This hotel is amazing, we'll be back soon.

Had the Romance package with rose petals to the bath and bed and champagne and chocolates and my wife was amazed I could still be romantic and loved it very much and the old mansion style, she loved!

Feel so privileged to stay at the Cotton Mansion. Beautiful, top floor, spacious rooms with view of Duluth harbor in the distance. My sister and I were in the Billiards Room with full kitchen, 2 king-size bedrooms, large bathroom, living room. Such a luxury to have so much space at the same price of a regular hotel. Breakfast was homemade muffins, fruit, yogurt, great coffee. We will be back!

Very nice place to stay. Unique experience. If i had one suggestion it would be to either buy a tv that the background light turns off when you turn the tv off or provide a dark, light curtain to cover it. I found it hard to sleep with that light on all night.

Beautiful property

It was a new experience for my wife and I to stay in a stately old mansion. You have to put away from your mind any concepts of modern amenities, like a pool and full-service bar, because this is a different kind of facility. Your experience here is focused on the grandeur of the place, the quiet mood that surrounds you, and the feeling of history that you get when you walk around. There is, of course, full internet service and TV with three quality streaming services available. It was nice to explore the city during the day, and then come "home" to a rich, quiet accommodation with massive facility basically all yours to enjoy.

The historic nature of the property was impressive. The furniture and decorative elements were gorgeous. The morning treats were good. Everything was spotless and secure. There was an electrical strip for plugging in devices.
However, this property is not for anyone with mobility issues. The staircase is long without sufficient railing. My room had a jacuzzi with shower but it was inaccessible to me because the tub surface was slippery. And bring a book light if you intend to read in the evening.

What a treat to see this wonderfully kept mansion! Beautiful architectural details.

Nothing unique about this property it's an old mansion there are a lot of them in Duluth some of them that an updated as being B is better than others this to me was totally thoughtless overall very few lamps very few light switches it was advertised as a bed and breakfast it was not there was no breakfast when the people that own the suite called me and I said no breakfast she says oh no haha did they advertise it on Expedia so no I would not recommend this place to anyone also it had no live TV the love seat was an overstuffed dirty cloth piece of furniture that I would not sit on unless I put towels down the facility itself was dark and uninviting I was raised in Duluth I've been in many mansions this one just looks like they didn't even bother to try it's an old place people will be impressed so I wasn't

Very unique, loved the style and architecture. Lovely area of period homes; quiet. Outside needs some work, roof was being done.
What I didnt like was the room we were in had a jacuzzi right in the bedroom area which I felt ruined the ambience. But we chose that room,so our fault.

The Cotton Mansion was historical and interesting. It was a unique experience.

The room was absolutely exquisite. Such a unique property, very peaceful, it was a wonderful weekend getaway for Couples.

The place was absolutely beautiful! Couldn’t get the water warm enough for the jacuzzi so that was a bit of a bummer. But the place is amazing. Will be staying there again for sure!

We love, love, loved our time at the mansion and using the common areas. Our room was great. The music and sunroom were my favorite parts of the mansion. Would love to come back next winter to enjoy some more relaxation!!

Loved the unique experience! Will definitely come back again

This place is such a gem. I was so impressed with how nice it was and convenient to book. There are rules to follow. Be courteous and be in the know prior to arriving so you don't look out of place. I would be happy to come back and visit the Cotton Mansion.

Beautiful old house. Nice and quiet. Room was nicely appointed. Love the big jetted tub but question the cleanliness of jets as when i turned it on, moldy sediment came out. The coffee machine in dining area was awesome but the treats put out were awful. Enjoyed our stay and i would definitely go back.

A very nice spot for a weekend stay, interesting old mansion that had a lot of character. Very clean and comfortable. Only concern was that we had neighbors in the studio apartment next door. There is very little sound barrier between the two apartments with only a door that separated our living area from theirs... that allowed us (and I'm sure our neighbors) to hear pretty much all conversations had. Area of improvement for privacy, sleeping comfort for guests in the murphy bed, and end of day relaxing just watching a movie.

Awesome place to stay. Great suite/apartment. Staff were helpful and made sure our needs were met. Price was great. Would highly recommend and will stay again.

Great communication prior to our arrival. The mansion was beautiful and conveniently located to all of the tourist activity. It was nice to be so close and have a quiet neighborhood to retreat to.

This is a beautiful 100+ year old mansion. Being that it is over a hundred years old, it has some quirks. For instance, most of the doors to the entry and the suites need to be adjusted or planed, as they rub against the door frame. The hot water can take a couple minutes to actually be hot. Again this is a mansion that is over the century mark. I found our room to be spacious. I loved the high ceilings, the carved woodwork, oh, and the grand stairway...wow! I found the price of our stay to be well worth the opportunity to stay in a historical site. I found the continental breakfast to be marginal. The pastries were sub-par, the coffee in the dining room was okay. The selection and quality of fresh fruit was very good. Dining in the dining room, reading in the parlor and chatting with my wife in the solarium was grand, indeed. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Unique experience. Very quiet and secure. Loved the surrounding neighborhood and proximity to downtown. Everything was clean and comfortable. Communication with staff was good as well.

The mansion was a very cool place to stay! The keyless checkin and entry was stemless. The house was very clean, the bed was very comfortable.
We stayed in the Mary and Josephine suite. The soaker tub was a bit tricky to get in and out of——and we are pretty agile! The shower wouldn’t turn on—that was pretty inconvenient. I’d hate to think the broken shower is an ongoing issue. One drawback to no onsite staff was this couldn’t be addressed prior to checkout.
Breakfast was a mix of prepackaged and fresh pastries and fresh fruit. I reached out to the property management company a week prior to our arrival asking if they could provide a gluten free option as I have Celiac disease. I was pretty bummed that they had packaged banana bread—but no GF.
Overall a nice place to stay.

Excellent property - very nicely done. Loved the reconditioned Mansion and the history.

The cotton mansion was a neat experience and I enjoyed it very much. The only negative thing I would say is that someone in one of the other rooms kept trying to log into our network on the tv. We finally gave up and turned it off after it happened three times. Other than that, it was great!

Overall a nice experience! Very clean, antique but with modern touch

Really cool building. So much history in this place. The decor was perfect for the building. Seemed to be a little short on hot water but everything was just so interesting. We loved our visit

Getting in and out of shower was difficult due to height of tub

We have stayed here several times before when it was a B&B and had a great time. Not the same experience. No breakfast unless you pre-order it, which they don't tell you until afterward. Regardless, they decided not to have any breakfast because of the marathon, not just Sat. but also Sunday, which was pretty disappointing. They did have some muffins and scones out, the same ones each day and coffee. No warning was given. The most irritating thing was the lack of notice that a very loud (70-80 music band) block party was held Saturday afternoon until after 9;30 pm right outside our room! Of course then incredible price gouging due to the marathon, was ridiculous and not even having a breakfast. Jeez. Great room, no complaint there, but will try other options in the future.
4.5
This is a gorgeous property. It always feels like a privelege to stay there. We have the disadvantage of having stayed here when it was a B&B, so we miss the personal touch - the greeting, the ad hoc history lesson, the breakfast service, etc. Even given that it is now "boutique hotel" we were disappointed that the coffee creamer was empty, the coffee wasn't made when we came down in the morning, and the assortment of "pastries" were Speedway-quality muffins and scones that seemed like they may have been frozen and thawed. The biggest issue was that the property may have sent out the access codes promptly at 3PM, but it went to the expediapartnercentral e-mail address, so I had to call and have them send the codes directly to my own e-mail address. The information from the original e-mail was not forwarded to us until the next DAY, which obviously wa of no use at all.

Beautiful, historic building. Guiet, love the no kids policy. Great place to get away!!

Beautiful house and spacious rooms. We had an excellent stay.

We had multiple issues during our stay with extremely loud neighbors, not getting any breakfast because the greedy people in the main Mansion ate everything before we could get over there. The room in the carriage house was okay but had some flaws. No hot water for the tub, shower products were no good, cold room, etc. After talking to the manager they promised me a refund but it has been four days and I never received one even though they said they sent it! We do not appreciate being lied to so we will change our review. Awful!

Way better than I expected

The home is kept clean and beautifully decorated. The property management is prompt at answering questions and phone calls. Everything was cozy and quiet. Beautiful place to stay.
