Alles perfekt. Das Frühstücksbuffet war überragend!
8.0 / 10.0

Every design detail was perfect down to the amenities (soap is magnificent).
need outlets near bed (for devices and other accoutrements); only minor inconvenience when level of perfection is this high.

Besutifuly appointed apartment in the Center of town. very clean, comfortable, nice beds and linen. Very peaceful and quiet. Kitchen had everything one needs for cooking. Close to everything. Very good value for expensive Bad Schandau. Staff was outstanding.

room was quite small

Staff and location were excellent. Excellent coffee and breakfast. Right in the middle of town, but still a quiet corner. Easy walking to the river and Therme. Garden was was cared for. Restaurant exceeded our expectations, but there are good dining options all around as well. Very close to hiking.
Room is somewhat dated with bright orange colors and dated hallways. But the room was large and comfortable. Parking is 100m away, but you can drop off luggage and return, not a big problem.

Breakfast was really great and extended.
Roof top was very nice.
Room was clean but old fashioned and very noisy. As it faced the busy Rudolf Sendig Strasse, there was traffic noise all the time, we were obliged to close the windows all night (and even then the noise was pretty loud). It's a pity the hotel gave us this room, especially after having found out that other rooms were available (I saw this too late otherwise I would have asked for another room). I imagine that the rooms facing the Badallee (the park in front of the hotel) are better. Don't understand why the hotel gave us this noisy room, especially when other more quiet rooms were available. Keeping in mind the high price of the room, I would have expected better.

The breakfast was excellent. The bed was comfortable. The coffee machine was nice - but there were no instructions on how to use it (I figured it out). The Bad Schandau Guest Card was good for city transport - but otherwise didn't bring much in the way of discounts (1 whole Euro at the local spa, which wasn't even applicable during their "Happy Hour.") Free glass of prosecco because I asked that my room not be cleaned during my stay - but the young woman told me "a glass for every day you don't have the room cleaned" and then it turned out to be only one glass - very petty in that regard for a hotel that considers itself "luxurious".
I made the big mistake of booking the "vacation apartment". This is fine if you want to cook for yourself, I guess, but it was in a sad little building about 150 meters from the hotel. It was up a flight of stairs - and what stairs - the nastiest, narrowest, most slippery spiral staircase I have ever seen. I am 64 with bad knees, and had to carry my suitcase up and down - it was hard enough to navigate without the suitcase! The bathroom was separated from the bedroom by the entire kitchen area - very bizarre.

We had a short stay for a little hiking trip during these weird pandemic times, so the town (and hotel) were almost empty, but the wonderful staff made our stay so lovely! They were really amazing with our 1.5-year-old even bringing out a little ball pit for him to plan in the restaurant/bar area. Really made our trip so pleasant and lovely!
The hotel was also generally nice, great location in the centre of the little town and close to all hiking routes, good facilities, good price and a very good hotel restaurant.
We’d definitely stay there if we came again.
Nothing much to dislike - the breakfast could start a bit earlier than 8, but that’s really only because our son gets us up at 6 so we had to wait:).

The hotel has an excellent location, close to Toskana Therme and town centre. The personnel was helpful and the breakfast had quite a variety of dishes, but not so many choices for vegetarians or pescatarians.
The furniture was, unfortunately, a bit worn down and the bed was far from comfortable.
