants and the river walk. Loved the location and our room was great. We read some comments about wonky bathrooms .. but our room 4 had none of that. Glad we stayed ...watched a football match with locals in the pub and just a few stairs to get to our room

The location of this property was excellent for walking places in Kilkenny. The staff were amazingly friendly. It was unseasonably warm during our stay, so without AC and staying on the third floor, that was a bit uncomfortable. The beds were very firm. We did not have very good water pressure in our en-suite, but my in-laws were on the second floor and their water pressure was much better. All in all, I would still very much recommend this stay though, the staff were awesome, the pub/restaurant were fantastic, and breakfast was delicious. The ability to walk to everything we wanted to see in Kilkenny made this for a wonderful stop on our trip.

We overlooked the fact we were staying above the pub on a Friday night, and had to leave the windows open to try to cool off… didn’t get much sleep. Would be much better with a couple of fans in the room.

The room was pretty- very clean and charming and you couldn't hear the pub below.

For the price of the room I expected better, especially the bathroom which was outdated and moldy, issue with toilet, and terrible water pressure. The room was large enough for my family of four which was a plus. The location was ideal as it was close to everything.

Convenient location, great food--and breakfast! Easy walking distance to the Medieval Mile.

Super friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. Clean comfy room. No parking. Paid parking down the street. Only complaint was beer keg pick up and delivery at 5:45am, which was unbelievably loud😬

Rafter’s is a lovely little pub and B&B. We were only there for one night, but it served our needs perfectly. Checkin was a breeze and we were able to grab a few pints once our luggage was sorted. The room was bright and clean. And the included breakfast in the morning was the perfect way to start our day. The only issue was the hunt to locate the electrical outlets. Impossible to find without help from James at the bar, who it should be noted was a wonderful help.
