About this house rental
Welcome to Harbor Hideaway! Witness the incredible experience of Horse Island where Marsh Tacky Horses roam in the distance. Take in the magical panoramic view, as far as the eye can see, featuring sounds of the ocean water and seabirds flying overhead - all while relaxing on a charming covered back porch or swinging on a hammock.
Recently renovated and beautifully decorated, with a coastal aesthetic and comfy vibes making you feel right at home.
This three-bedroom home offers a brand new kitchen, fully equipped, with new Stainless Steel appliances, spa bathrooms, a large porch with a screened-in area and a separate deck area for grilling, as well as an open and spacious floor plan.
The living room features two sliding doors creating a glass wall allowing for views from all angles. In addition to the 55" HD TV with streaming options, the electric fireplace is a fun way to create ambiance and warmth if needed.
There's plenty of entertainment at the house if staying in. Grab a book to read, play a few board games, enjoy a game of Cornhole, watch TV in any of the rooms, enjoy a home-cooked meal at our 8-person dining table, or simply sink into the couch and take a nap.
Once the tide lowers, the wild horses can be seen grazing in the distance. Grab a set of our binoculars and watch them eat and play, a truly unforgettable scene.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed for an enjoyable and relaxing week. Watching the horses in the evening was an added bonus. We would definitely recommend this home.

The home was clean and decorated beautifully! The lighting was great. It was a nice well stocked kitchen and room for everyone to cook! We loved seeing the wild ponies every evening.

Nice home and views. Very convenient to Hunting Island State park (beaches), activities and St Helena restaurants. I was hoping to be able to put in a kayak at high tide, but that wasn’t practlcal for us (there are launching and rental options within 5-10 drive). I’d recommend Coastal Expeditions.
Host was very communicative and responsive. We arrived a day early, and luckily no other guests were in the home. The host was understanding and flexible on altering our stay. The house was very clean and well organized. The host left very intuitive and helpful instructions and guidance. Nice touches - provided binoculars with which to better view the wild horses and other wildlife; provided a state park pass to make entry to Hunting Island State park free and convenient.

This place was heaven! It was so relaxing. Everything was as described but there is no way to ever put into words the relaxation you feel. The back screened in back porch was everything. Spent my mornings drinking coffee and my night there drinking wine and enjoying every relaxing second of it. Only 10-20 minutes from everything you could ask for. Do yourself a favor and book it fast so you can and enjoy firsthand this amazing place.

Wonderful! Arrived and greeted with wild horses grazing in distance. Relaxing sitting in screened porch watching the birds. Can't think of anything to say negative about this place. Nice cool breezes everyday. Lots of places to visit. Huntington Beach State Park a quick drive. Great restaurants. Just a beautiful place to watch the tides come in and out of the marsh. Hope to go back!

I hesitate to leave a good review because selfishly I want to keep this gem of a place all to myself. If you're looking for a peaceful, comfortable, out-of-the-way spot to unwind, unplug and soak in nature - this is the place. The owners have made certain to provide all the creature comforts most people come to expect and require on vacation but have done so without interfering with the amazing natural beauty that surrounds this house. The beds and furniture are comfortable and maintained (despite being a rental and constantly used). The linens are very nice, well-made and quite clean. The bathrooms and kitchen were sparkling clean. Good water pressure and nice hot water all around. Appliances in great condition and all very clean. One week's stay is never long enough. I am already dreaming of my next visit.

We just returned from a great week-long stay! With three teenagers, our dog, my wife and myself, the house and property had everything we needed. From the selection of games and puzzles and the fully stocked kitchen coupled with the huge screened in porch and the hammocks overlooking the sunrise and Marsh. Even the fire pit was positioned just right. The horses were in view a couple times each day and were a really cool addition to the already perfect view. Do yourself a favor and set an alarm for 30 minutes before the sunrise a few mornings. You won’t regret it. It was just close enough to the State Park beach and a few restaurants that the drive was easy. We visited Beaufort, Fort Fremont and Savannah, Ga. Loved our stay.

Loved our 6 week stay here! The host is extremely helpful and goes above and beyond. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. Had everything we needed to get started until we went to the store. The screened in porch has a beautiful view, including the wild horses! It's so peaceful and quiet, yet not far for restaurants, shops and site seeing. This was our first time in South Carolina and if we ever go back, we’ll be staying here!

We had an amazing time at Horse Island! The house was updated and clean, and you can't beat the view of the water. The screened in porch is a great hangout spot any time of day or night! The house has comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, lovely kitchen, and more. It's in quiet neighborhood with easy access to Beaufort and Hunting Island, and everything in between. The host was very easy to communicate with and replied instantly. So glad we got a chance to stay here and enjoy lowcountry!

The cottage is perfect for anyone seeking a serene, relaxing escape from the noise and fast pace of modern life. The views of the marsh are spectacular with loads of wildlife visiting the property throughout the day. The cottage has all needed modern amenities, very comfortable, well-maintained furniture and was incredibly clean. I look forward to my next trip to this very special place.

This was the cleanest property that I have ever rented. The hosts were wonderful and we didn’t feel like renters but more like guests. The location is great for both Hunting Island and Beaufort.

This rental was outstanding. The location is remote and quiet but close to anything you would want. Saw lots of wildlife too! (Thanks for binoculars since i forgot mine)

From the minute we drove up to the house, we knew we had picked the best place to stay. This was our 3rd Christmas staying in the Beaufort area and this by far surpasses the other homes. When we walked inside, the home was so welcoming with the open floor plan of the kitchen, dining and family room with screened in porch. The bedrooms were large with the master having its own bathroom and a view of the marsh and the gorgeous sky’s of sunset. In the mornings you don’t want to miss the sunrise and when the tide goes out the wild horses can be seen off in the distance. The house was very clean, the kitchen had everything I needed, the fire pit was relaxing to sit by. The home is in a quiet neighborhood and is within 30 minutes of excellent restaurants, shopping and entertainment. I have to give a huge thank you to our host, Austin and Kayla. Not only is the home beautifully decorated, Kayla had Christmas waiting on us when we arrived on Christmas Day. She had a small decorated tree that turned on every morning, coffee mugs filled with goodies, cookies and there was even something for our fur babies. I hope everyone who stays here enjoys this home as much as we did and I hope everyone helps take care of it while they are there.
