About this house rental
A charming home to relax in with your family & friends. Centrally located in Woodland Park and only a 1/2 mile to downtown restaurants, parks and entertainment. You will be nestled in the pine trees on a half acre in a lovely family neighborhood. This is a 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home that will comfortable sleep 8 people which is our limit on how many guests we will allow. The home offers a fenced in backyard with a dog run. The large primary suite includes a dedicated desk and chair.
The home is on nearly a 1/2 acre of wooded land. It is within walking distance of Memorial Park and several downtown businesses. The home is situated in a forested subdivision for family living. This is not a rural home but rather a small town community home surrounded by great neighbors. This neighborhood has lots of families, children, people dog walking, etc. We hope you will enjoy the fun relaxed pace of the area.
The home sits at 8,500 feet in elevation. Most homes in Woodland Park have no Air Conditioning because it is not needed, just open the windows and let the fresh mountain air in. Nights always cool off and most likely you'll be snuggled up in a blanket before dawn. If you are here on a warm day, we have fans in most of the rooms and the upstairs bedrooms are all outfitted with window venting fans which allow you to bring in the cool air or vent out warm air.
There is room for parking 3 cars on the driveway and we request no street parking or parking on our lot.
Guests will have access to the whole house except for two locked closets and the garage is locked. As we live here part-time, this is where we store our things and extra supplies for guests. For security, we have a Ring doorbell and a Ring floodlight and camera on the driveway.
Other things to note:
Wild Animals - We see deer in our neighborhood and typically on our property every day. In addition to the deer; we have birds, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, fox, and rabbits. We have seen bears on our cameras during spring and summer. There is a strict City policy of NO wild animal feeding. We are careful with trash so that it will not tempt the bears. We have a bin behind doors in a shed where you can put your household trash as needed.
Steps - This is a fairly flat lot for Woodland Park, but the lot does have some areas that rise and fall - please walk around the lot with caution. All entrances to the house involve a few steps. Once you enter the house, the lower level is easy to navigate, except for a step down into the sunroom. The upper level has a staircase with 14 steps to get to the 3 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs.
Children - We love kids and allow all ages in our home. That does not mean the house is child proof. Please monitor your children and make sure areas are safe for them. We do have 2 baby gates if you need to barricade your little ones from the stairs or other areas. We also have a high chair in the pantry and a pack and play in the Primary Bedroom closet.
Smoking - We do not allow smoking or vaping inside the home. If you smoke, please do so outside and away from the doors entering the home. Use EXTREME CAUTION. We are frequently in a burn ban. On the front porch is a bucket filled with sand where you can extinguish any smoking materials. Please dispose of properly. Because of the fire hazards in our region there is to be no burning outside on our property. We do not have a fire pit because of the frequent burn bans.
Dogs - We are a dog friendly home, but please make arrangements when you book for having a dog stay. Please bring your own dog bed and crates. We have a 2 dog limit but will consider a third depending on the breed/size/age. Pet bowls are available in the pantry. Clean up after your pets - We have bags, scoops, and a bin outside to make it easy. Dogs are not to be left unattended.
Sunroom - We consider the sunroom a patio. If the day has strong sunshine, the sunroom will get quite warm. It cools off in the evening and is very pleasant to sit in during the evenings and mornings. If you are lucky enough to be hear during a rain, it's quite nice to be in the sunroom at that time. It is a solar room, so during the winter it is part of our heating system at the house and we have a built-in fan and vent that brings the warm air into the house.

Our stay at The Pines was wonderful. The house was very well stocked and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the house was very clean. We enjoyed coffee on the front porch in the mornings and were blessed to see a mama deer and her two fawns in the yard each morning. It was a great getaway!

This was our first time staying in a VRBO and we will never stay in a hotel again! Lisa and Dale have outdone themselves with all of the thoughtful details they have put into their home. My family and best friends family were able to stay together in this home instead of a hotel and just had the best experience. We could spread out, breathe, relax and enjoy each other’s company. The wildlife just roams freely which is so fun! And we saw a bear! It was little but still… You won’t regret staying here!

This was the most organized and smoothest stay we have ever had. Everything was as stated or better. I give this property and owner a 5+ or whatever the max is on the rating.

Super clean, well-maintained, quite spacious. Had everything we needed and then some. The sunroom was actually a nice bonus with the variable weather. Saw sooo many deer, wild turkeys, just wandering property. Close enough to walk to some trailheads for hiking, but also can walk into town for dinner or to the nearby community park. Loved it

We have been doing family vacations, using rentals, since 2007. By family I mean 3 generations. This one was the best. The home is warm and inviting and incredibly comfortable. Lisa’s attention to detail, from snuggly blankets to choices of coffee, showed a real concern for her guests. And our interactions with her were equally warm and friendly. My grandkids, ages 5 - 10 LOVED it and said so more than once. In addition it was nicely located with easy access to shopping, restaurants and a lovely park.
In all honesty our family can’t wait to go back! Definitely a 5 star experience in our book!

I stayed for week while visiting a friend, there were three of us plus two dogs. The house was amazing, had everything we needed and more. The owners were so accommodating and our trip was perfect. The neighborhood was quiet and my dogs loved having the backyard to run around. I would stay again when we come back to CO, plus the weather was perfect to get out of the Texas summer heat.

Wow! This house was amazing! We traveled with 6 people and a pup and it was perfect! Our group has stayed in many vacation homes, and Lisa is by far the most thoughtful host we have encountered. She thought of absolutely everything you could possible need. The house is so well stocked. The kitchen, pantry, extra blankets, space for kids, and even a basket for the dogs! The house was also extremely clean and organized!
Could not recommend this house enough! Thank you, Lisa for sharing your beautiful home. If we could give more than five stars, we would!!

If I could, I would give this rental 10 stars, it was that good! The Pines was so comfy and cozy. And our hostess was so thoughtful in all the little touches she left, like family games in the dining room, lap blankets in every room, etc. Everything you needed was there. The kitchen was so well-stocked with pots, pans, cutting boards, etc., that fixing meals was easy. It was also located in a nice town with its own things to do and not a far drive from attractions like Manitou Springs and the Garden of the Gods. We really felt this was our best rental ever!

The Pines was everything we needed!
The house is gorgeous and has such a cozy vibe, and there is SO. MUCH. SPACE! The pictures do it no justice, especially with the sun room. We were lucky enough to have a thunderstorm during our stay one night and it was magical.
The hostess does an amazing job of making sure the kitchen is very well-stocked with necessities, provides tons of games, books, and activities to help you get the best of the scenery. And while we don’t have little ones, she has things like baby gates, a pack n' play, feeding chair, and baby plates that I know we appreciated seeing on hand. Not only that, her communication and care was perfection.
While it's about 30-45 minutes from CO Springs-proper, it didn't feel that long with the gorgeous drive up. Woodland Park has A LOT of amenities convenient to the location so we never had to make a trip "into town" for groceries or things we forgot; tons of restaurants, stores, and sites to see around the area.
Trust me, you want to stay here and you will not be disappointed. If not for the hospitality, stay for the scenery!
