Absolutely amazing! Loved the hotel really beautiful, such a good location. Rooms was amazing and really big and really accommodating! Staff was super friendly and helpful and made me and my partner and my doggie feel so welcome! Will definitely return and recommend

Love hotel, close enough to the City but enough of a distance for a bit more quiet and calm. Wonderful room and staff. Lovely Old Town charm!
4.6
Excellent hotel! Fantastic staff, especially Chelsea, Jenny and Sam. Ben is the manager and he was great too! The hotel is in the perfect location. Close to everything but away from the noise. The rooms are beautiful and quaint and the bed, bedding and pillows were very comfortable. Can wait to come back! Thanks for the great stay!

Love this hotel! The food is excellent. The rooms are very comfortable. And there were quiet little nooks where we could sit and read.
4.6
Great location. Loved the tub in the middle of the room!
4.6
This was an amazing hotel. The location was perfect and the staff was friendly. The only downside is that some of the rooms do not have an elevator and a lot of stairs.
4.6
A hotel with a lot of character and charm with a lovely outdoor garden patio for drinks and dessert. Wonderfully located near Edinburgh Castle, and the University of Edinburgh
4.6
Lovely room! Ceilings in dormers a bit of a challenge for my husband but not for me. Very well appointed. Staff couldn’t be better. Front desk young woman with dog named LOLA was especially helpful and delightful. Wish I’d asked her name. Great location for us. Highly recommend!

I would have given 5 stars if only rating the hotel. I gave 4 stars because of the 3 star experience with the restaurant.
The hotel itself was terrific. The staff was attentive and wonderful. The room was charming and well equipped with upscale amenities. The location was excellent and within easy walking distance to attractions. If stairs may be an issue to some, it would be important to request a room accessible by lift. We were on the third floor in a section of the hotel that allowed us to take the lift for 2 floors, but then we needed to use stairs to go up another flight. Fortunately, they have an all night porter who was able to help with our luggage at 4am as we had to catch an early flight.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was disappointing. When we dined, there were only three other tables occupied. We ordered cocktails which took about 20 minutes to arrive. We ordered the Chateaubriand with a bottle of Malbec special. Portions of the meat were so tough that it was actually hard to cut with a steak knife and a couple of my bites were impossible to chew The stated salad was a disappointment and consisted of some kind of small green garnishment on the plate. When the check came, I was surprised by the added service charge for the cocktails.
We would definitely stay at the hotel again, but would dine at one of the other nearby options.

A great place to stay, especially during the fringe festival, as it is in the center of things in the old town. Very comfortable patio, lounge and restaurant that offers an quiet escape from the crowds. Our only complaint was that they were apparently quite understaffed in their restaurant and bar/café area, and many of the staff appeared inexperienced. With the exception of breakfast, we often had to wait a long time for any service.

Great location. Service was not great considering the price of the rooms

We had an amazing stay at Hotel du Vin. It is a great location. All our interactions with staff were great. Shout out to Sam for being very kind.

From the minute we arrived the staff was so friendly and accommodating. The rooms and the common rooms are welcoming and lovely. Location is superb! We walked everywhere. Breakfast was delicious and hot breakfast available too. Opt for breakfast included pricing. I think it is well worth it. We left early one morning and they brought breakfast to our room and that was even included in our rate.

There was great attention to detail on the check-in process. The young lady at the front desk made me feel like a welcomed guest, and walked me to my room, and explained the features in the room. That set the tone for the rest of my stay. Great first impression.

Staff was friendly

The only thing that I could suggest to improve is the air condition when is summer. Everything else was wonderful!
4.6
Air conditioning did not work in our room. Our room was like a sauna. Nothing was done to fix the problem & we were told by the front desk that nothing could be done. .

We had a wonderful time in Edinburgh and our hotel was lovely. What I really appreciated was the fact that they were able to accommodate us for an extra night due to our flight cancellation. Additionally, we had an excellent dinner the last night we were there.
4.6
The property was easily accessible to the Royal Mile and other attractions while not being in the middle of the 'chaos'. It was very quiet. The staff was extremely helpful and always courteous. I would highly recommend this property and would book here again.

Awesome Hotel!

Amazing service throughout but server at breakfast surpassed herself given she was working alone in a busy restaurant. Room was very plush and comfortable. Needed the fan though as it was uot

Easily accessible, good service, appreciate them having a room last minute as our flight was cancelled

Super friendly staff! Enjoyed everything about hotel!
4.6
Nice location for walking to main sights, room was good, nice bed and shower. Happy with the fact they had an oscillating fan and the AC worked well as we like it cool in the room. Only drawbacks were outlets not in great spots, couldn’t open windows. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we were traveling to Saint Andrews when we left and the front desk person called their SA location to see if we could use their location to park, which was very nice. Would stay again.
4.6
Quaint and unique property in easy walking distance from the Royal Mile. Our room had a view of Greyfriar's Bobby. Staff was extremely helpful.
Only negative was that breakfast service could be slow. The pleasant attitude of the staff and the quality of the food more than made up for this.

Stayed here for our wedding celebration in Edinburgh. Rooms are beautifully decked out, and had one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in.
Had a few issues with our room, but the staff were very helpful to get everything sorted.

Great location all within walking distance of key tourist spots and restaurants.

Good hotel. Friendly staff . Good location

To start with the positives, the location of this hotel is great for those wishing to stay in Old Town. We appreciated the ways in which the hotel has been redesigned to create a hospitality space within a property that has a very different history. We did arrive slightly earlier than check-in time and anticipated dropping our bags and coming back later, but we were informed that our room was ready and were escorted there without hesitation.
Our biggest complaint was that the building was undergoing renovations with hall carpets being pulled up. I understand that running a hospitality establishment requires maintenance and would have been less bothered by the disruption if it only occurred between check-out and check-in hours, but work started during morning hours when guests may still be sleeping. We were not informed ahead of time that we were reserving amidst a remodel and were not offered any partial refunds or courtesy items to compensate for the disruption.
The hotel does advertise their commitment to sustainability and offers for guests to forego their daily cleaning in exchange for a free beverage at their bar. In actuality, guests receive a voucher for $7.50 each, which is less than the cost of a singular cocktail and makes the entire offer feel a bit cheap given the price point of the hotel.
Other things of note: flushing mechanism on toilet broken, flickering lights in BR, stained carpet, difficulty getting replacement coffee pods, and very warm room settings

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and charming, the staff were helpful and friendly. We could walk everywhere from the location, close to train station as well as some good breakfast places and a yummy award winning ice cream shop ! Thank you!

This was my fifth stay at a HdV property and my second time at this hotel. It is lovely. The service is world class. The entirety of the property was immaculate. The food was outstanding. The location is perfect, close to everything you want to see, but quiet.
4.6
The courtyard area is lovely. However they play canned music out there much of the day, so if your room faces the courtyard, as ours did, then you can hear it. I did not notice any soundproofing inside the hotel either (ie, hallway noise and noise from the floor above). The restaurant is lovely, great breakfast and nice bar upstairs. Outstanding location!
