Small boutique hotel nice area very friendly staff
4.3
Amazing staff and facility. Massages are typical nice but not mind blowing, however I had a 9/10 experience because she added a little stretching. It randomly started to rain, it provided such an ambience.
Only downside was the rooms was little hotter than I would've prefered but most buildings don't have central air in cdmx so it wasn't a huge deal and it's mentioned in description so there was no deception, just my preference.
4.3
The location of the hotel is fantastic. However, the room got extremely hot at night, and even with the fan, pushing the air onto the balcony it was hard to control the temperature.
Otherwise, the staff were fantastic overall. The beds were comfortable and the washrooms and the showers were clean and modern.
4.3
The place was really nice and super clean. The staff was extremely helpful. The only thing that sucks is there’s no air-conditioning.

We booked a 6 night stay for a vacation in CDMX and had a horrible time at this hotel. There is no privacy - the windows open up to the lobby/guest areas, and also can see into another room if the blinds are raised. Our bathroom was connected to another bathroom through a balcony! So you had to keep it locked at all times. There was no air conditioning - our room was typically 10-20 degrees hotter than outside - if you opened the windows/ bathroom balcony door for air - you hear the lobby sounds and lights, making it hard to sleep and have to fear someone coming in from the other room. So physically the rooms aren't setup to meet basic hotel standards.
The service wasn't great either. Room has opened containers in the refrigerator when we got here. The safe didn't work - didn't have batteries. The only fan in the room had a water cooling feature - but when you turned it on, gross black water came out - looks like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. We asked for an iron - and they brought one but no ironing board.
We ultimately booked another hotel after one night - and they were only willing to give us a one night refund.
4.3
It was a nice hotel but there is no air conditioning or heating in the building. Our room averaged 77-80 F even with the fan they gave us, even at night. For this reason alone I would have to give it two stars, otherwise I would have given the place a four start rating. The service was good, breakfast was nice, staff was friendly.
4.3
Great option if you like small hotels. The neighbourhood has good dining options, the room is well equipped with smart app functions and there are spa services in the property as well
4.3
Very beautiful little boutique hotel. Some small things that would make my rating 5 stars include hairdryers in every room (rather than on request), breakfast is simple (but there are many options nearby), technicians could be faster in addressing minor issues (bulb replacements). On the whole though it’s close but not quite 5/5 for me.
4.3
Amazing design but air conditioning is needed
4.3
The best experience and staff.
La mejor atención al público y un lugar con experiencia original
4.3
Outstanding service, amenities and value. Highly recommended
4.3
De los mejoress servicios que puedes tener, realmente es una experiencia hospedarte, todo limpio, la mejor atención, nuevo y muy bonito
4.3
Lovely place with a great team operating the boutique style hotel.
Opted for the hot tub experience - it was relaxing but not super comfortable for 2 people about 6 feet (182cm) tall.
Opted to try the tea ceremony and the ceremony leader was extremely chill and knowledgeable.
The rooms overlooking the dining area do not block sound very well, and that would have been ok were it not for a loud-talking guest who liked to talk excessively.
There is a tree which is planted indoors, but droops in the walking path forcing taller people to duck. A mild annoyance, even though the tree is pretty.
The area around has a lot of walkable spots including a place that sells wine on the corner and was kind enough to pop the bottle they sold us so we wouldn’t need to search fir an opener. Ryo Kan staff was kind enough to provide an opener for the next bottle we bought.
Breakfast was simple, fruits, yogurt, bread, oats, and a juice, but it was nice.
Having been to Japan, I would say this hotel does a nice job giving some flavor of Japan without making you feel totally immersed and detached from western culture.

Everything was wonderful

If you are interested in architecture or interior design, this is the right place to book.
My stay was an immersive experience, the details are everywhere, lights, textures, colors.
The whole staff was warm and kind. I highly recommend this place.
4.3
Our stay in this beautiful place allowed us to have a relaxing space in the middle of the city. Before arriving, the staff asked us about our preferences regarding breakfast and the onsen, so everything was personalized. The room was very comfortable and the staff very attentive, and the interaction is easy due to the app that is used to control access, illumination, entertainment, etc. We will come back!
4.3
The room is ok and is clean, it is very tech room, the thing is that very tech sometimes is difficult to get it work! We couldn’t put the volume higher. The room doesn’t have AC (at least the disclose that). But overall it’s ok, in my case they had a problem with the water, I had to leave the hotel, but they reimburse me my money!
4.3
My wife stayed here and she really liked the bed and all of the technology that is used. She was very excited about toilet features.
4.3
A wonderful relaxing rest bit. A great escape.

Great stay.it can be a little noisy if your on bottom floor since u have reception next to u and u can hear also bar next to hotel (pata negra).but in general, its a relaxing stay trully that makes u slow down and chill. It is right in the middle of a bursting area(little Tokyo) with lots of food options(mean a lot:el Califa tacos, japanese( avoid Rokai it is over priced, not great service and portions are way too small, instead jump on a taxi arranged by reception and go to amazing El Japonez in Polanco,it is fantastic) ,spanish, yucateca (just across street as well as,lebanese,) argentinan,italian,french,corean...did I mention Mexican? Yes all sorts within walking distance or car drive 10 minutes including Polanco) very centric safe location im the hearth of the city and personnel is extremely helpful and polite.Loved the amenities(phone controlled room) and let's make it clear:it is not really an Onsen(like you will find in Japan) but some nice bath tubes on the roof top which, on a nice sunny morning can be a total bliss for a 40 minutes relaxation before a great day exploring wonderful centwr of the Universe called Mexico city.
4.3
Lovely place, intelligent room, and room for improvement... 8 out of 10
4.3
The staff was impeccable and very friendly. My needs were accommodated and met. Loved the rooftop onsen after a long day of exploring. The location was close to a bunch of things as well. Would love to come back here.
4.3
the staff didn't give any information about the use of the installation with a very unhelpful attitude. we have been put in a smallest room I have ever seen and is so near to the reception…u can always hear them talking
4.3
Great location, amazing service, very clean. The sound system in the room is great, and everything is fully automated. So high tech! Glad I lived that experience.
My room was somewhat small, but the main issues I had were that it was very warm (no fan or air conditioning) and a very unpleasant smell came out of the bathroom. I guess I was just unlucky with my room.
4.3
Really unique property. The room includes black out blinds and everything is control operated. Staff is friendly, location is great, and the hotel is calm and serene. Definitely recommend staying here if you’re in Mexico.
4.3
Great staff! Awesome hotel, really enjoyed our stay. The staff even emailed to see if we were okay when we missed our bus back from Veracruz and were not back the next day. Like many hotels here, there is no air conditioning and the windows for our room faced the interior space on the top floor, so it was a bit warm in the evenings but cools off nicely at night even during out early July visit. I would still highly recommend to anyone.
4.3
The staff is very friendly. And very gorgeous. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants and bars. Hotel is quiet and you can come and relax in your room with no noise after partying or spending the night at the mini bars close by.
The staff was very attentive from the very moment you walk in the check-in to the minute you leave.
4.3
It was very peaceful and the staff was extremely polite.
Note, there is no AC.
4.3
Beautiful, elegant, calm and quiet, LOVELY staff who will do anything to make you comfortable. Up & coming area in CDMX. Great place to stay for ES, EN speakers alike.
4.3
Great location, staffs were nice and helpful. Just one thing a bit hot in the room and hard to pack up if you have big luggage. We love to stay there as so relaxing.
4.3
Special Japanese style hotel in Little Tokyo of Mexico City!
4.3
We loved staying at Ryo Kan in CDMX! It was a beautiful oasis in the city. The location was great and we could comfortably walk to the park as well as neighborhoods like Roma and Condesa. Note that this is really styled after a Japanese bath house so the rooms are not very large. In addition, the sleeping arrangement is Japanese-style so a pretty firm mattress on tatami mats. I was worried that we would have trouble sleeping comfortably but it was mostly fine. Our room opened up onto the atrium. There was wonderful light but we wanted to keep the balcony doors locked while we were sleeping so it could get stuffy at times.
Overall, the staff was wonderful, especially Rodrigo. He and others went above and beyond to give us tips and ensure our comfort. The housekeeping was a little erratic. Though the room was cleaned thoroughly every day, there wasn't as much consistency in terms of re-stocking things like towels and toiletries. I would also advise you to be careful with the safe as ours was not functioning the first day and we had to get it repaired to house our valuables while we went out on our adventures.
Overall, Ryo Kan was a wonderful hotel in the heart of CDMX and I would recommend a stay there.

I travelled to Mexico City with a friend. We decided to give this hotel a try since it appears to be new. The inside of the hotel was beautiful, makes you feel like you are staying in Japan. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast was prepared for us each morning. They went out and bought lattes when the barista was out one morning, we would have been happy with just drip coffee if we had known. They offered recommendations on food and activities. They also checked in with us to see if there was anything we needed. The staff was an absolute delight! We would definitely stay there again when we return to Mexico City. On another note, the bed was a bit hard and difficult to sleep on, but I think it is because of the traditional Japanese style mattress they have and also our room faced the street so it was loud at night. The hotel did provide us with ear plugs to cancel out the noise.
4.3
Service was impeccable, the staff was so helpful and accommodating. The hotel looks amazing and the rooftop onsen way perfect. The only things that make me hesitant to stay here again are 1. No A/C, and 2. Noises are heard very easily throughout the hotel since the swinging windows open up to the hotel and aren’t actually a wall so noise easily comes through and into the room. Also, if you are not a heavy sleeper, make sure you request a room off the street side as it was very loud all night with music and passing cars and construction (the sidewalks are all torn up, probably due to the earthquake). I would love to stay here again but only if there was A/C and the rooms we’re quieter because the hotel looks great and the people are very nice! Also, it would be helpful if each room had a hair dryer in it. We had to request one, and we were asked to give it to another room before we had to check out.
4.3
great hotel, really nice and comfortable.
