It's not really my kind of place, and I likely won't stay there again, but it's definitely not the worst place I could have booked at short notice.

Room was good and comfortable! I just didn’t like that you have to make your bed and put things together and take them off. Hello, that’s what are you paying for. Also no elevator and if you get the top floor like it happen to me is a lot of stairs.

Roxanne was very kind and helpful indeed…
…thank you very much indeed…!!!???!!!
As was said…
…I’ll be back - next year hopefully…!!!???!!!

Theirs no AC or even a fan in the room. Got way to hot between 11am-4pm that we had to leave. Everything is over priced and for that alone they should install AC units in their rooms. Shame on the owners

I stayed for 3 nights, everybody so nice, the space has everything that you need

I had a great time at the hostel. It was calm to sleep at night and had plenty of friendly people to hang out with. Great location too!!
3.8
I gave my shirt for cleaning (paid service) they lost my shirt, the guy in the reception was just joking about it and they never found it... I left without my shirt (kind of valuable one because ut costs 80€) and they haven't been answering me

Great service, and very friendly staff!!

I stayed in a 2 female room which is big enough for 2 people with luggages, and it has a washing basin. It’s an old building so don’t expect elevator. The lobby is quit small, I didn’t enjoy hanging out there.

Great location, friendly staff, good facilities and a clean establishment.

Good place

Nice, clean hostel in the centre. 10 minutes walk to train / Bus station. Friendly staff. Lively atmosphere. There is no lift but that's common with many central properties as due to their special bulding status change is not permitted.
3.8
Very easy and quick check in.
The room was clean(only a few spiders on the walls)
Toillet and douche met wc between the rooms.
Not bad for one night🙂

Loved the overall vibe of the place, staff were super friendly and helpful. Beer tasting was also lots of fun

It’s an awful place in a beautiful city. Bad service at hostel, won’t go there again

My room was very clean and access to showers/bathrooms is good.

The Lybeer Hostel was in a very good location. For those wanting an ensuite double room, a hotel would be much better value. The hostel is in a lovely old building but carrying suitcases up 3 very steep flights of stairs with banisters that are broken in parts and held together with scaffold poles and extremely threadbare carpet is very dangerous. Rooms are all upstairs. A lift would be great. Unfortunately we got caught booking on a holiday weekend.

This hostel was central and walkable to the tourist spots.
No lift. Stayed on second floor 4 bed female room which was ok. Provided tea and coffee.
Didn't like the stairs. Had to make your own bed and remove bedding and bring it back downstairs on departure day.

We booked a double room with private WC although it is a hostel with lots of share rooms. It is at the top of the hostel, you have to go up and down through a very narrow stairs. No elevator. it is always crowded in the reception during checkin and checkout time. As a hostel, it is quite organised with reasonable number of bathrooms and toilets. Equipped Kitchen and free tea coffee. sometimes kitchen is a bit messy after the usage as it is shared with many travellers. Would be great if more hair dryers are available to borrow.

The hostel is clean and well maintained.

This hostel is an absolute stunner in each perspective , I’d just make the kitchen available for guests or at least the fridge not only from 8 AM , I’d also work on the internet speed since it couldn’t go above 0.5 mbps

Excellent location and handy tips given to us on arrival was much appreciated
3.8
Great for a family. Friendly people, clean and comfortable

The hostel is very basic. Room had twin bunk beds and a sink. Things were clean, but we did need to make our own beds. No chairs or tables to put any of our luggage.
For the price, it’s better to pay a bit more (max 10 euros) for a full hotel room, king bed, bathroom, tv - which we did and had a much better stay.
What brought us to Hostel Lybeer was the social room/piano, but everything is under construction. Check first before booking if this is what interests you.
The staircase is ultra sketchy and in no way accessible. No elevator available.
Overall an okay “hostel” but WAY over priced for what you get.
4/5 location.

Very much a hostile experience. Super casual with 27 rooms in a single building. Fits into the vibe of Bruges. Don't expect a hotel, a restaurant, valet or business-class experience. Instead, sleep in a bunk with clean sheets. Park in the underground lot about 5 min walk away or at the train station 10 minute walk away.

Everything was really fine, If the hotel had a lift, that would make it perfect
3.8
Comfortable and clean hostel, located within walking distance to the city centre.
3.8
The bed is a bit small but the room is clean
3.8
Very nice building, and a five minute walk from everything! I wouldve felt i was in a hotel & not a hostel if not for the 6 other people in my room
3.8
Nice enough place for the price paid

The stay was practical - to have a place to sleep inexpensively for one night. Staff was very friendly. The condition of the room was good and clean. The common areas of the hostel were in need of some repair and general organizing. Some of the mess could have been due to COVID rules restricting the space that could be used. Overall it was fine for what I needed.
3.8
Very basic hostel that is good for one night's stay. Take note to bring your own toiletries and towels as they are not provided. Only downside for me was that the heater wasn't working at all.

Stayed in a very nice private room. The staff was really nice but when we arrived a half hour before check-in, we had to wait until 2 to check-in which was fine with us. We went and had lunch, came back at 3:30, a hour and a half after check in and they were still cleaning the room. Only had to wait a few minutes, bug you could tell they were behind. They also cancelled the beer tasting they had scheduled. The bar and common areas were nice.

I thought the staff could have been much more helpful. She didn’t offer any real help when I asked questions and seemed entirely disinterested. We called to ask about changing the batteries in the safes because one was dead and the other stated low battery, she said she’d send the technician who never came.
The showers are GROSS and they smell. Be the first to shower if you can because otherwise there is only one per floor. Some extras on the lower level which don’t have hot water...
The room itself was nice though. I would ask them to add soap to the sinks in the rooms. Especially since one of the floor toilets has no sink and you have to wash your hands back in the room.
The location was good, not too far from the market sq etc.

good stay. good location

Nice place with a lot of space(low season, not full)
My room was only half full. You get free coffee and tea as long as you clean your own cups/dishes. Large dining area for drinks/food.
The bad: had to wait a while for the concierge to get back to his desk. Also not 24 hour availability.
Had to set my own bed, sheets, pillows and blankets.
Some beds in rooms haven’t been cleaned from previous guests

The hostel has an incredible location (you honestly could not hope for better), it’s is by a large parking garage, restaurants, shopping, and the sites. The place is clean and friendly. The rooms and nice and each have a sink. I was overall very happy. My only disappointment was that the walls and doors are not sound proofed, so I could hear music and laughter into the night. Otherwise, the beds are comfy, the blankets are excellent, and the staff provided me a map and info of the area. I would recommend this place - just bring some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.
3.8
The hostel was brilliant! Cosy room with good quality pillows and duvet (I stayed in a single room). The hostel has a good kitchen and lots to offer including walking your information, a bar (which held a beer tasting night which was so much fun) and the staff were lovely. I would definitely stay again!

Fabulous hostel in a great location!
