This house is nice for it being over 100 years old. The only drawbacks are: 1. You have to access the backyard by exiting the front entrance and walking around the to the side gate. 2. The only entry and exit is the front door. 3. The front steps are from the old days where feet weren't as big as they are today, so be a bit careful. 4. The master bed felt a bit unstable, so keep that in mind. 5. There was an annoying car alarm that went off several times each night of our stay. This is probably not a regular occurrence, but when you stay in a neighborhood, you get neighborhood sounds. You could be disturbed in a hotel too I guess. Just understand that you are staying in an old house in a neighborhood near a university. The neighbors to the right (when facing the home) are pleasant with kids. The neighbors to the left are very quiet students. In fact, when we were checking out, they were all sitting on the top porch of their house medatating.

Our daughter attends Samford and performed in the annual Step Sing. The home and location was lovely for our stay in while visiting her. There is plenty of space which allowed us to have other family join us, including our granddaughter. The bonus room upstairs was a great space to hang out with our 2 year old granddaughter. The home is beautiful and reminder of construction and details from days gone by. The host is great and helpful throughout.
