About this house rental

Welcome to our little getaway home.

We are located just 5 minutes from the gate entrance of The Joshua Tree National Park and only 2 minutes from the village. This gorgeous 4 bedroom and 2 bath home is set on a 1/2 acre of land in the highly sought after Quail Springs Estates area of Joshua Tree. Besides our excellent location our views are amazing. Our east-side mountain view welcomes the most beautiful sunrises and picturesque sunsets.
The space
Feast your eyes on the massive curb appeal of this home as you approach from paved Elwood Street – beautiful mature landscaping includes palms, shade trees, water-wise plants and extensive rock work, while the clean concrete drive leads to a fully finished 2 car garage. The sidewalk beckons you to enter the home, where you find yourself in a large living room with vaulted ceilings, newer luxury vinyl plank flooring, and plenty of space to spread out in. Tile flooring leads you into a huge, open kitchen and dining area. The kitchen features gorgeous countertops and cabinetry as well as brand new Samsung stainless steel appliances (including gas stove!), while the dining space includes a cozy wood-burning fireplace for ambiance and supplemental heat, and a french door leading out to the backyard patio and pool space – great for entertaining! Moving down the hall towards the bedrooms, you'll appreciate the extra storage space the built-ins provide. The master bedroom is impressive with more vaulted ceilings and a private slider to the backyard pool area, while the master bath enjoys tile countertops, a tub/shower combo, separate commode room and a large walk-in closet. You'll be pleased to note that both the guest bedrooms are also well sized with vaulted ceilings, while the conveniently located guest bath is well appointed with more tile countertops and a tub/shower combo. But the real star of the show is the backyard living space – exit through the slider to be greeted by an extensive concrete patio area that leads to the deck of a beautiful above-ground pool. The deck is completely level with the back patio and between the two provides a generous space for patio furniture and entertaining, not to mention easy pool access. The backyard is completely fenced in by a block privacy wall, while a gate also leads to a huge side yard that is currently open to the imagination. The Good: - Great front yard with lots of shade. - Super cute kitchen and had the necessities. - Beds were really comfy. And the rooms and house in general had a lot of space. - Great location - Property manager was nice and quick to answer and assist. The Bad: - Did not accurately match what the pictures showed. No tv's in any of the rooms, which is not awful but the pictures shouldn't have shown them. - There wasn't an umbrella at the table by the pool as the picture displayed. - Both grills were filthy. - Dog hair all over the shag carpet in the living/tv room and in the vacuum. The vacuum when trying to use to clean up all the dog hair smelled like dog poop. - The smart lock that you use to get into the front door was jammed and wouldn't open the door consistently. Looks like whoever was at the house just before we arrived may have broken or jammed it. Had to wait a day for a locksmith to come and fix the door. This seems to be a common occurance with reading another review. - The lights in the rooms were wonky. Would randomly turn on and off. When you just one light off in one room, it would turn on in a different room. - Master bedroom was insanely hot in the morning with the sun shining through the non-functional sliding door to the backyard. The fan and AC didn't help. Should definitely invest in tinting. There hasn't

Location, location, location = A+ House is very close to a northern entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. The house is large, 4 bedrooms. Beds and bedding are new, towels are good, ample toilet paper, paper towels. Great potential for a fantastic stay. There are however, several negatives to report. The address listed in vrbo is incorrect. There are two digits transposed which made for some frustration as that address did not exist. After finally finding the house by using a photo, the self check-in lock was not working. A call to the host resolved this issue. The pool which was advertised prominently had no water in it, just a big sand box in the back yard. There is no “welcome book” so figuring out normal stuff was a challenge. For example, it took a bit to get the thermostat working, lights, etc. In addition, I had to wash the silverware before using it. There was no dishwasher soap. There were no bedside lamps in the bedrooms, only overhead lights with fans attached. One of the internal doors got locked and while there is a tool in a box in a kitchen drawer to remedy this, it took an hour to figure this out. The backyard has a firepit, but the cover on it was square instead of round and sharp, and the area was not inviting. At the end of the stay, I am used to following directions about linens, garbage, etc. As I have said, there were no directions. Sigh. This house has great potential, but the host has some work to do to make it top notch. A fabulous visit in park.
