Such a beautiful place. Highly recommend. We will come back

First of all, everything about this place is exceptional. The rooms are beautiful and appointed with great care. It is quiet and romantic, and the owner is attentive and super nice. Also, the price is fairly moderate in a very expensive region. We have stayed here twice, and we will definitely stay here again when we are in the Sonoma/Napa area.
Second, I hardly ever write reviews. I’m just too busy and it’s not my thing. But the first time we stayed here I accidentally pressed on two stars when Expedia prompted me to write a review. When I realized what I had done, I contacted Expedia to change my inadvertent poor review as a courtesy to the owner. I actually spent almost two hours on the phone with Expedia representatives and they wouldn’t do it. Shame on you, Expedia. The only reason I booked our next stay through Expedia was so I could write this review. My advice is to book your next stay directly with Glen Ellen Inn. They are terrific. Expedia isn’t.

I loved everything about this place. Feels very magical and has a very European feel. Owners weee accommodating and went that extra mile with fresh water and treats daily. Smelled so clean, like bleach though not cleanser. Sweet little area set up overlooking the creek. Just loved it. And quite the bargain during high summer in the Sonoma area. Charming.

Our room was so beautifully decorated and every detail was taken care of. We loved sitting outside near the river and it was easy to hear a great music group singing at a cute place near us. We felt very well treated with snacks and delicious coffee, water, and all our needs were met. It is a very quaint place off the beaten track

The Glen Ellen Inn was a wonderful surprise! Pictures on line do not do it justice! Karen was amazing. Our room was clean and comfortable. The property is quite and secluded and very picturesque. Little steam in the back with beautiful tress that lead right into the sweet town of Glen Ellen. Nice drive to San Fran, Sonoma, Napa and the coast. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful and peaceful setting overlooking a stream, forest and the oldest bridge in Sonoma County. Lots of nice outdoor seating areas and beautiful landscaping. Cabins have screens, and wonderful to sleep with the outside air. Very welcoming staff.

Karen helped us do a seamless check in since we knew we would be late attending BottleRock. Our room has to be the best cottage, quiet, secluded with a pretty patio area.
Everything you need is within walking distance, a sweet French bakery, grocery store and several restaurants.
The hiking at Jack London park is amazing! Really the best trails we have ever hiked on in California (and we're hiking enthusiasts that grew up. Comfortable beds and the best nights sleep too.
We will definitely be back!

The Glen Ellen Inn is a great choice if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the sonoma wine country. Very clean and comfortable. We liked having the extra space offered by both the living room and separate bedroom. There’s a nice soaking tub as well as a separate shower with steam/spa capabilities. Karen was great and provided us with several suggestions for dining options and wineries to visit.
Be sure to take the time to research any wineries you want to visit. Several are only open Thursday-Monday.

Very nice visit. Easy access to cottages and tranquil setting. All amenities as advertised. Kind and attentive staff. Easy access to fine dining. Next time we’ll make winery plans but this trip was just to relax and unwind.

A hidden gem!! Such a cute property and we loved the town of Glen Ellen. It was a perfect destination for a romantic getaway. Our only complaint was that we didn’t have longer to spend there. We’re already working on our return visit. Thank you Karen for an easy check-in process and a wonderful stay!

WOW!! Sometimes you can build up expectations.., not the case, I had no idea we were going to be transported to magical oasis by a mossy covered bridge. A stream flowing right outside. Definitely a couples getaway. Karen was very attentive and kept an open line of contact but never saw another person while there. Lots to do in a walking distance. In room hot tub and gas fireplace - the room was a little busy with knick knack trinkets but the absolute hardest part.., was leaving. We were at the end in cabin 3, not sure what the others were like but come stay here - I recommend it

We absolutely loved our time at the secret cottage!! Ownership was so sweet and welcoming. It’s the most charming and cozy place to stay in the whole valley. We can’t wait to come back!

Just amazing. I had a pretty significant event in my life that really required me to get away and clear my head. After some searching, I came across the Glen Ellen Inn Secret Cottages, about an hour away from where I live. The photos looked nice, and the reviews were all excellent, to the point that it was hard to believe. But the jetted tub called to me!
I am so glad that I did this. The cottages are these amazing little places to just unwind and to find some peace. Right by the river, and tucked back from the street, there is plenty of room to relax in solitude on your front porch, or in the back sitting area of the property. I would classify the vibe as cheerful and positive, yet tranquil.
The property is walking distance to Glen Ellen Market, Glen Ellen Star, wine shops, and Les Pascales. There are several good restaurants within a ten minute drive.
I stayed in the Courtyard Room. There were so many thoughtful appointments: Jetted tub complete with rubber ducky. A bar with plenty of snacks (replenished daily), water, coffee maker, and fridge. A bathroom, adorned with lots of towels, soaps, lotions and shampoos. The steam shower(!!). The bed, with more comfy pillows than I knew what to do with. The sofa full of pillows and blankets. The thermostatically controlled AC, heat, and fireplace.
Everything is very clean and new-looking. I never met the host, Karen, but she was always cheerfully available by text to answer any questions. Highly recommended!
