We had an overall great experience at Michanti. Great and friendly staff, foods great & the entire property is always clean including our room! They have ping pong anva and Macas at the top of the rooms. Only thing was there is construction right next to the hotel so it’s very loud. Luckily we only ate breakfast and left everyday for activities and such. If you’re planning on only staying at the hotel for relaxation I’d be mindful of that. Our room also occasionally got loud from (I’m guessing the motor) the A/C unit. I’d recommend Michanti over all!

Overall we like Michanti except the basic rooms. The beds are awful, really uncomfortable matress I could feel the springs and the bed was uneven. I had the 2 most awful nights barely slept. In the bright side I would say the food at the restaurant is excellent. The fish tacos,Quinoa bowl and the fry fish and drinks were great. I would highly suggest management to update the mattresses as when staying at a hotel it is primary for a good night of sleep. Hotel is cute though.

Absolutely outstanding customer service! So friendly! We were only there for a day, and we felt completely welcome and like they already knew us. Our room felt more hostel than hotel, but was comfortable and clean. Good breakfast, nice pool, and very centrally located in El Zonte.

We love it here! It’s definitely more quiet than other spots, but I appreciate that, it’s about a 10 minute walk from the main break and cute cafés and restaurants/ if your looking to lounge the pool is a perfect cool temp! The food here is great and they have specials every night. The staff is amazing and super kind, the long stay accommodations with kitchen and board rack definitely come in handy. Big Michanti fans, can’t wait to come back!

I stayed 2 weeks in one of the "long stay" rooms. So you know what you're getting:
- The food was excellent.
- El Zonte during the off-season is a very sleepy town.
- It's a 3 or 4 minute walk to get from Hotel Michanti to the beach.
- The rooms were clean and very basic: No TV, no hot water, cement floors (at least in the long stay rooms).
- The beds were comfortable
- The staff were gracious and friendly.
- You will need to cross the little river to get to the other side of El Zonte, which it seems to me has more hotels and restaurants.
Overall it was a good value.

Had a great stay here. Friendly atmosphere with yoga and salsa classes. The pool is a great way to beat the heat. There is a rooster that makes sure you get up and start your day. Bring ear plugs if you like to sleep in.

I can go on and on about this place it was INCREDIBLE! The staff is so attentive, it's super clean, the food is DELICIOUS, they have yoga classes, the pool is beautiful and clean, hammocks for relaxation, and it's truly a place you never want to leave. The beach is less than a 5min walk away. They even went as far as to reach out to me the night before I was getting there to help me arrange a pick-up from Santa Tecla. I cannot recommend this place enough. There aren't any shops here - this is definitely more of a relaxation place BUT you can get to El Tunco (shopping bars etc) which we did in 15mins its not really a hassle to get there - they arranged our drop off and pick up too! I am so glad I found this little piece of heaven in El Zonte. I cannot wait to come back. Those that wrote weird reviews about this place - I'm sorry but I DON'T GET IT! Book this place I promise you won't regret it.

Expensive rate, for poor rooms and conditions . I will expect more; i don’t have tv on the room, no light on the stairs for my room. No access to the beach and the publicity said “they have it”

I’ll start with what I liked. Incredibly kind and helpful staff. Nice pool and good menu with excellent food. Great location as only 2 mins from beach. What I didn’t like was all the construction around the hotel which they warmed me about. Also, the water situation was terrible. On three different occasions, I went into the shower to find there was no water. Once I was even totally lathered up and had to wipe all the soap off with a towel. I feel like this might be more of an infrastructure thing rather than limited to just this hotel. Finally, they offered to pick me up from the airport and it was $65. I found out later that Ubers usually charge around $30-$35.

Great location and amenities, just a short walk to an amazing beach and access to awesome tours. Did not like that locals showed up on Saturday and used the spot as their personal beach house

Nice pool area and included breakfast was great! Please note, you are not charged when booking online, it is just reserved and you must pay with a card at the hotel. Better to pay with cash (USD) to avoid fees hotel charges for using card.
