Great hotel, well located to the arena, beds were a bit firm but rooms were large with good amenities, air con didn’t work but we didn’t have time to report the fault as we checked in and were straight out

Mattress was really hard and kept getting woke up to noises from outside throughout the night… I had to leave early because of this and they didn’t refund me for the nights I didn’t stay

Clean. More than enough services. Even a washing machine and oven.
Lovely and clean. Pool nice if a bit cool. Would recommend. Not too far away from the shops and markets.

Not great tbh. Loads of flashing lights you can’t turn off on the oven and the room was boiling hot. The rooms have the feeling of a slightly bougie dentists, which isn’t good. Not cosy whatsoever.

My stay was no so good unfortunately.
Cleanliness was generally good but the first room we stayed in had stains on the coffee table. The Second room the oven tray was dirty.
The heating was not working in our first room and we could not call reception as the intercom wasn’t working either. I had to make 2 trips downstairs to get help with this. It was so cold in the room we were shaking and had the duvet to keep us warm. It was actually warmer on the corridor and in the lift! We were finally told there is an error and would need to move rooms. At no point did the reception staff apologise or acknowledge the inconvenience. At one point when I was in the reception asking why no one had to come back to us, the receptionist named Ravi, did not even look at me or say anything for about 30 seconds and then said “here is your new room”. I asked if the heating is working in this room as they had a technical problem with the intercom, and he did not know. So we checked together and it was working. I asked the receptionist for his name and his colleagues name, he gave his and asked why I wanted his colleagues, to which I said this was because he attended my room and did not return. The receptionists attitudes generally were not very polite, welcoming or courteous.
When we moved rooms, it was warmer which was nicer but actually got too hot at one point and did not seem to get any cooler after changing setings. We had a few issues with lighting, they kept flickering.

Very helpful staff, as always.

Great location, apartment had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Easy walk to shops and restuarants. Easy parking garage accross the road.

I had a great night sleep, room was very quiet and peaceful

Nice hotel, modern and mostly clean and tidy. I would stay again.
But the room was showing some signs of wear and tear and breakfast is a circus of booking in advance.

I stayed in a two bed apartment. It was a good size and the kitchen was sufficiently equipped. The beds were incredibly firm and the mattresses felt like hospital wipe clean mattresses. The shower was powerful and hot.
Breakfast was a fiasco.
Told I had to book a table for breakfast as its table service only. Duly did so. The following morning I had to queue for 15 minutes behind several people who had not booked “so sorry they are corporate clients and we don’t know when they will turn up and we don’t prioritise guests with reservations during the week”. Then I was served a fruit salad comprising of just slices of apple and two pieces of melon “so sorry it’s been a busy morning so we’re out of fruit salad”. The following morning I was asked if I had allergies. I said I had a lactose intolerance and selected vegan choices from the menu and asked for oat milk. I was brought dairy milk for my tea and butter for my toast.
The swimming pool and hot tub were nice.

I was attending a course at the nearby Chetham's School of music. This location was perfect!

Huge place. Really nice clean flats, which are well equipped. Air con in every room. Super quiet. Surrounded by restaurants and bars.
Only negative was that lots of little things needed maintenance (e.g. many lights not working, sinks not draining)

I recently stayed at CitySuites Aparthotel 1 in Manchester and, unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the hotel is well-located in the city center with great amenities, my stay was severely impacted by the unbearable heat in the room. The air conditioning was completely non-functional, and to make matters worse, there was no telephone or intercom in the room to contact reception.
I had to go down to the reception twice to report the issue. Both times, the receptionist suggested steps to fix the AC that I had already tried, making it seem like I didn't know what I was doing. Despite my concerns, he couldn’t come up to check it himself because there was a long queue, and I had to leave the hotel shortly after.
When I returned around 3:30 am, I informed the night receptionist, who came up to our room and attempted the same steps we had tried before. He assured us that the central AC would cool down the room within 10 minutes, but that never happened. As a result, I barely got any sleep due to the stifling heat, even with the windows open. My cousin, who was staying in a different room, had the same issue, making the experience even more frustrating.
Aside from this major inconvenience, everything else about the hotel was fine. However, the lack of responsiveness and the discomfort caused by the faulty air conditioning made my stay quite unpleasant. I hope the management addresses this issue for future guest

Hotel room was lovely and had every emenity you might possibly need, however check in wasnt great. It took an incredibly long time to check in even though the queue wasn't too long.
The breakfast was horrible. We waited 45 minutes JUST for our drinks to arrive and a total of 1 hour for food to arrive only for it to be cold, but at this point we had waited so long there was no point sending it back. There were so many tables of people with no food or drinks just waiting, with staff walking round like headless chickens almost bumping into eachother but seemingly doing nothing!
Food was just sat at the waiter collection station.

This wasn't my first time staying at City Suites. After three successful stays over a year ago, I encountered my first bad experience on New Year’s Eve this year when the entire hotel lost hot water, leaving all guests unable to shower. As you can imagine, that's far from ideal when everyone is preparing to go out for the evening.
I hoped this was an isolated incident, but sadly, it’s clear that the hotel has declined over the past year. Upon check-in, I was told that breakfast was included, but no one mentioned that it needed to be scheduled in advance. This oversight led to an hour-long wait the next morning just to be seated and served.
The stay cost over £300, which isn't cheap, especially for just two people. The most disappointing aspect was that my son had to sleep on a broken sofa bed that creaked loudly with every movement. While some might suggest we should have requested a room change, we discovered the issue late in the evening and moving rooms at 10 PM with a child wasn’t a practical option.
In hindsight, I should have moved rooms, as neither of us slept well. The unreasonable wait for breakfast the next morning was the final straw. Unfortunately, this will be my last stay at this hotel.
It's a real shame because it was evident that the staff were embarrassed and clearly overworked.

The facilities I paid for where not available to me without explanation
When I asked why I was met with aggression

Receptionists were overloaded and didnt communicate with each other so id agree something with one only to find the next one hadnt been told. Sofa in the room was heavily stained and for some reason there were bits of sellotape on the ceiling of the bedroom. Pool was good but lockers were broken. But bathroom was nice and breakfast fine. Overall just rather tired and overpriced.

I’d have given this property a five if not for these two reasons.
1. I was on the 13 floor and got smoked out of the whole floor from cigarette smoke and the front desk clerk was hesitant to move me and my son.
2. I split my head in the lobby from their automatic door and no one bothered to follow up with me to ensure I was ok.

lovely apartment hotel...would have expected better toiletries in the bathroom. The toiletries were not official white company ones as stated on their website.
Would have expected other things too, like cotton buds, spare tooth brush etc.
But on the whole a good stay. Car parking at the nearby q park, is very expensive, works out to £18 a day. Wished I'd parked elsewhere and then got an uber to the hotel. Would have been much cheaper.

Great property. Would stay again!

Expedia gold absolutely pointless, the Hotel doesn't recognise it at reception.
Air Conditioning didnt work or was very, very poor. Overheated whilst sleeping woke very early.
Overcharged for parking in their recommended Qpark. Charge £18 instead of the quoted £16.
Definitely will not be going back their!
Overheard another customer complaining too at check-out.

Me and my partner had a great stay at CitySuites. The apartment was very clean and cozy. Comfy bed, clean bathroom, exceptional breakfast. Would definitely stay again

The reception staff friendly and welcoming. Arrived early and our room was ready no additional charges!! Was a lovely apartment well equipped clean and comfy.
Pool area fantastic lovely jacuzzi
The disappointment was breakfast. Booked a table arrived on time but didn’t get seated straight away. Was extremely busy. Seated a ridiculous low table and sofa set up. Waited a while to take our order but waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Waited another 15mins for drinks. We spotted a table become available and asked if we could move to it so when our breakfast came it would be easier to eat. We waited only to find the staff seated some other patrons who came in off the street and sat them at the table. Eventually our food came after waiting 40-50mins!! No cutlery at first. We weren’t given a cotton napkins like all other guests. Half our breakfast was forgotten and we had to ask for the continental aspects which arrived. We asked for more drinks which didn’t arrive so we left and cancelled them. The whole breakfast experience was poor. I appreciate it was busy and the staff were doing their best however I believe we were hidden in a corner and forgotten about. Over an hour from start to finish. Left what was a great stay with a disappointing end. Luckily we were able to check out an hour later due to the delays at breakfast!! Definitely don’t plan anything until you’ve finished as you will be late

In first arrival we had a couple of issues with the room having not been properly cleaned and one of the TVs wouldn’t connect to the internet. The reception team were amazing at trying to address the issues and eventually moved us to a different room (as they were unable to resolve the TV issue).
On arrival at the second room (which was in much better condition) we could see some other items were obviously not right / missing from the first room - presumably where they had been broken or damaged and subsequently removed.
Breakfast was great but you really must book in advance to avoid long waits.
Altogether it was a lovely stay - the pool was great and almost private when we used it and the team on the front desk really made us feel welcome and did all they could to make sure we had a great stay.

Great experience staying as a couple for a nights getaway. Close to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was really nice. Staff all super friendly and accommodating.
