The staff are amazing, the saloon room is gorgeous, the bed was very comfy, great location. We will return

It was what we expected.

I have stayed at the Qvest several times; it’s a beautiful boutique hotel located on a beautiful plaza across from an historic church. Quiet but easy walking and access to transport and key neighborhoods.

Very friendly attentive staff and lovely care of the guest and the facility

The QVEST hideaway is a beautiful historic building with clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated rooms. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and made our stay memorable and relaxing!

Superb boutique hotel within walking distance of the city attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable if a little too minimalist. Would definitely recommend the Qvest as a place to stay in Cologne.

We stayed here for few nights during our longer trip in Europe. The hotel was really well maintained and looked posh.
Room was in excellent condition and only flaw that I saw was the lack of AC. This could make the rooms a little bit too hot on warm summer days.
I do understand that because the hotel is a historical building, installing AC would ruin the excellent looks and the overall experience.
But overall we were really, really satisfied on the experience and can recommend the place!

This hotel is located in a fantastic spot - very close to everything but in a very quiet square. The building is stunning, and the rooms have a great premium feel to them. Staff were exceptionally good at both reception and the bar. We stayed in a large suite on the ground floor, which was very impressive. There's a great restaurant out on the square, too.

Great hotel for someone looking for a place for a photo session, otherwise, just another hotel

Loved this hotel. In a lovely quiet square next to a beautiful church. Very clean and spacious room and comfy bed. The building was stunning and gave it a special feel. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Cologne is a very walkable city and the hotel is only a ten minute walk from the main train station. We'd stay again.

Weekend in Cologne to enjoy the Christmas markets. Hotel is in a great location - quiet but close to bars and restaurants. Big room, comfy bed - all good!

A nice, smaller hotel in Cologne. Nice if you want to stay somewhere, when you don't want to stay in the bigger hotels, but still want to have some extra service.

I like this hotel I have stayed here a few times, it is in a quiet location. The staff are all really nice, always happy to help you out with any query and chat when you are in the bar. The rooms are stylish and nice to spend time in as is the main parts of the hotel.

Cool place, very unique. Easy walking distance to the center of Cologne. Just wish they would have both shampoo AND conditioner in the shower!

Nice boutique hotel, not far from Dom nor Belgian quarter but required little walk. Nice staff and rooms. Can recommend.

It’s a beautiful hotel with super comfy beds, and the breakfast is great (although a little pricey). The staff are really lovely and helpful, with good tips for restaurants nearby.

Great location, beautiful building, and a very nice room. However, because of the building design the windows in the room did not provide much ventilation so the room was a bit warm. Only a small fan was provided.

Really special building and spacious room. Design furniture and most comfortable bed! In the centre but quiet.

Unfortunately the room given to us was the smallest ever we had in any hotel. On top of it it was under the roof with even less space useable.
Window curtains didnt block light enough of the tiny resulting us waking up when the sun was up.
No lift from level 5 to level 6 or any offer to assist carrying our luggage.
TV stand so low that you couldn't watch it from the only spot possible, the bed.
Nice design features but partly design is limiting functionality.
Nice building but we will never go back.

The arrival was really quite ok, very friendly people. Beautiful building, but..
Room was very warm, too warm to sleep. Outside temperature 23 degrees (night 17-18), inside 30...! No airconditioning! The halogeen lamps gave a huge amount of warmth. The corridor to the room was also very warm. The bathroom also very warm and not a good ventilation system. Opening the windows did not give any relief.
No coffee or tea in the room. Actually a simple room.
The breakfast was very simple, you had to ask for croissants or cheese or ham or jam, but it wasn't worth the price. The lady was again friendly but if you needed her she was not there and the plates and food from the guests who left stayed longtime at the tables. Not nice to see.
We left one day earlier, in the second evening, we didn't want to stay awake another night in that warm room. The fans we got was a very nice offer but did not help at all. Airco would be the solution here.
We already paid in advance via Expedia, but when we left we had to pay again. I informed them that we really already paid. "There was not paid in advance" said again a very friendly lady. At home I checked.. I really did the payment.
So I would say two stars less for this hotel! It needs 'some' improvement..

Gorgeous hotel with very friendly, informative staff. Only downside was due to the architecture of the building, my room had a slant that I would occasionally bump my head on. But I am tall, and not the smartest fella.

Beautiful building! Verry clean! Great staff! Good breakfast!
But:
Our room (414) did not have an A/C, it was verry hot in the room so falling asleep took a while.
The curtains barely kept any sun out so we woke up way to early.
The beds are hard as a rock, we woke up with sore body’s.
So we did not like it when they awsked €227,-

Overall we loved the QVEST Hideaway! The impressive facade and entrance lobby were every bit as impressive as the photos. The minimalist look and feel coupled with ‘designer’ furnishings and wall art were also to our taste. The room we stayed in was within our budget and therefore not at the top end, but it was clean and functional. Both my wife and I found the bed slightly uncomfortable for different reasons, but the weather was hot and we were in the eves, so that might have contributed. Our main gripe was that the sink was an angled piece of marble rather than a basin and was therefore impossible to fill. This meant having a decent wash without having to have a full scale shower was tricky. We didn’t use the restaurant during our stay, so I can’t comment. We loved the central, yet secluded location in Gereonskloster behind the Basilica. This was for the most part quiet, though very late on Friday night a small group of youths made it their base to drink and talk loudly. This meant that we had to have the window closed which on a hot night was annoying. This is more of an urban issue than one the Hotel can do anything about, so it didn’t affect our overall impression of the Qvest or its location. As a convenient ‘base’ to explore Cologne centre and the buzzing nighttime areas of Friesenplatz and Rudolfplatz it takes some beating.

Although I love interior design and appreciated the pieces around the hotel, I believe that interior doesn’t mean uncomfortable or not complying with the basic requirements for a hotels bedroom.
I paid £165 for a single room for one night and the room had no safe, minibar, tv or a wardrobe. Again, I love the wall coat rack you used in that room but your rates should reflect what you actually offer I believe or at least make it clear on the different websites/tour operators.

Hotel was beautiful and rooms were minimal but very comfortable .
Breakfast was excellent.
The only thing that would have made this even better would be to have a kettle in the room for tea/coffee
Thank -you

About 15 mins walk from station, cathedral and Christmas markets, this place strikes the right balance between being individual and quirky for the sake of it. Quiet for a city centre location, the room was clean (although it wouldnt hurt to touch up the paintwork a little) with some good views from the sixth floor windows. Breakfast was satisfying and well-presented and all the staff I encountered were fluent in English. If you wanted to pop out somewhere close for a drink, theres a corner bar on the main street which seemed popular with the locals but the surrounding district is mostly a business area so there are limited evening options.

This is a beautiful building that has retained and enhanced many of the original features - I can only speak for the room that I stayed in but I would not stay here again based on the room (#521).
1. Artwork - 1 piece, very large and not what I would expect to find (photo of 2 naked women)
2. Blind on window closed from the bottom up and I could not close it completely due to height
3. No clothes storage and hanging rail only accommodated shirts and the like
4. Mini bar selection eclectic and expensive
5. Sink in the bathroom was not really a sink, i.e. a sloping shelf which did not give the ability to have a sink that you could retain water in
6. No door on the shower room so a draught while you are showering
7. No temperature control that I could see apart from the radiator but that seemed to be turned off from what I could see
8. In this day and age no English TV channels other than CNBC that I would find.
Honestly, very disappointed as the building was so beautiful but this is minimal/modern gone wrong in this environment in my opinion.

My wife and I stayed here one night, to spend the afternoon and evening at Neptunbad spa nearby. Once you manage to find this hotel (we were driving) it's a great place. Very comfortable.

I was in Koln for a wedding on the weekend. I picked QVEST because it was relatively close to both the city centre and the wedding venue. The staff were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. I needed an iron for the wedding outfit and they helped me straight away. The study/reading room was a nice touch. Sometimes you want to just stop and read and take time away from travelling. Rather than needing to find that little space in a foreign city it was right there in the hotel. The room I stayed in could get very warm if all the lights were on. Although the view from my room wasnt great it did let in a lot of natural light which was nice in the mornings. I hate depending on hotel lights to be on for hotel rooms.

The hotel is unique and charming. A former library that looks like a cloister, the building dates to 1890, so it has a lot of character. Situated off the main streets on a small and quiet plaza, the only noise you might here are the birds in the morning and the church bells from the gorgeous neighbouring church. This hotel is really a find. Helpful staff.
