Our stayed was EXCELLENT! The location was great. The hotel was very clean and smelled so refreshing……Close by the beach. Lots of restaurants and shops near the hotel Barlovento. The area is very safe. We walked late at night and felt safe. The breakfast was good. All the staff was super friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel is clean, and staff (Luis, Santiago, Ladie at the front desk) were amazing. Our room was thoroughly cleaned everyday and everyone, including the restaurant staff were very friendly.

The property was nice, and the rooms were well clean. The door to the gym and pool was always locked, and when you asked the front desk to come and open, they always hesitated. That was my only problem,

This is the perfect hotel if you just want to chill with minimal noise. It’s a short drive from the clock tower and it is near Getsemani/Centro. It is very easy to grab a taxi, and there is also a souvenir outlet nearby. Not to mention the abundant amount of restaurants walking distance. The only downsides are the room ventilation is poor. The room/bathroom can get very humid, so the ac has to be on constantly.

The staff was friendly. The property was nice and clean, where we were was close by a lot of different shops and restaurants and stores. I enjoyed my time there, and if I ever go back, I would stay there again.

The hotel room was impeccably clean and the hotel was staffed with fabulous personnel, but the modern ambiance added to its charm. The breakfast included was simply amazing, making my stay even more delightful.

Hotel was fine. The service was fine. I had a second stay booked for later this week, but cancelled after I was given a hard time about bringing my son and his wife to the pool after a day on the beach. The way I was spoken too was NOT ACCEPTABLE. I will NEVER stay here again. If you’re ok with not being treated like a homeless person off the steer, then go ahead and stay here. Otherwise, find a friendlier place to stay. There are MANY others to chose from. I want to send a special thank you to Lady, who treated my son in an extremely rude way. I hope you get fired!

This hotel is not guest friendly even if you book for 2 people they will insist on charging you $150,000 a night for a guest to stay over. What a scam and total rip off.

Will definitely stay here again when I'm back in Cartagena. The staff was great, especially Luis. The rooms are pretty modern and pretty big. The hotel itself wasn't so big to where there would be so many people and it was pretty quiet. Location was close to everything-- restaurants, grocery stores, the beach (a block away) and especially a swap meet that had the best prices.

The hotel is very clean and located in a safe and calm area of Bocagrande, off the main street so very calm. The room was nice and clean, the pool area nice for relaxing before going to the city. Breakfast was nice and tasty and we didn't run out of things to try from the menu during our 8 night stay. However, the best thing about the hotel is the staff, both the front desk and restaurant staff were AMAZING. Always smiling and happy to assist with anything. My wife does not speak Spanish but the front desk staff were able to assist in English as well. Overall, an excellent experience and would recommend the hotel to everyone visiting Cartagena, either for Business or Vacations.

This is at the safe area of Cartagena. Everything is within reached walking. I suggest the hotel will provide face cloth, flat iron/ironing board. Also, it will be beneficial if they will have career development for the staff to send them to English Language course. Overall, this hotel has earned me 5 stars.

Our reservation was cancelled without them even informing us. We got to the front desk and they tried to say we had cancelled the reservation which is not true. It was later confirmed to me by expedia the hotel cancelled for no reason. Very inconvenient and unacceptable.

We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff is wonderfully helpful and friendly. Delicious gourmet breakfasts. Very clean room with nice comfortable bed. We greatly recommend this hotel.

The staff was very attentive to us. I picked this hotel specifically because it was super close to the beach, we basically had the whole pool to ourselves most of the time and we walked everyday to and from the hotel for shopping or eating. What I believe they should have is iron and hair dryer in the rooms. However i sent for some clothes to get washed and they were delivered cleaned the next day! I will definitely come back and stay here instead of a resort. Thank you Barlovento!
