This was the worst best western hotel I've ever stayed at. The front desk lady was nice but the hotel is way out dated. The rooms are not worth over 100 a night

Considering the room was $220 a night, I expected a clean room that wasn’t broken down.

I was there for a wedding, they offered a shuttle from the hotel to the venue. They only made 3 trips before and after the event. The van’s capacity was 8-9 people. When I asked the driver to turn on the a/c she refused. It was 87 outside and 107 in the van. Two operational windows down, hair frizzing up and makeup running. The room was not very clean, baseboards hadn’t been cleaned in at least a month, what does that say about the bed spread. The tub was stained from hard water, along with the caulking around the tub. I will definitely not be staying at the Valparaiso Best Western again. The photos of the room didn’t show my disgust. Buildings age, they can still be cleaned properly.

Good, clean hotel. Furniture was a bit dated, but it was clean. I’m sure they would charge more with updated furniture, so I’m not fussed at all about dated furniture as long as it is clean. We had a room on 1st floor which opens to the outside. These rooms are the pet friendly rooms. If you are staying with pets, make sure and call the hotel directly to make sure one of the pet rooms is vacant for your stay. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Pet deposit was $150 refundable and $20 per night for each pet, limit of two pets.

Very pleasant stay. Nice hotel and good location. Lots of food options nearby, too. Check-in was quick and easy. Breakfast is typical but nicely set up. Would definitely stay here again.

The breakfast was very good and my husband and son, bacon, sausage eggs, various cereal, waffles, coffee, tea and other beverages. Only issue we had was the pillows could be replaced. The staff was friendly, and as we in the morning they thanked us for staying and told us to be safe on the way home. I would suggest requesting a room not close to the elevator.

The walls are very thin. Felt like the neighbors were having a conversation in our room. The highway also seemed exceptionally loud. We even questioned if the windows were open because it seemed so loud. Speaking of windows there was no ability to close the curtains and the sun blazed straight into your eyes as it came up every morning. Back to noises…the elevator ding was so loud. Seems like a random thing to complain about but we could hear its ding at every floor in our room (several rooms down AND across the hall). Positives-the staff was friendly, the grounds and room were clean. It was convenient to Indiana Dunes State and National parks.

Booked and paid for a larger king room. Upon trying to enter the room, there were issues with the soo not properly opening. Once we finally made entry, I noticed that the drapes had stains all over them and there appeared to be bread crumbs on floor, the room had an odd odor to it. In the bathroom the smell got worse, saw the sink was cracked in half. Opened the closet and saw 2 larger dead bugs. Upon seeing this, went to front desk. She informed me that that the other king rooms were booked, and all they had left was a standard queen room. This room was small, but cleaner. Did not see any major issues but room did not feel clean. Could see a cup water stain on tv stand, so obviously it had not been wiped down since last guest. Hotel over all was below average…. Main hallways and elevator looked like they had not been mopped or cleaned in weeks. This hotel had very good ratings, that is why I chose it. Not sure how it has been rated so high. Staff was very friendly… but I have not heard anything about refunding the difference in costs between the room I paid for, and the one we were forced to stay in.

Not what I expected for a Best Western. It felt more like a Super 8 or low scale motel. We had an outside room on the end of the building. Room was outdated and needed a good scrub in certain areas or maybe a fresh coat of paint.

There was a homeless man staying on property. And for breakfast he was in his pj taking and telling everyone his problems. Not good when you are staying there alone. Doubt I will stay there again

The room has very old beds. Old thin dirty Towels Hallways and room stanky Just a low budget hotel with a big price 😔 Js a bad experience I stay at hotels all week and this is not the answer. Hotel don't match the ratings 😕
