Nice staff, great perks like bikes and beach towels

Updated and convenient, walkable to ocean, dining and shopping. Fridge filled with for-purchase drinks, but no freezer or microwave. So, had to purchase hit water for tea at on-site cart. Bed comfy, but pillows too big. Pool hours restrictive and no spa.

It’s like staying in Las Vegas. They don’t provide coffee maker so that you can buy from that coffee truck just outside the entrance. Plus, $25 charge for parking. It’s better than hotels in the resorts but still. Place is dated and only attractive due to it’s closeness to the center and shops, it’s only walking distance, if that’s what you’re in Kona for. Fridge/Mini Bar is well stocked with soft drinks/alcohol you can purchase, but no bottled water is provided for free.

For the price of the room of this property the location was excellent the rooms were spacious and clean they're near not exactly Beach where you can lay out and get a tan but you have access to the water at two different places that are extremely easy walkable to get to restaurants are all around you as well as bars and shopping, I know there are a few people complaining about they run out of coffee early but there is a coffee cart right outside the front door area sometimes you may have to pay for it sometimes you can get a certificate to get coffee there but really people you're saying bad things about this hotel because they ran out of coffee you can either go outside and pay for your own just around the corner or right there in their parking lot let's be real here for the cost of this hotel is semi-in expensive and if they run out of coffee deal with it.

Property was not as shown in pictures. Considerably worse. Faulty smoke alarm went off at midnight and three additional times. Mentioning it in the morning to the desk was met with indifference and offered nothing. She could have cared less.

I spent a week here with my wife and 4 year old daughter. Our first night was spent in one of their garden rooms. During a night of heavy rain, I discovered a mouse in our room at 1:30 am!!! The staff responded quickly and moved us to another room on an upper floor. The building for the overnight move, however, did not have an elevator so we had to lug all our luggage up a flight of stairs at 2 am. The following day they moved us to the main building, which has an elevator. A houseman helped us with our luggage, which we appreciated. All in all, we were not satisfied here. The staff was great, but the facility was not up to par.

The place is in need of a redo. Lots worn and needs replacing, painting, carpet, etc.
Stayed on the lower level facing the pool. In the morning the workers in the hallway outside were laughing, and very loud. I understand why now. The laundry is there as are the employees lockers...loud. Avoid the lower level at all cocts. In the morning the front desk staff said there was coffee in the lobby... a crowd assembled and stood around with everyone saying the coffee was out and they were bringing more. We waited for a bit but decided to just go out and get our own coffee. When we came back 30 minutes later the same people were there shaking their head saying they were still waiting.
You will be hard pressed to find a parking place on the grounds... we double parked to check in, then drove around for 40 minutes with no luck. Ended up parking 2 blocks away at Kamameha Hotel for 35 bucks a day, the Pacific 17 charges 25. They said they credited us the difference but gave us zero paperwork when we checked out so not even sure if they did. I really just wanted to get out of there asap. Check out at 11, we were gone but 915.

They charge a resort fee and then also without telling you until you arrive charge you $25 to park in their own parking lot

Lovely hotel with helpful friendly staff, it’s in a good location close to the beach, restaurants and shops. There is no bar but they have coffee cart which is open mornings only. We stayed for 10 days during the Ironman event. Also they have laundry facilities which is free to use only had to buy washing powder.

Great location and amenities.

It was decent. Not special at all. AC was broken and so noisy. Room was small and room cleaning never picked up trash. Front desk was friendly and there are many restaurants and cafes walkable.

It was the best location for the Ironman event. And the hotel was very comfortable and centrally located.

It was a decent stay for one night. Parking was a nightmare, as a gold member , not offered any of the supposed benefits. Had to tell the front desk that I was a gold member and was supposed to receive the $10 credit per room. She said, are you sure. Never offered room upgrade, the front seemed disinterested. Not a bad hotel, but inattentive staff. Pool closes very early. Room small.

Close enough to town for walking to places. The only complaint is that the beds were not comfortable.

Good enough for one night. Parking was terrible, lots of other patrons double parked and even though we paid, we barely found a spot.

Very clean and updated since it was the Kona Seaside. A ceiling fan in the room would have been nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The gate at the path leading to Alii was locked the entire time. It would have been convenient if it was open. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained.

Everything was absolutely epic, except for the fact that the fire alarm beeping from the battery going dead, turned on about 10 o’clock at night and did not turn off and I was scared that if I unplugged it, I might’ve signed something in the waiver saying I wasn’t gonna disable the fire alarm and so me and my child had to sit in there with the baby all night long Not knowing what to do because I didn’t want to unplug the battery. Frustrating or awkward and uncomfortable, especially if they’re changed or checked every few months right?so the batteries don’t go dead and they’re supposed to be wired in so it shouldn’t be beeping. I don’t know much about that stuff but it wasn’t peaceful past bed time at all. We were later over from a missed plane and honestly didn’t even have it in me to get dressed and go to the desk after 10. Huge shout out to Ethan at the front desk that Boy took care of anyone and anything that came up. He was so busy every time we passed him with lines of ppl he was making happy I couldn’t even dream of asking him to leave the desk to help me. He smiled through of ppl and mean ppl and drunk ppl! He did great!

Maybe the best staff I've encountered at a hotel

The location is amazing. All the good restaurants are right on the boardwalk. You don't have to go far at all steak, seafood, burger, shaved ice, I think I saw sushi too. Definitely recommend Fish Hopper. The hotel has beach chairs, towels and umbrellas for you to borrow for the day. And coffee at the lobby during morning time. You can also rent their bike for free. They also have free self service laundry for you to use. But you need to get your own detergent. You can get that in the ABC store on the boardwalk. Free Wash & Dry. That's the $25/day amenity fees are for. It actually will show on your hotel.com billing. It's not hidden. I like them honest. They also has chilled water machine and ice machine on the first floor. If you have a car, and you want to use their lots, there's another $25/day parking. And the parking got a little tight at night in the main lot. If you got a good spot already, Don't move it until you really have to. They have a overflow lot about 5 mins walk from the property. And the staffs their are very nice and courteous. I love them all. My room has a great view at the harbor.

A true gem! Friendly, helpful staff. The king bed was comfortable in a large room with a balcony. The location has easy access to the pier and to other tourist attractions. Places to eat & a convenience store is in walking distance. I will definitely stay here again!

It was excelente, charming and acomodating. Did a last minute reservation because of mixup in my flight schedule (when we booked we didnt take into consideration the time change so we arrived one day early. We needed a place to stay the night and they pulled through and we are thankful.

Loved staying here. Great staff and very convenient to everything. Only thing I didn’t like is you get no bill or invoice and I got extra charges on my cc but yet used nothing in the room. I would prefer a detailed bill

Great location one block from the sea on Ali’i Drive with eating and shopping options. Also close to other shopping centers, gas and fast food restaurants. There are no laundry facilities on the property but there is a laundry service few blocks from off property.
