Spa was great
Buffet breakfast with plenty of options

Fantastic location, super clean, great staff and lovely food, only slight better if was the entertainment. There was a stand in lady with a guy playing the keyboards and the choice of songs was too depressing with not enough upbeat songs.
4.2
The views are spectacular, some areas of the hotel are dated , needs modernisation in rooms , we where there on a big family weekend , the set menu at dinner was not very good , a set menu price with very minimal quality most said its was ok , mine was inedible, very disappointing, set menu needs to be better quality and bigger portions, drinks where reasonable

I was very impressed. Very comfortable.
Good night's sleep in a very inviting hotel.
Decor is contemporary and well maintained.
Lovely terrace and bar area.
My evening meal was very good.
4.2
Superb location with coastal views in a well kept building. Excellent and plenty of free car parking. Food including breakfast of a very good standard. Rooms clean, comfortable and well maintained. All staff extremely friendly. Bar facilities and outdoor seating very good. Spa facilities on site. A good 20mins walk up hill from the harbourside. There is a bus service that stops a 10mins walk away.
4.2
The bathroom was cheap and shower drain needs replacing, some areas cleanliness is doubtful

A comfortable sleep is the primary objective for any hotel but these mattresses (both on the double and single in our room) should have been placed in the dump a few years ago. You could feel every spring and it rolled you to one side. The staff provided a duvet without a sheet to place over the mattress as the solution. I didn’t note there was no A/C as I took that as a given for a hotel near the beach, so a fan had to be requested from the barman as there was not a receptionist present at the desk when we attempted calling and then visiting. A real shame, as the building and location are great. They just need to reinvest in updating their facilities. Oh, and the fan in the bathroom didn’t work so that didn’t help with the heat in the room, as the windows barely opened.

Helpful friendly staff. Great views.

It was fantastic ! An amazing night away with entertainment
4.2
Great stay, a bit dated and spa facilities were not working properly. The food and the service are top notch.
4.2
Early check-in and check-out compared to normal 3-11. Rooms can be cleaner. Otherwise average.
4.2
We only stayed on room only basis for a single night. The room was clean and had been revamped. I just felt it needed up dating with the furniture. Staff were very friendly.
4.2
Very nice and pleasant hotel, bed and bedroom are a bit too small for a business trip compared to other single rooms I have stayed in Torquay but would order a double room next time
4.2
A lovely hotel in walking distance of amenities( or be it up a hill). The hotel room was a bit dated the room we had was above a kitchen. The smell of kitchen fat was alittle unpleasant. The spa area was quite good and clean. The hotel guest’s in general are lovely quiet older people, however you do get few tattooed boozers!!! Who at night seem to get a little noisy when people are trying to sleep!
4.2
Good value for money. Nice spa but unfortunately no pool. Great breakfast. Very much enjoyed our stay. Will stay again.

Based on reviews and a quick check of the hotel website we had high hopes of a clean tidy hotel. On arrival all was seemingly well until we entered the room. Overall the room just seemed a bit tired and in need of a little love. The dated bathroom was damp smelling with dirty splash marks around the sink from the previous guests. There was a thick layer of dust around carpet edges and corners where it may have taken a little more time to clean. The coffee cups were adhered to the drinks tray with sticky runoff from the previous attempt at a rinse and the spoons were stuck inside the bottom of the cups with sticky mess. As the booking was made through a third party there was a charge for using the spa. This was not indicated anywhere in the hotel info on the third party sites. The hydropools were a little tired and the locker doors were missing so no facilities to safely store your belongings.

Parking a bit limited, imagine would be a real problem in the summer.
4.2
The hotel is lovely only when I arrived at 8:30pm the shower had no hot water so I had to have a wash down in the sink.
4.2
The staff were so helpful and friendly, obviously happy with their work and made us feel special.
Lots of GF foods and no trouble to get items ie, gf bread rolls and sausages!
4.2
The view from the room was of buildings and a skip.
The sink was cracked and the room too hot with no way of reducing.
4.2
It was nice but due to an old building it can get chilly even the heating was on full. We did tell them but they never sorted out the simple issues...eg extra heating or thicker duvet!!
4.2
Excellent value for money- everywhere was spotlessly clean. We were lucky enough to have a great sea view( though not booked). Evening meal in the bar and breakfast were excellent. All staff very friendly. The hotel is positioned in a fantastic spot overlooking the bay with great views from the hotel . Short walk down to Meadfoot Beach.

It is a gorgeous Hotel, I enjoyed my stay, the breakfast was Delicious

Scenic view from the literal headland the hotel stands on. Seaviews, the sound of gulls in the morning. Excellent restaurant service. The breakfast is not to be missed!
4.2
Staff all friendly and helpful without any prompting.
Interior looked modern and fresh looking .
A nice quiet location with good view. Free parking and WiFi everything easy and more than I expected for the price I paid .
The spa was great clean and a good experience.
Good breakfast the only thing I would say is needs more than one coffee machine a bit slow if others in front but great coffee.
The lighting in my room was too bright with no table lamp but was quickly rectified by the room
service lady within 5 minutes amazing .
Will visit again worked for me who is generally quite fussy person who never really finds a room that totally suits.
It was a budget last minute room may upgrade a bit next time the slightly better rooms looked spot on .
Thanks for a comfortable problem free stay I may even come with someone else next time .
Would recommend to give it a try whatever age range .

Ab Fab location with view and walks. Very attentive staff. Breakfast very well provisioned and friendly staff throughout.

We enjoyed a lovely 2 night stay. The views and walks from the Headland Hotel were fantastic.
The weather was good so sitting out on their patio area with gray views and a G&T was wonderful. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. Will definitely be returning
4.2
Located a little out of the centre, suited me as quiet with great views, but may not suit less mobile if they want to walk anywhere as very hilly area. Clean, comfortable room, pleasant staff, good breakfast. Hotel does host coach tours, which again may not suit everyone.

The only time I've ever walked out of a hotel because of the incredibly poor standard of accommodation was at The Headland Hotel last weekend. The bedroom was made up of old tatty, chipped furniture, but that wasn't the main reason. I've never seen a bathroom like Room 136 since the 50s. I have no idea how the hotel can expect a paying customer to put up with something so poor, including broken window blinds meaning no privacy, one of 4 ceiling lights working, and a mirror so small it was pointless. We were offered room 147 as another option but were told there's a kitchen fan right outside which is on and noisy from 6am to 9pm. No thanks. And when taking my complaint to the operational manager, his response to a colleague was, 'What does he expect us to do, magic up a new room?' Not very customer friendly. And of course, no offer of a refund (taking that up with Hotels.com).

Wonderful property and staff. I only stayed for one night however all members of staff were lovely. I got a massage with Sara and it was excellent. I understand lobby has recently been renovated and the rooms are next. My room was not updated however it was clean and I'd definitely return. There was a wedding going on and they took care of all guests not just the wedding party.

Sometimes no available Parking otherwise very good
4.2
Wonderful views from the terrace. Very quiet and relaxed although close to the centre of Torquay.
4.2
The location is lovely. The staff was helpful & friendly but some were quite inexperienced. The food was very nice but the dinner times changed without notice. Booked a superior room w garden view but got a room overlooking the car park, which could at times be noisy and was extremely hot. No air conditioning or fan available. The general areas of the hotel and room were clean but the outside bar terrace floor was dirty. The final bill had mostly wrong dates for dining and we were overcharged, which was settled after some further email communication.
4.2
lovely hotel within walking distance of the center.
lovely see view my only complaint being the condition of the bathroom which was tired and in need of refurbishment.
Amazing staff who really were concerned we enjoyed or stay. I will come again and maybe ask for a room with a better bathroom
4.2
Very comfortable and friendly staff. Excellent dinners.

What a lovely hotel this is ! Fantastic stay for a night away with my other half spa was amazing and really made us feel relaxed. Only negative was the fried eggs were undercooked so put me off my breakfast, other than that the whole stay was brilliant from start to finish excellent service at all times and not to mention the beautiful views over the bay.
4.2
Lovely views across the bay, staff always available and very helpful. Room coupd do with updating and as for the floor boards that creak all over the place, lets say we couldn't have a lay in!
