The gourmet kitchen, with high-end appliances, acres of counter space, and a full pantry, has all your mealtime needs covered, and the whole group can dine together at the large, window-front table. The house was huge and beauriful. The view could not be better. I would just ask that they buy new pots and pans.

The layout is excellent for a group. Each bedroom has a private bathroom. The location is within walking distance to downtown LaJolla, but backing out of the driveway is a challenge since it's on the busiest street in LaJolla. The views are spectacular. Decent amenities. Interior paint, guest bedroom shower drainage and windows cleanliness are areas that need improvment.

Casita under repair (we were told it was finished prior to check in). The Casita is located on the lower level of the home. The A/C units did not work - we were promised daily they would send someone to fix them. Multiple calls and text messages to Vacasa (long hold times and slow to respond). Turns out through our own investigation the construction (which included people coming and going without notice walking right past the kitchen windows every day we were there) was for asbestos removal. I've sent pictures and notified Vacasa and VRBO. Please keep your family safe and find a different property.

This home has incredible views. From there it goes downhill as much as the cliff it sits on.
The home has not be lived in. The kitchen has the least amount of useable kitchenware I’ve ever rented a house with. The A/C was broke, the microwave was broke, the living room tv broke while we were there. The casita is under construction and is under the main house also noted that it has asbestos contamination!!
The property management people were kind and did what they could but it was a miserable rental home. Filthy floors, door casings and windows as well as the glass walls. This home should not be offered as a rental property at half the rate it’s posted at. I’m looking for a refund !! The owners should be ashamed at t what they are trying to do to people. VRBO should ban this home immediately. I have videos to prove everything I’m posting!!
No dish towels, broken wine openers, 6 total wine glasses, no servering platters, horrible miss matched cookeware that looks like it came from a good will store.
I hired a chef to come cook for my birthday and when I got to the house I had to call him and tell him to bring anything he made need to handle the evening as this home has nothing. He was kind enough not to charge me additional money for all the extra work and supplies he had to bring for the night.

Very nice relaxing week. This was a very expensive house and I’m sure a big part was the fantastic views. I was not impressed with the initial start up supplies. 3 trash bags paper towels that disintegrated when you touched them. Bring on the strong Bounty paper towels and maybe a few extra trash Bags!!! There was recycle bins in the house but no recycle bin outside. Not sure what that is all about. Sincerely, John B.

We had a excellent time in this house with an amazing view! it was perfectly located to walk either direction to get to shopping/beaches/seals etc. The garage parking was not as bad to get in and out of as other reviews said, maybe due to the time of the year? Even with the PGA tour in town, we were able to get around easily. Our only compliant was that the lock box code they gave us didnt work, then when we got it, the keys in the box didnt work for the house or the casita. We also got locked out because of the front door code. The property manager was easily reached over cell phone but the lock situation was our only complaint. Thank goodness we had a garage door opener to get in and out.

I specifically rented this home because the "casita with separate entrance and a sofa-bed" would work great for my 22 year old nephew who needed to be apart from the noise of three young kids we had with us.
It turns out that the "sofa-bed" is some sort of mini fold out couch without a mattress (very thin foam with multiple seams) and it is only 5' from head to toe (most beds are 7') so an adult's legs hang over the end by about a foot if your head is completely touching the back of the sofa cushion (more with normal sleep with a pillow. Ours also had no sheets, blankets nor pillows.
This is the same "sofa-bed" in the upstairs bedroom which was not a problem for us as my 5 year old granddaughter slept on that one.
The lower level "casita" is essentially unusable because no one over about 8 can sleep in that bed, and yet the room is completely detached from the rest of the home and one must go outside and walk down a flight of steps to get to it, so only an adult can use it.
If you don't need the extra room, it's not a problem, but we needed it.
The other issue is the complete lack of customer service. It is difficult to get through on the phone, and when I did twice, I was told that my concerns would be shared with the regional rep for VaCasa and that I could expect to receive a call back. Never got any call nor any follow up from anyone.
Bottom line: the casita is unusable as a bedroom, and neither sofa bed is useable by an adult. Also be careful renting from VaCasa; if you need something during your stay, don't expect them to be helpful.
I also echo the comment that it is almost impossible to back out of the driveway at any time of day except maybe the middle of the night. This house is best if you don't bring a car.
On the positive side: The home is beautifully outfitted and remodeled (the pictures are an accurate representation), has stunning views of the ocean and is a short walk on a trail to downtown la Jolla, or a short walk in the opposite direction the beach.

The house is great - amazing ocean views, close to La Jolla. On a busy street, so that is a bit of a challenge getting in and out, but once in the house, it is amazing. Clean. All bedrooms have their own bathroom. Very comfortable.

Our stay in La Jolla in this home was great! View from the patios cannot be beaten - anywhere! The house is on an incredibly busy road (Torrey Pines Rd) and once you pull into the garage it is impossible to leave due to the traffic. However, the house is located directly between the beach and its great restaurants and La Jolla Village with its great shops and world-class restaurants. It’s an easy 10 minute walk to either, so we quickly learned we didn’t need the car and it stayed in the garage for our entire stay. If you want to come and go in your car, this isn’t the house for you. If you want to have the best location in La Jolla, this is the house for you.
