Nice hotel but was amazed that a supposed 4star hotel had only 5 irish tv channels no uk/ sky/ virgin etc
2.5
Hotel has several amenities, including pool (in separate building), outdoor event space, and is part of a walking trail covering historic points of interest. Restaurants on site were good.
Not walkable to outside restaurants/stores.

The pictures on the app looked great and we really booked for the gym as it was in the area we wanted and had facilities. It didn’t open until 10 on a Sunday which is crazy. The hotel was incredibly run down, surprisingly so. Would NOT stay again.

We stayed for a long weekend as a family. The reception and restaurant were really nice and modern. The rooms however need a renovation, bit outdated. Still comfortable and all one needed. All staff were super friendly and our kid received a cookie and milk every later afternoon which was super special.

Stay was fine, just fine. The property needs some tlc.it is out dated. The food was good but again the lounge/restaurant is old fashionned. The staff seemed overwhelmed. Had to wait for ages to be given desert menu then nobody came back to take order so we ended not having desert.
Room was clean but basic.
Bathroom was completely outdated. Shower was a disaster. Its a walk in shower, no door. Water was everywhere in the bathromm after i showered. Huge gap under the bedroom door which let in a lot of light and noise from people walikng in the corridor . The whole place felt a bit souless, no atmosphere. We will not return

Needs updating. Our rooms were small and very warm. Windows opened very little. The cleaners used a very powerful, perfumy disinfection which was overwhelming

Wonderful hotel, great service. Highky recommended

Nice comfortable hotel with good restaurant and facilities. Had a short walk around the pond and down to the coast. This was booked as a stopover on our way to the south of Ireland.

Water in shower was scalding hot. No bottled water in rooms. Was there for a wedding - food was excellent. Great time had by all.

Lovely stay. Very clean and friendly helpful staff

Great hotel close to the ocean with a great pool and fitness club across the parking lot. Walking trail/nature trail is a nice walk to the beach. Front desk staff was superb! Answered all of our questions, gave suggestions and were very helpful. Ate dinner at the restaurant and the included breakfast was delightful. They poached an egg for me and they will also make pancakes to order. Everything else is self serve buffet with everything you could want for breakfast ! A nice respite on our busy trip through Ireland!

Beds comfy, great window and view. We stayed in 7 hotels during our time in Ireland and this was the most expensive, which makes it seem like bad value because we had to clean the bath ourselves - it was full of dirt and hair. This was quite upsetting but as it was late we didn’t want to have to move. The corridor downstairs didn’t smell good which is another reason we didn’t want to move, we also didn’t want to lose our lovely view and comfy beds. It’s just a shame the bathroom was so run down and left dirty and hairy because for the cost you would really expect high quality cleaning. The hotel definitely needs updating and cleaning properly, or the price reduced to reflect the quality. I paid extra as a treat thinking it would be fancy, but even the cheapest hotel we stayed in this trip had a clean bathroom. Bit of a shame but aside from that we had a lovely stay.

But what makes the Bay great is the staff - really lovely people
Arklow is tiny so location is good
Will stay again when visiting family

We had a fantastic stay at the Arklow Bay hotel. Our room was beautiful, the staff was lovely and went out of their way to make our stay special. Everything was absolutely top notch!
1.5
Our room was on third level near the lift at the junction of three hallways with doors that slammed every time someone closed one. It was also directly above the lounge and the live music came right through the floor. In addition, there was insufficient parking available for guests. At one point it was necessary park up the hill behind a barn in an unimproved unmarked lot.
Our water view was over roof of the lobby and building across the way.
The buffet breakfast at the hotel is excellent

The bathroom was very substandard. The basin leaked, the taps had no pressure and the basin was very small. The mirror light on the left didn’t work and the right hand light flickered. The door opened onto the basin making it too cramped. The tiling around the bath was damaged.
We told reception , someone came and looked but nothing was done . The pillows were rock hard. The whole room needs a serious upgrade. Definitely not up to 4 Star standard.
In all very disappointing .
Reception staff unhelpful, but all other staff charming and efficient.
We will not be rushing back

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel the staff were expectional and all very warm and friendly from the receptionist checking us in to the bar staff even though it was very busy. The breakfast staff couldn't have done enough checking in and being generally very welcoming and giving suggestions on the local area. The food was all very good we really enjoyed are eveving meal and breakfast. The lcoation is also very central. We had a tiny drip from the room above but the receptionist staff sorted this issue hence why good and not excellent.

Old property worn down in places ..some staff unhelpful firstly the male receptionist who im still awaiting his call about a early checkin ...staff member who approached us to ask us to vacate a table in the public area of the pub as it was reserved ?? Though no one appeared for a booking...The wedding party we were in spent alot of money and maybe abit more appreciation should of been shown to a well behaved group ....

Went to see the High Kings playing in the hotel, had dinner beforehand which was lovely, geode variety on the menu to suit all, food was lovely, atmosphere was great, service was perfect start to finish! Bedroom was of good size, with the usual amenities, tea, coffee, hair dryer etc,,, comfortable bed & the choice to change the heat settings in the room

Staff were a pleasure to deal with and were super helpful. We had a couple of issues on cleanliness but again staff were eager to fix (including swapping rooms for one of the party)

Really nice staff.
Flush takes 5 minutes to refill and makes lots of noise.
The vent in the bathroom makes lots of noise too.
The rooms are not well insulated in terms of noise. We heard the person above us snoring for 2 nights.
No safe as written in the description.
The curtains were torn.

A lovely comfort room. Perfect for women. It has an iron and an ironing board!
A small hair dryer for drying your hair and body. In front of a large mirror.
Phone beside your double bed. Dail 0 for reception. Use your mobile for calls outside.
TV is on an arm that’s moveable.
Bed is super comfortable. Ask for a blanket to be sent to your room.
Gorgeous views over Arklow town from bedroom window.
Breakfast is fantastic!
