We loved our stay!! The guest house is so charming and our room was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable and the room immaculately clean. Breakfast was delicious and we appreciated the cold water and snacks available outside of breakfast time. The guest house is in quick walking distance to the bus stops and Simon was very helpful with recommendations and helping us figure out how to navigate the town.
My favorite part was the lovely garden in the back. I spend an wonderful few hours reading in the relaxing garden.
Highly recommend this lovely guest house. Can’t wait to return some day!

Fabulous accommodation, but we felt it was just a little too far from the city centre.
Bus are frequent into the city, although you need to walk 10-15 mins to the bus stop.
If this accommodation was closer to the city , it would be perfect!

A great location. Bus access to down town is one block over. In a very nice neighborhood. The host was so helpful with suggestions/recommendations. Great eating places/pubs within a quick walk. Room/bathroom was spotless. Rooms are very quiet. Breakfast is amazing with excellent choices and cooked to order. Parking easily available on side street next to property.

Excellent accommodation and within walking distance of Edinburgh city centre. Simon and his family made us feel very welcome and we would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a convenient location to stay.

We had a very lovely time in a spectacular city. Simon was a great host and nothing was too much trouble. The poached eggs and salmon for breakfast was beautiful. Great spot and close to the City but also far enough way to be really quiet. Would definitely recommend this to our friends in Australia

Simon helpful and friendly. Room was very nice though very small. Good job we are too. Impossible to dry oneself in the bathroom. Apart from that, the rest was “Perfect”. Bus services from Mayfield Gardens is far better and later night service than the 42 mayfield road one. The 42 does not run on Sundays or weekdays after 7:44 (last one from city centre). Breakfast was nice especially the haggis. We both slept well..Thanks Simon

We spent 6 nights here at the end of September 2021. We had a couple of nights in a smaller room at the rear but were upgraded to a lovely room at the front. The hotel is located about a 30 minute walk from the City Centre or there are bus stops nearby. There are also some nice restaurants within a 10 minute walk.
Simon was a friendly host and there was a good choice of breakfast options. We would stay here again

Just got back from a stay over a long weekend. Simon was very friendly and accommodating, and even helped with ideas for around Edinburgh and the journey home.
Room was very well stocked, clean and spacious - breakfast was also a welcome addition (and good!) before venturing into the city centre.
I can’t fault the location either, an easy walk to all the parts you’d want to visit in Edinburgh.
Hoping to come back next year…

Wonderful service, and THERE’S A TORTOISE!!!!! Simon was super helpful, the bed was incredibly comfy, the breakfast was great, it was awesome! The only thing not so perfect was that there are no in room fridges so it might be a good idea to take a cool bag if you want lots of cups of tea, but there is a big fridge down the stairs. The patio/back garden area is lovely, quirky, and the resident tortoise Torres is just wonderful! The two restaurants Simon recommended were also excellent and incredibly good value. We probably won’t be back as we like to try out different places, but would 100% recommend. A lovely and great value getaway with fabulous service. Thankyou!!

Warm welcome, well looked after, super room and great breakfast. Nice part of town, pleasant walk into the centre, or easy to take a bus. Definitely recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this guest house. We were greeted by Simon and his beautiful sausage dog. I would like to say thank you to Simon who made our stay special and his delicious breakfasts especially his omelettes always brought a smile to my face and good start to each day. Myself and my husband particularly liked the classy and grandeur interior, another factor which contributed to an all round experience was the location. Located in the Mayfield area this was ideal with half an hour walk within all the attractions and the city centre which kept us on our toes.
Another aspect to note was the attention to ensuring the guest house was covid safe within numerous hand sanitisers placed throughout the guest house.
Thank you Simon.

Beds were comfortable and the room seemed newly redone. They provided us with water and glasses. The breakfast was very good.
We followed their suggestions for nearby places to eat and really enjoyed No 1 Grange.
Location was great for Holyrood Park and The Meadows, but a little less convenient to Old Town/City Center. Lots of bus options though. Staff was very helpful in helping us figure everything out.

Lovely homely guest house, very friendly and a good breakfast. The only criticism was the shower which didn’t work very well

Lovely guesthouse within 20-30 minute walk to Edinburgh city, but also on a bus route if walking isn't possible. Parking in the side street next to the guesthouse. Rooms are small and bathroom tiny, but all very comfortable. Daily housekeeping. Delicious full English breakfast with plenty of choices cooked to order. Friendly family running the property. Was able to have some washing done (for a small charge) while we were out sightseeing.

Lovely, comfortable house with beautiful touches and attention to detail. The breakfasts were delicious with a variety of hot and cold options. The house is about 1.5 miles from the city center but the walk was pleasant and there are bus, Uber and taxi available if you are pressed for time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 day stay here!

Hosts were very friendly and helpful on Edinburgh attractions. Their suggestions on local restaurants were right on! They provided us tips to Arthur’s Seat, a must to do hike. There is off street parking provided, that is essential in Edinburgh and their son was a highly skilled valet.

Truly one of my favorite guest house experiences ever! A warm welcoming staff. Quaint, modern, clean and very comfortable. AND, you get to choose from a traditional menu for breakfast and have it made to order. Very well done! Also, within a pleasant 10-15 min walk into the heart of Edinburgh. For sure would stay here again.
