About this apartment rental
Enjoy a wonderful experience at this centrally-located place with two bedrooms, two baths, second floor apartment near the Convention Center, Chinatown, Center City and everything that Philly has to offer.
Located in the City Callowhill section, Callowhill is an up-and-coming neighborhood in the heart of Center City Philadelphia. Callowhill has a growing reputation for its vibrant arts and nightlife scenes. Fittingly, Callowhill neighbors the Edgar Allan Pоe National Historic Site. Featuring theaters, music venues, and other creatives spaces in converted factories and warehouses this trendy, artsy locale is also known as the Lofts District. Combined with a colorful arts presence, there is never a dull moment in Callowhill. Celebrate with friends at one of the neighborhood breweries or catch a show at Underground Arts or Union Transfer, which hosts events nearly every night of the week. Callowhill central location allows residents to walk to grab anything from authentic global eats to the hometown favorite, cheesesteak. This area is great due to its close proximity to the Temple University, Drexel University College of Medicine, and several other. A car isn't necessary, as most nearby places can be reached on foot or hopping on the subway. If you do opt to drive, several highways, such as Interstate 95 and the Schuylkill Expressway, can be reached within minutes. Lace up your walking shoes because this area is considered a walker’s paradise.
Getting to Callowhill by bike or on foot from surrounding neighborhoods is no problem. SEPTA’s Broad Street line also provides an easy in, with stops at both Spring Garden and Vine streets. It’s an area easily explored by car as well, though parking can sometimes pose a challenge (However, Vine Street features secure lots)

We were impressed with the unit and loved being so close to downtown. Will come back!

We had a good stay. Communication was good. Super easy check-in process. The apartment itself is as listed, it does seem a little bigger in the pictures, but it was what we needed it to be and as described, outside of the two sets of stairs you have to take to get there. Very clean. The only thing I wish I had known prior to booking is that it is a 2nd story walk-up, there was no elevator on property that I could find and this was not noted in the listing.

It was fine for a place to lay our heads at the end of the day. Very unusual floor plan. Nothing fancy in the space- cheap toilet paper and products. Place was clean enough, neighbor smokes a lot of weed and so the hallways are weed stinky. Location is great- not a lot of free parking, but there is a lot down the street that you can pay for 24 hour parking at a reasonable price.

This is a great little place in an excellent location. We were able to walk everywhere - Rocky steps, Chinatown, Reading Terminal, Independence Hall. It isnt huge but has everything you need. Check In and Out was super simple. Host communicated well.

Great location to many sights as well as metro stop and grocery store. The accommodations were nice and it was a quiet neighborhood. Very enjoyable.

Very nice place to stay. Everything was so clean. It smelled clean too!! The only downfall which is not any fault of the owner, the hall reeked of pot. Otherwise, a perfect place to stay!! Would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic and convenient location, safe neighbourhood. Quiet building. Gladys is very responsive.

We were in town for a music festival. Communication for the entire time with Gladys was painless and straight forward. The location seems kind of quiet I think it may be an old industrial area.
My only issue was parking. We got back after 11pm on Saturday and 1am on Sunday and there was no street parking. I was unaware until the day of check in that if no street parking was available that we had to use the public parking lot which was 25.00. However the lot was only a block or so away so that wasnt to bad. Just know it seems desolate at night....so be mindful of that.
Otherwise the location was everything we needed to be.

This property is very nice considering its reasonable price. It’s not right in the middle of the downtown museums/attractions but we were able to walk to most everything we wanted to see with less than a 15-20 minute walk. There are some fun restaurants/bars within a 5 minute walk. We had great and timely communication with the property owner and we had no issues during the stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience downtown Philadelphia. Thanks!

The property was exactly as advertised. I asked the host a million questions prior to and during my stay. They were all answered quickly and kindly.

Nice apartment in a convenient location. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go while we were in Philly. The host was very responsive.

Overall, we had a nice weekend. A couple of things, though. The right bedroom window is stuck open about 4”. It looked to me that the window frame was broken and couldn’t come the full way down. Also, it would help to have the condo listed as a second floor rental so persons with disabilities are aware of that before renting.

Location is superb. Walking distance to Convention Center, Reading Terminal, grocery, restaurants. Area is well lit at night for those concerned about walking around.
Description says it is on the first floor, but it is on the 2nd floor. Possible issue for those with disabilities.
There were plenty of towels, blankets, shampoo, etc.; however we could not find any laundry detergent or measuring cup so we bought them for our personal use.
Fortunately my husband is handy and fixed one of the bathroom doors so it would close completely and lock, plus fixed a bedroom door hinge so the door would not drag on the floor. You’re welcome!
The biggest reason I rated this property a 3 is because I apparently did not confirm Gladys’ rules of the property when I made the reservation and she would not respond to any request I made. I will say she did not refuse my payment though. Was it my forgetfulness that I had not responded with a confirmation? I cannot answer that. And if I forgot to confirm, I’m sorry. Note taken.
VRBO clearly says that the hosts will respond with instructions for entry days in advance. I had to call VRBO from the airport to say that I still did not have instructions to get in and requested their assistance. I would have been mid flight with no instructions for other members of the party and we got there much later than 4:00.
Despite the above, I had a great time.

We enjoyed a nice weekend at this two bedroom/ 2 full bath apartment. Appreciated the cleanliness, easy access, and very timely communication from Gladys the owner. We were visiting for the Philly Marathon and the proximity was perfect to get to the convention center and race start. Thanks for a great stay at a very reasonable price! Highly recommend!

Very clean apartment. Had some trouble with outside keypad but figured it out. Not knowing neighborhood or area I was skeptical when we got there but after seeing people out I relaxed and felt safe. I would recommend finding places to eat nearby before you go. Due to a late night venue there wasnt much open & we had to door dash McDonald's at 130 a.m.

Check in was a little strange. I thought we would get check in information a day or two before we arrived but I had to contact Gladys at 4 o'clock check in to ask how to do it. We were pleased with the apartment it looks like the pictures. It was a very hot day and the apartment was nice and cool. There was no ice or ice trays so reached out to Gladys and she got someone over to the apartment with ice and additional trays in an amazing short amount of time. We were very impressed. We will stay there again as it's close to everything.

This condo was a nice, clean, quiet stay for a single overnight in Philly for me and my kids. They were attending a concert at nearby Temple University that night.
Chinatown and the Rail Park were right around the corner and we didn’t have any trouble finding on street parking. The immediate area was a bit industrial, but it did feel safe.

If I could give 10 stars for communication I would. Gladys was very responsive from the beginning and very flexible when an issue arose on my end that caused me to have to split my trip with a colleague. Her willingness to work with us was appreciated.
When a maintenance concern arose with our booked apartment prior to arrival she was proactive and put us in a larger apartment and even offered to pay for our Uber over to the new location!
The place we ended up in was comfortable, clean and well maintained. If I ever need to return to the area I will look for one of Gladys properties first!
Thank you!

The owner of the property was fantastic with communication. The beds were comfortable and the house was spacious. The neighbors kept to themselves. There were a few minor issues with cleanliness, but overall a great place to crash. Finally, the proximity to the convention center was terrific

Place was just as described and owner was very easy to communicate with. It was a perfect little place for our group of four, three adults and a teenaged boy. Easy walk to Reading Terminal for shopping and great food and easy walk to catch the hop-on/hop-off bus to ride all around the sites of Philly! I would definitely stay here again!

My son and I came for the weekend and needed a place with two bedrooms. Good price, convenient location, clean, pleasant host. Would stay again

This rental was very easy to find as super great location it was just about two blocks away from the capital and you could walk all the way down Broad Street if you wanted to from there. Right outside of it was a nice bar with ample drink options and Better than average bar food on the opposite side of the street was also a café that had absolutely amazing breakfast and coffee for your morning 10 out of 10 you have to check this place out the only downside was finding parking but if you get there early enough in the day there should be ample in the street and that the entry directions weren’t given up on booking nor the day of arrival I had to contact on my own to find out the information and there are two different points of entry which wasn’t clear in the beginning but once we went through it the apartment was absolutely lovely very spacious and very clean
