Lookout Summit retreat is the perfect place to relax with the whole family! Nestled in the woods atop Lookout Mountain in Fort Payne, you get the true cabin feel when staying here. You will be immersed in the outdoors while staying here! We are only 5 minutes away from Desoto State park, 15 minutes from Little River Canyon National Preserve, 10 minutes to BEAUTIFUL Desoto Falls, and right around the corner from the quaint town of Mentone. Trash can had been overturned and trash was scattered. Oven was fithy and did not work. Grill was filthy. Spiderwebs and debris all over outside areas. We enjoyed the quiet and the area. Will definitely come back to Fort Payne area

This property is absolutely beautiful. The cabin had everything we could possibly need. It is as spacious and clean. It felt like it was nestled among the trees. We could not have asked for a better experience. Our hosts were wonderful. They were open to communication and answered all my questions quickly. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for relaxation and beauty.

Beautiful cabin, well decorated and with high quality couches and bedding. Feels roomy even with a larger group! Perfect location- close to shops, restaurants and DeSoto State Park and Little River Canyon. We’ll be back!!

This property is very inviting and in a nice and relaxing part of the mountain near Fort Payne. The beds are very comfortable and it easily accomodated our group for the 3 days we were there. There are many things to do around this area and would recommend anyone looking for for a great place to stay near Fort Payne and the surrounding area to stay at. The hosts were very in touch with us through out our whole stay providing recommedations and things to do. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful cabin, well appointed and clean. Gorgeous views ! Great location , not far from Desoto Falls, Little River Canyon, and Fort Payne. Responsive hosts, easy checkin. We had an amazing time and are looking forward to spending our next Alabama vacation here!

The property is located on a heavily wooded site and is close to an area that looks over the valley. The house is laid out well and is comfortable. We have stayed there a few times attending horse competitions in Rainsville and it’s convenient.

This was a quiet, peaceful getaway. The cabin was very clean, atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. The area had many things to see and do. We look forward to staying again. We had a couple of storms, rain (lots) and thunder, after there were quite a few mosquitos. We brought mosquito repellant so we were set.

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful spring break here. Near many different hiking trails, good food, nice small town atmosphere. The hosts were very helpful and easy to communicate with. Would love to book again.

Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property surrounded by trees is every direction giving us the feeling that we were in a much more remote location than we actually were. Check in and out were seemless and the house was as advertised. Loved walking a short distance into the woods to follow the beautiful mountain stream as it flowed just a few yards on the side of the house. Will differently consider staying at the property again if in the area!

This is our second stay at this location. It is close enough to attend our horse competitions in Rainsville. We found it to be clean and comfortable - much better than a hotel. We will stay again in the future.

I’ve visited the Mentone/Fort Payne area several times and this has been one of my favorite stays so far. Beautiful cabin, great location, everything is close to it, there was nothing not to love about this place. Everything about the process was easy also and the host had excellent communication!

2 couples but room for 3, stayed two nights for the yard sale. Great location, beautiful home, clean comfortable and good parking. The host was available and the pricing is enticing we brought our fur baby too. If you’re looking for a cabin that seems secluded but is close to things to do then look no more.

Overall a great property with convenient to Desoto state park and Little River Canyon. Only discrepancy we had was the rental listing description stated all 3 bedrooms had king beds and 2 also had twin beds. In reality 2 of the king beds CONVERT to twin day beds, very misleading but overall our stay was very enjoyable.

There needs to be better cookware. One medium size, scratched up skillet was not large enough for our group. No potato peeler. We had to run the dishwasher after each meal. Not enough silverware. Toilets needed cleaning. Great location and beds. The double blow-up mattress has a slow leak and needs to be repaired or replaced.

Property was exactly as advertised and the owners thought of everything. The cabin was stocked with everything you could possibly need. The small creek behind the cabin was a just a short hike away and you could hear it from the back porch which made for some great relaxing time. Cabin was also just a short drive to many of the areas attractions.

This property fulfilled our every need. Large, CLEAN, attention to detail everywhere. Very comfy beds and furniture with all the peace and serenity we could ask for.
