About this house rental
Coco Di Mama is a lovely 3 bedroom 3 bathroom home nestled within a natural 1.1 acre enclave. From the beautifully landscaped grounds shaded by mature native trees and garden pergola, to the clean modern interiors, the quality and attention to detail of this property becomes apparent.
Two bedrooms with en-suite baths flank the open plan living area, kitchen, and dining area, and each room has large windows and doors that open onto the porch and the Sea of Abaco views. The third bedroom and bath is accessed separately below the main entry, offering an additional level of privacy for those guests. This bedroom location is a little funky. It is accessed underneath the main house stairs. It is completely separate.
Paved walkways, and lush green lawns lined with native coral stone connect the lower level laundry to the outdoor garden areas and lead down to the 80 foot “L” shaped dock. With 6 feet of water depth at low tide, the dock offers space for a boat to tie up. It is recommended that you contact Orchid Bay Marina for a protected slip for larger boats in case it gets windy (It is often windy, ha!). The seas get bumpy if the winds come from the South or West. Boat Lift is not included in the rental. Our insurance will not allow us to rent out the lift. Please plan accordingly. Additional peace of mind comes from the 20KW standby generator.
This modern island home is set on 250 feet of water frontage amidst the limestone cliffs of the south end of Great Guana Cay. These cliffs are one of the few remaining nesting areas for the once-endangered Atlantic tropic bird. From the home and the surrounding 1,865 square foot of decks and porches, you can watch these small white birds feeding just offshore over the turquoise colors of the Sea of Abaco. Pristine sandy beaches on the Atlantic side of the island are just a short walk from the house, and the vibrant out-island settlement is just a 5 minute golf cart ride away.

We recently stayed at this rental home. While the view was beautiful and the accommodations were good, several issues severely impacted our experience. Firstly, the WiFi was inconsistent and practically unusable, even outside frequent power outages. This was extremely frustrating, causing TV buffering and issues checking in for flights. Reliable internet is a basic necessity. Secondly, the dock was a major disappointment. It's unsuitable for securely docking a boat, especially in winds over 10 mph, posing a significant risk of damage. When we asked to use the owner's lift we were told their boat couldn't be moved as they had left the keys in the US. This forced us to find alternative docking for five nights, incurring extra expenses. In winds over 15 mph the dock's problems worsen. Tides, boat traffic, wind, and storms rock your boat off the moorings as waves reverberate off the seawall, creating a washing machine effect even in light winds. Not calming when relying on your boat for vacation. The owner has a boat lift and a 6-person cart available on the property but not to renters. Offering these amenities would vastly improve the experience. Advertising regarding dockage is misleading. Lastly one bedroom is separate from the main house and only accessible from outside, which was not disclosed in the listing. This was problematic during bad weather as guests had to brave the elements to reach their room. Overall, great views and helpful caretakers, but will not be returning.

This house is beautiful and the view is breathtaking!!! Upon arrival, Noah helped get us settled and moved in. The house was very clean and has all the basic amenities, plus some, that you need for cooking. The house has a portable travel crib which helped with less packing on my end. You have plenty of beach towels to use, too. The downstairs room has a bunk bed with a trundle, making it perfect for young kids. The neighborhood is gated and very quiet. My son enjoyed our daily golf cart ride and all the chickens running around. Great Guana is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. There are several very good restaurants on the island which makes it very convenient if the weather isn't suitable to go in the boat somewhere else to eat. Everyone there is so friendly!! Highly recommend staying here!

Have made multiple visits to Guana and this was the first time staying at Coco Di Mama. It was an excellent place to stay. The home was very nice, and well equipped with everything you would need. Everything was in great condition and we had no issues at all. Every time the electricity went out (which happens on the island), it was awesome having the automatic generator. The views from the home are great. The location on the south end is also very good for privacy, and it is still not a far golf cart ride to town. The dock was great for docking our boat during the day after fishing and catching lobster; it is very protected. We kept the boat overnight at Orchid Bay, just in case of unexpected weather, but would have been fine leaving it at the house. Decent snorkeling just south of the house, and we actually caught a few decent fish off the dock as well. Definitely plan to stay again on our next visit to Guana. Would highly recommend Coco Di Mama.

Coco di Mama was a five star house. We have visited the Abacos, Exuma and Eleuthera over the past 8 years. This house was one of the best that we have had. If you can’t find a way to relax and enjoy yourself at this house, there’s a good chance it’s your own fault or you just can’t be pleased and this type of vacation is just not for you. You’re all-inclusive resort material in other words. The owner Chase was very helpful before our trip even started and the caretaker Jenks was on the ready to assist with anything if needed. The back deck and dock are situated perfectly for hours of relaxing. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed. Thankfully it has a very big backup generator and we never had any outage issues. I just wish my family could be there right now and that I wasn’t having to sit here with only pictures of it all. All good things must come to an end, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start planning for next time. I’d definitely recommend the house.

This was our first time visiting the Bahamas and Coco Di Mama did not disappoint. We loved everything about the location and enjoyed fishing right off the boat dock. The property owner and caretaker were very responsive and helped us make sure everything went smoothly. Guana is situated in the middle of all the islands we wanted to visit which made it the perfect spot for us!

Coco Di Mama is a great home. It is modern and has an exceptionally well stocked kitchen. The outdoor areas are plentiful, the views are great, and the grounds are meticulously maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed much in part the to availability and immediate responses from the caretaker. Jenks was quick to help when needed and add a laugh or two along the way. Snorkeling right off the front of the lot is great and we even saw a pretty decent size reef shark. Thankfully he was not at all interested in snorkelers. Great house. We will be back soon.

We enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing stay at Coco Di Mama. Every morning we watched the turtles and the beautiful tropic birds. We snorkeled and swam right off the dock. In evening we enjoyed cocktails on the deck while watching spectacular sunsets over the Sea of Abaco. The home was meticulously kept, comfortable, and well stocked. Coco Di Mama is a fabulous place to vacation!
