Region: Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.
Town: The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.

Property was a good size with large rooms and was well equipped.
The shower was a bit of a pain because the water takes a long time to drain away and I think a washer is missing from the shower head.
The shower could do with a shelf or something to put soap and shampoo on.
For what we paid I thought it was acceptable.
5.0
Well furnished, equipped, warm and comfortable and clean and well maintained. Good sized rooms. Very easy access to shops and the facilities in Amble, which was also central for travelling to other places.
The only improvement would be a chest of drawers in the bedrooms. As others have remarked, the pedal bin doesn't work and the back outdoor area might be smartened up a bit. Parking on the Saturday evening we arrived was a bit difficult, easy during the week and we could see the place getting busy on the final Friday evening.
Overall a good place to stay.
