About this villa rental
The Historic Galloway House overlooks the most beautiful Caribbean beach on Long Island. Perfect location for a secluded holiday. Situated on 5 acres, this home is the perfect base for your Out Island adventures. The beach is powdered sugar white in contrast to the turquoise blue sea. Because of the location on the Caribbean side of the island the waters are calm, swimming pool like. Take a sea kayak from the house down the "Lazy River", remnant of what once was Diamond Crystal Salt Works. The area is now an amazing wildlife area stretching for miles behind the house. Hike the beach in either direction without seeing another soul, true tranquility.
The house is modest yet comfortable. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with open living area and kitchen. If you like to cook the kitchen is well equipped. Comfortable small dining area in the kitchen as well as island seating. Outdoor eating area on the covered patio as well as BBQ. AC and ceiling fans in all rooms. Comfy beds and towels, games, books and internet. Outdoor shower for washing off the sand after a day at the beach.
Covered patio overlooking the sea for sunset cocktails. The property is a bird lovers paradise. Watch the Mockingbirds, Bananaquits, Doves, Herons and Hummingbirds, as you sip your coffee in the morning. You might be lucky enough to have a Flamingo fly over and nesting Osprey are located nearby. Gazebo on the beach for late afternoon naps on the hammock.
The property is less then five miles from Clarence Town, the capitol of Long Island. You will find the most beautiful churches, a small grocery store and bakery as well as a wonderful restaurant at the Flying Fish Marina. Wander the island north or south and you will find the most wonderful Bahamians as well as beautiful beaches, fantastic food and incredible scenery.

Galloway house the special blue house, we left with so many beautiful memories. The house is a treasure because you can find anything inside including car seats and vacuum not many rental houses have these items We meet coco the cat who comes at night and in the morning to eat :) This was our first time to Long Island Bahamas and this Island became one of our favorite.Finding groceries store and liquor was easy compared to other island's.
The beach in the back of the house was beautiful with so many beautiful sea shells, perfect for snorkeling.
Thank you for accommodating us and we definitely coming back.

This house was perfect for our family of 5; 2 adults and 3 kids ages 7-10. The house is older, but well cared for and well cleaned. There are plenty of kitchen and bathroom supplies stocked in the house which is very nice when you are in such a remote location. The road to get to the house can be a little rough, but just rent a good 4x4 and you'll be fine. And the very best part of the house is that it is on what is probably the best beach on Long Island (rivals CSM in my opinion) and you will probably have it all to yourself most days! Plus kids (or adults!) will enjoy the lazy river and the rope swing over by the inlet that comes into the ocean right by the house. The caretakers of the house are great and they also own one of the best restaurants on the island, Max's Conch Bar- a must visit when you are on Long Island! It is a very special place and we're thankful to the owners for sharing it with all of us! Looking forward to returning again hopefully soon!

The pictures do not do this place justice. The house was perfect for my husband, myself and two teenage daughters. The air conditioning worked well. And the beach the beach the beach!!! I can’t say enough good things about this property. We had 11 unforgettable days. Erica‘s Bakery and the little Sea Wind grocery store were our go to’s for food staples. The road in and out is definitely rough but it is so worth it to get to this out-of-the-way, private, quiet, beautiful serene spot. The guide to the island that the owners provided was incredibly useful. We kept a printed copy with a map in the car. It was a 3000 mile journey from Seattle, Washington, and we would do it again in a heartbeat💙💙💙

Galloway House is a neat place to stay on Long Island. Location is remote yet convenient, and the location on Galloway Beach is fantastic. Easy access to Clarence Town, Dean’s Blue Hole, Gordon’s, etc, and exploring the island and its beaches is a good adventure.
As described, the house is older but everything worked well and we had no complaints. An excellent choice for my wife, kids ages 5 & 8 and myself. We would gladly stay again.

We had a wonderful 2 weeks staying on Galloway beach. Our 3rd time staying on Long Island and as always it never disappoints. We used the kayaks to explore the beach and the flats behind the house. The bugs were nonexistent for the first few days then it rained and the bugs came out. Not bad but enough to not eat outside in the evenings. We used the grill almost every night to grill crawfish and fish. The hammock hanging on the cabana was the best. The cat with kittens sure brought a home feeling. We'll be back!

Spacious and comfortable beach house with very private beach and all the amenities needed. Although secluded, restaurants and grocery stores are not too far. The on island care takers are responsive if needed. If you are looking for privacy on a lovely, fine white sand beach this is the place.

We enjoyed our stay and the beach and water was amazing! The house is a little older but had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was very well stocked and even had a crockpot and rolling pins! We will be back to Long Island soon and would stay at this rental again! Thanks!

Long Island is beautiful and the locals are very welcoming. The house was nice and clean. The beach behind the house is awesome, we spent a few days just enjoying the beautiful clear calm waters in our back yard. We would gladly stay here again.

Overall a perfect vacation for those wanting to get away. We deliberately booked here to get away from the tourist stress in Nassau.
Located on the very quiet, sheltered Caribbean side of Long Island and a 10 minute drive from Clarence Town, the Galloway Beach House is located on a secluded gravel road. Swimming in the beautiful warm turquois waters with a powder sugar soft sand beach felt like swimming in your own giant private pool, and when you looked out the patio door you see your beach with the turquois waters and you could hear the ocean. Truly a dream location! The house had good WIFI and TV with access to Disney+, Netflix, Amazon TV, and Youtube. House had air conditioning and fans in all bedrooms plus kitchen/dining area and was very comfortable. Outdoor shower to rinse sand off before coming inside and plenty of bath and beach towels available with washing machine and a good equipped kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, toaster, fridge and gas stove/oven. Also a gas grill outside. Plenty of nice outside patio furniture. Plenty of comfortable bedding and nice beds. The house is in a VERY quiet location and we rarely encountered other people on our road. The only "negative" thing I can say is that because it is so remotely located and quiet, it is a bumpy 10 minute drive to where we can drop off the full garbage bags, and about 20-25 minutes to the next "supermarket" (mom and pop store) to buy groceries. The shelves only got restocked once a week on Thursday because the boat with supplies comes in on Wednesdays (usually). Although Erika's bakery in Clarence Town does have some limited supplies and delicious Banana nut bread 10 minutes away. We highly recommend this place to anyone, and for those with kids we can say the beach had very calm waters and goes in at least 20 meters before it went over their heads, plus in two weeks we never noticed a current. We spent hours in the water relaxing while the kids snorkled and played in the soft sand.

Our stay at Galloway House was perfect. The house is comfortable and very well maintained. The location is perfect! The beach is amazing, white power sand, crystal clear every shade of blue you could imagine Caribbean Sea. Close to Clarence Town for a quick visit to the bakery, marina for lunch, wandering through the beautiful churches and amazing scenery. This island is perfect for a true getaway type of stay that you will never forget and long to return. Thank you Liz and Gary and owner Patty for such a great place to stay.

We loved our stay at Patty’s house on Galloway Beach. The beach and water is unreal - it blew my mind every time we saw it. The water was calm enough for my 2 year old and the beach was immaculate. Just a quick walk and you are at the cut which provides hours of exploration. The house was well stocked with supplies, and has plenty of room for a family. The property is large and very private. Honestly, it’s hard to believe locations like this exist. Thank you for allowing us to experience Long Island at your home, Patty! We will never forget it.

Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Galloway Beach. The house worked well and had plenty of space. It had everything we needed for our stay. The beach is amazing. Patty and the property managers were very responsive and answered all questions quickly. My kids were very sad to leave!

If you want peace and quiet and no tan lines 😉 rent this property. We spent a lot of time at the gazebo by the beach and the outside patio. The sand was like flour. Although the house is older it’s very clean and roomy, but then again there was only two of us. The kitchen is very well stocked and we had no issues with the wifi. There is a small TV but we never turned it on. The main bathroom with shower was big, bright and water pressure fine. You have to understand the water comes from a cistern. We bought a 5 gallon bottle of water for drinking. Groceries stores and liquor (expensive but hey your on vacation) were within 20 minutes. Please note they close at 10am on Sundays. The road to the house is rough, but the view, beach and quietness was well worth it. This time around we rented a SUV from KCR Rentals since we flew with Stella Maris Air. It was very windy the 9 days we were there so we didn’t have issues with mosquitoes and no see ums at night, except the last night the wind died and they all came out. Bring bug spray. We’ve been to several Bahamas islands and bugs are the norm. We’re spoiled with a memory foam mattress which the beds at the house are inner spring. We made it work though. I love the brightness of the bedroom with the bunk beds. I would suggest doing the same to the front bedroom. We travelled light this time and did do one small load of laundry and hung on the outside line. There are tons of games, blankets, towels, sheets, etc in the closets. They have two 3 person kayaks that we didn’t take out. We did see 3 sharks and other sea life while walking the beach but didn’t catch any bonefish due to the weather conditions. But the island has great fishing overall. Gary and Liz are the caretakers and also own the best tiki bar on the island. The conch salad is outstanding! The Fly Fish Marina restaurant and On The Go have great food as well. The LI people are super nice! Everyone waves! We stayed in Whymms on another trip but fell in love with Clarencetown. The Deadman’s Clinic did our return COVID testing Sunday with no issues. Patti the Premier Host was very responsive to questions and accommodating when our flight changed and we had to decrease our time. Everything in her description of the house is spot on! It’s been a week since we’ve been back and we miss the Galloway Beach house! We would definitely rent this house again! Thank you Patti for for making our 31st Anniversary the best one yet!

The house was amazing. Had some horrible flights and delays in and off the island, but once we were at the house that was easy to forget about. Would definitely come back!

This is our second time staying at Galloway Beach House and it won't be our last. We have been to over 30 islands in the Caribbean, at least half in The Bahamas, and this is the most beautiful and pristine beach and beautiful private location that we have visited. The house is ideally situated on 5 acres with the utmost privacy. The patio is very large with lounge seating (coffee in the morning) and space for enjoying dinner while viewing the sunset. You may not see other people while you are on the beach. The stretch of beach is perfect pure powder white and the water clear blue...most definitely the prettiest on Long Island in my opinion. (And yes we've seen Cape Santa Maria and also seen house after house after house.) We enjoyed floating in the "lazy river" next to the house. Every evening we took our cocktails to the gazebo to witness the stunning sunsets from the gazebo on the beach. The house while simple and relaxed is very well appointed, clean and extremely comfortable with plenty of space even for a large family. When we were there, there were two kayaks and many rafts to use. The water is extremely calm so that both kayaking and floating were effortless. If I HAD to make a critique, it would be to brighten up one of the rooms with white paint...but honestly it certainly doesn't detract from the amazing location, charming home, and the feeling of being comfortable and very safe.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with my family which afforded us the time, peace, and serenity to build special memories that we will fondly recall as "that time at Galloway..."

We travel the family islands regularly and this beach has to be at the top of the list for beautiful, secluded and pristine beaches in all of the Bahamas. The house is fantastic as are the owners and property managers. We loved wasting away the days under the cabana on the beach and in the pristine water that has to be seen because it can’t be accurately described. The sea life was abundant and it never got old. The house is very roomy and comfortable and well cared for with everything we needed for our family of 6. Long Island is a nice mix of seclusion yet groceries and restaurants are readily available and the people could not have been more hospitable. If you want entertainment, shopping and night life, go to Nassau. If you want a vacation with peace, tranquility and the finest people in the Bahamas, this is it.

If you forget something, you’ll probably find it in the house. Those who stayed there previously left things they didn’t use or want to take back with them. Felt very homey. :)

We have been fortunate to travel to some cool places, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Virgin Islands and other Bahamian islands but this one was the best! So many checked boxes for us....private location yet close enough to eat out every night....comfortable house with a superb porch overlooking the incredibly blue water....great fishing within walking distance of the house. We caught houndfish, lady fish, snapper, grouper, amberjacks, barracuda and most importantly bonefish on the fly all within a half mile of the house! My sons were gone from morning to dusk with their flyrods. Miles of completely uninhabited white powder sand beaches, and quiet trails for hiking. No bugs, great breeze and perfect temps. Short car rides provided good exploring on both coasts of the island, and each stop was another eye opening view, just cannot get over the colors of the water. Local foods available at many small places, or fine dining at the marina in Clarencetown. This house is about getting the Long Island experience! We loved every moment and plan on returning soon. Thank you for sharing your lovely property with our family!
