Loved this boutique hotel, staff were genuinely friendly, breakfast room decor was gorgeous and the breakfast itself was beautiful & delicious.
Loved my stay.

30 mins from the airport and located in the heart of Camps bay area. Beautiful, cozy, safe, modern and clean property with the best bay views in the city. Highly impressed with caretaker Sasha and the night manager who are always available for any kind of assistance. 10 mins walk to the Promenade with all the restaurants and shopping. Hop on and off bus stop in front of the promenade which connects you to all the Cape Town attractions and tours. If I ever come back to the city, I would definitely stay here again. . They have EVERYTHING in the room, from bottled water to flat iron, robes and slippers. Felt like home. Breakfast was great as well.

We had an amazing stay at Lion’s Eye and cannot wait to return on our next trip to Cape Town! The staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary unforgettable. Room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and the hotel breakfast was delicious which was enjoyed over beautiful views of Camp’s Bay. A true boutique hotel experience.

The guest house is located about 5 minutes walk from the main strip, with coffee shops, bars and restaurants of Camps Bay/Bakoven within 5-10 mins walk. The setting is stunning with The Apostles just behind the guest house and the sea view in front.
The owners and the staff are all friendly and welcoming, with a well stocked "honesty bar", and a buffet breakfast with freshly cooked choices of additional menu items.
Camps Bay itself has possibly the best fish restaurant I've ever been to (The Codfather) and a good mix of bars and restaurants, plus a small shopping mall. I stayed in the centre of Cape Town for most of my stay in the area, but enjoyed the couple of days in Camps Bay immensely, and the guest house was an integral part of that.

Could be a stunning place to stay, but it is not super clean, art work is poor, feeling is of a semi-abandoned gorgeous contemporary home that could, with little effort, be made to be utterly stunning and superior with better on-site management and focus on details. Owner are absentee and it shows.

My wife and I stayed in the Penthouse Suite for our honeymoon in Cape Town. This hotel was amazing. The room in absolutely incredible. The balcony in enormous with a nice hot tub on it and the view is stunning. The service here is first class. We had a late flight in and they had no problem accommodating a late check in for us. We loved the honor bar and the breakfast was excellent. Next time we are in Cape Town we will be staying here again in the same room.

So delightful - a great crew making me feel welcome.

I stayed 2 nights in the Atlantic room. It was fantastic. The room was huge, modern, clean and had the best view. The house had a sumptuous breakfast and was close to several restaurants and a Woolworth's. The beach was within a 15 minute walk as was the Hop on, Hop off sightseeing bus stop.

The most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Breathtaking views, stunning rooms and fantastic staff. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Checked out yesterday and this is certainly one of the best places that I have ever stayed in which is saying something as I am on the road around 50% of my time.
A very warm welcome from the property manager Calvin so thank you for that. All the staff were so pleasant, immaculately dressed and highly engaging.
My room was outstanding with one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in. Rooms are huge and very well appointed with all the amenities you would expect of a 5 star hotel anywhere in the world.
There are plenty of seating areas dotted around so perfect for business travellers and holidaymakers alike.
Breakfast didn't disappoint and I didn't make full use of it because my appetite was beaten! However, the range of food and breakfast was quite incredible and the quality, simply outstanding.
Security-there is an individual up and over garage for each resident's are anyone worried about this issue needn't. I was very impressed with the security on the property.
As for the location, elevated views right over Camps Bay from where you can see the most incredible sunsets and have a glass of wine (trust bar) at your leisure.
I would have no hesitation of recommending this place to all of my friends and will certainly endeavour to stay here again next time I am in Cape Town.
I hope my photographs do this some justice I would like to close by thanking all of the staff for making me incredibly welcome and looking after me during my stay.
Thank you

We stayed in the penthouse and the room/view was absolutely amazing. It's a beautiful property. BUT I made the mistake of leaving 3 of my credit cards in a semi-secret compartment of my suitcase one day while we were out. All 3 cards I left in the room that day now have had fraudulent transactions attempted on them. The head maid wasn't the nicest to us and made us a bit uncomfortable while we were checking in. Now knowing they went through my suitcase and copied my card info would most likely keep us from staying with them again.

Place has amazing view. Its away from v&a waterfront so its not for everyone. Our concern was the bedsheets and towels. There were stains on the sheets and towel were old and worn. The manager was able to address our conerns the next day.

Fantastic house, very friendly staff, perfect stay in Cape Town

The good: the view from the penthouse where we stayed was amazing. The bedrioom and livingroom was very spacious and the closets were plentiful. Wayne, the assistant manager was great.
The not so good: The property was not well kept. The glass around the deck was dirty, there were water stains all around, the panels to the hot tub were barely hanging on and there was bird crap on the balcony. In addition, there are no umbrellas or awnings on the balcony. You couldnt stay out there too long during the day because the sun covered the entire space. The grout in the shower was black instead of white. The floors throughout were dusty and dirty, the bed cover was dirty, and the closets smelled weird. It was as if they didnt known we were coming and i booked this room since August...
The staff and service: Everyone was friendly. The room attendant never changed the bed covering, never provided hand towels and wash cloths, never restocked the glasses and coffee mugs, and definitely never mopped the floor or cleaned the balcony. She graciously washed our clothes, but ruined every pastel item i had. I appreciate the complimentary breakfast, unfortunately it was subpar, so we just went out for breakfast each day.

Very accommodating and helpful service. Enjoyed the breakfast (broad options on buffet and a good selection to order by menu). A pleasant and relaxing stay with a short walk to the beach/restaurants and amazing views from the comfort of our room and public spaces.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Guest house was as seen in pictures and at a high standard. My only complaint would be the bathroom with no blinds or tinted windows, which is clearly visible to guests in the penthouse. Otherwise all great, fabulous helpful staff.

This is one of the few places I’ve stayed that looks exactly like the photos. The guest home is located on a hill in Camps Bay with gorgeous views of the ocean. The premises are clean and breathtaking. Looks like something out of a magazine. The staff was friendly and make a delicious breakfast. Loved our brief stay here!

Outstanding luxurous guesthouse. Beautiful view from the sundeck.

We enjoyed our short stay at Houghton View. The room was huge and very well equipped and the staff were really friendly. The Hussar Grill is close for dinner and does excellent steak! The beach is also only a short walk with more dinner options. The sunset from the hotel is amazing!

It is, in effect, a very beautiful large house where you have a bedroom. There are no staff around (except when they serve a fabulous breakfast!) which makes it feel like you have the place to yourself. This might not suit everyone but we loved the feeling! The views are even more stunning than the house and if tranquility is what you are after, this is as close to heaven as you will find.

Staff bent over backwards and upside ... beautiful place thanks stay with exceptionally lovely staff .

We stayed in the Atlantic room and it was stunning. The room was lovely as was the view. The hot tub however took 4 hours to heat up and was quite dirty... other than that the stay was perfect.

Really tanks for MR.Calvin

Hotel was amazing, staff were so friendly and accommodating, location was perfect - 10 minute stroll into Camps Bay with beautiful views whilst you eat breakfast

Make sure which room you are reserving. Apostles is the worst room, super tiny, facing street side with traffic noise, no tub.

I wish I spend all my time in Cape Town here. It's really great guest house. Somehow it felt like home. It's very quite and comfortable. The room has beautiful view and wide space.
Highly recommended

We couldn't believe the size of our suite when we arrived! The balcony was enormous, and the view, all 360 degrees of mountain and sea, was spectacular. Everything else was perfect - we were offered a full breakfast in our room and the staff were very helpful.

We spent a night in the Penthouse at Houghton View on our way through Cape Town on our way to Kynzna and it was amazing.
Charl gave us a a lovely welcome and nothing was to much trouble for him.
The views from the deck outside were fantastic and we invited friends to enjoy the sunset with a glass of champagne.
I would be happy to recommend everything about the residence.
It is very conveniently located in Camps Bay within walking distance to all of the restaurants and attractions.
Great facilities.
Thank you Charl and the team.
Very best wishes
Adam

Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! If you can afford the penthouse, splurge. By USA standards - it is very cheap and worth every penny. Beautiful! The service was impeccable. Loved it!

This small but perfect hotel is essentially a billionaires house converted to a 6 room hotel. I could leave a long review but instead I'll sum up. Outstanding in every way. For balance... the WiFi was awful, but I think that was caused by local roadworks. Book the penthouse and rule the entire top floor!

All I can say is amazing. The lads always take care of the guests and its where I stay whenever I am in Cape Town. Penthouse is A class

Great host, great view overlooking the ocean and mountains. We had one of the penthouse to ourselves. Will definitely go back again!

We stayed in the Lions Head room - what a great view of the Lion's Head to wake up to every morning. Charl was an excellent host, helping with everything from laundry to wine selection and was always a smiling face to have a chat to. We used the secure parking which was really convenient. Overall a great stay. Plus we have never seen a bed as big as that before!

We had a two day stay at this beautiful guesthouse, and regret that this could not have been longer. We were treated with great hospitality and courtesy by the manager Calvin and chef/housekeeper Charl.
The views from our room and generous bathroom are unbeatable, and we were especially grateful for the generous terrace space, which allowed us to enjoy the breathtaking vista in private.
A very nice touch was the honor bar, which allowed us to toast the sunset in style.
I cannot wait to be back.

We spent 2 nights here on our honeymoon. The property is amazing, apparently on the market for ZAR 42M, has been used as a set for movies and the like. Very quiet and private, slightly off the main Camps Bay Dr. A comfortable 10 min walk away from restaurants and into town/beach. Great place to just relax and soak up the views. Charl, the chef/executive housekeeper, was super friendly and helpful in helping navigate the property and makes a nice breakfast - he's an aspiring entrant for MasterChef so test his skills! Only knock against it were some stains on the towels/bedding, but aside from this just awesome place and amazing value.
