We were 2 couples during ten days in the middle of June. From the start, Natasha, the property manager was very helpful to guide us to the apartment and answer all of our questions. Mind you, one of us spoke Italian! Thank god for the pool right there on site, so refreshing! The accommodations are bright, airy and private. Basic kitchen with a mini fridge requiring to shop on a daily basis or go to the restaurant. By the way we recommend Coccorone and Re-Tartu!
You will reach all the nice cities between 15 and 45 minutes of driving, and the valley is beautiful!

Had a wonderful stay and enjoyed all that Montefalco and the surrounding areas had to offer. Lots of wineries and sites to see and we were able to live like a local for a week in this beautiful region of Italy. The only recommendation I have would be to verify with the owner ahead of your stay if there will be access to the pool. We booked this placed based off the pool photos and courtyard being available and it was not when we checked in. The owner did make another pool available to us at a different property but it was not the experience we were hoping for. Other than that our stay was perfect and the property manager was very accommodating even with our language barrier.

The apartment was well located in the village but like so many others, we had an awful time finding it. When I finally located our greeter, she was less than helpful and impatient. She speaks only Russian and Italian - no English whatsoever. The apartment was lacking, especially in the kitchen - single cup stovetop percolator, utensils in a plastic bin on the floor unsealed, freezer didn't work etc. There were absolutely no instructions in the apartment that were in English - Italian only, except for the last line encouraging us to give them a great review. There was no internet or television, even though we contacted the owner and he promised to have it fixed. There was an ironing board but no iron, hair dryer did not the proper adapter, the tile was falling off the shower, pot light were burnt out. The outdoor garden was overgrown and all the walkways were covered in moss, making it a very slippery walk. The pool was not open even though the weather was great. Francesco finally showed up late on our last of 5 days and was rather arrogant. He thought he could give us a tour of his "palace" to make amends.

This apartment is excellent for 2 X adults and 3 children. Smack bang in the middle of town, warm, secure and full of character. Recommended...

We loved our lodging in Montefalco, both because the Benozzo apartment and its terrace were lovely and because the town was a wonderful, charming, and quiet place to stay for visiting Umbria. The apartment is restored space true to the medieval roots of the building and town; it is very nicely furnished, clean, secure, private, and well-appointed. We discovered two really good restaurants - Foresteria Alzatura and Coccorone, each a short walk from the apartment. The first was particularly good, with outstanding, original dishes. I recommend that the traveler get clear directions in advance from the host about how and where to meet, with a good pdf map of Montefalco and the location of the gate and apartment. There are four gates (Portas) to this tiny town with some very narrow streets and sharp turns. GPS alone may not get you to the right spot. Once we figured it out, we had no problem using this spot as a jumping off point to visit other locations in Umbria. We would strongly recommend it.

This was the perfect place to stay with 2 small children and enjoy Umbria and Montefalco. The apartment is beautiful and the pool and shaded courtyard were a delightful retreat from the intense afternoon sun. Benozzo is close to the main plaza where the girls could run around while we sat at an outside cafe to enjoy a late afternoon glass of wine. The apartment is comfortable and roomy.
It would have been helpful if a few things such as laundry detergent and some olive oil were stocked in the unit. We had to buy both for just one use.
I will stay at Benozzo again when I am in the area.

L'Arco Romanico was exactly what we wanted for our holiday, a quiet place in the heart of a historic and beautiful town, with access to good restaurants and places of interest nearby.
We stayed in the Benozzo apartment which was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped & maintained. We enjoyed the traditional architecture and the wonderful and charming views from each window. Although we were too early in the season to enjoy the pool, the spacious garden was a lovely place to soak up the spring sunshine. During the summer it would be a perfect spot for alfresco meals.
Francesco, Edyta and Martin were all very helpful and responsive. Francesco's family have lived in Montefalco for generations and it was fascinating to learn a bit about the town's history from one whose family has lived it first hand!
Montefalco is a wonderful place. It's hill top location allows sweeping 360 degree views across the valley to hills and mountains beyond. The traditional stone architecture, maze of cobbled lanes, and bells heard from various ancient churches create a timeless atmosphere. It's location has not been marred by the intrusion of large motorways, although it is close enough to the road system to give easy access.
A one minute walk up the cobbled lane from L'Arco Romanico is the spacious and attractive Piazza which is home to excellent places to dine and buy local food & wine. There are also places to sit out and enjoy all the Medieval civic architecture while trying the variations of espresso coffee that the Italians do so well. Despite all this, it is uncrowded and unhurried. We walked up on Sunday morning to see the children from the nearby church playing a ball game in the middle of the Piazza.
The town and area is well endowed with Franciscan heritage and Renaissance art. We enjoyed learning about the life and influence of St Francis on the region and far beyond. The Gozzoli Benozzo frescoes in the local museum provided a history of his life which complemented our trip to Assisi, about a half hour's drive away. Spoleto is another beautiful and fascinating place within easy reach of Montefalco. We even made a day trip to Rome from our base at L'Arco Romanico.
For us, Montefalco had great balance, there was enough, but not too much! All the things you want easily accessible, but without noise, hurry, or crowding. A real gem!

We spent just over two weeks in the Benozzo apartment, one of three apartments in a secluded and quiet courtyard with a lovely garden and small pool. We couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodation, which turned out to be everything the description said and more. The apartment is very well maintained, and any questions or requests we had were promptly attended to by Edyta and her husband, who look after the property. The owner, Francesco, was extremely helpful prior to our arrival with excellent suggestions about things to do in the local area and restaurants to visit. We are already thinking about a return trip to Montefalco and would certainly consider staying in this apartment again.

We 'discovered' Montefalco about 10 years ago and fell in love with it instantly but couldn't find any suitable accommodation until 4 years ago after Francesco had completed the renovation of these three apartments. We have been back every year since and will be back next year. The apartment is perfect and were it not for the attractions of nearby towns and villages we could happily stay in Montefalco all week. The village really is relaxing and the shops, cafes and restaurants can supply all your needs. Our only worry is that as travellers discover this oasis of tranquillity and keep returning, one day we may find it full and then where shall we go!

My husband and I spent four nights in this beautifully restored historic apartment in the heart of Montefalco. We selected Benozzo and could not have been more pleased. The location is absolutely perfect...just a three minute walk to the Plaza. We arrived with our friends, who stayed in the Perugino Apartment, in the midst of a huge rainstorm. We were met by friends of the owner, Francesco, and escorted to our apartments. The entry is very private and secure. It is directly off one of the small stone passageways right off the Plaza and has a locked gate entry. As you walk in, you go up a few stairs and there is the beautiful courtyard and terrace, complete with swimming pool. Of course, it was covered up this time of year! The pictures on the website do not do it justice. It is very large and beautifully landscaped. The entire courtyard and terrace are exclusively reserved for the three apartments which Francesco owns.
We were very excited about the large living area and HUGE fireplace. I asked Francesco before our arrival to please have lots of firewood for us, so our first night was spent in front of a blazing fire, listening to the rain outside and sipping on some Sangratino di Montefalco vino. Francesco came over to meet us that evening. This effort on his part, especially considering the weather, was so very typical of the very professional communication he displayed from our very first interaction via e-mail. Francesco lives and works in Rome but comes to stay in his family's Palazzo in Montefalco during the weekends. We were so very fortunate to be invited to tour the Palazzo and see firsthand the restoration results.
The kitchen in the apartment was very well equipped, with LOTS of pots, pans, and dishes. The bathrooms were brand new and simply beautiful. We have been to Italy nine times and always stay in apartments. Even though these apartments date to the 11th century, they have been lovingly restored and are a joy to stay in. You will not be disappointed by selecting Benozzo for your trip to Montelalco
