About this apartment rental
Spacious air conditioned, two bedroom-two bath condo; a tropical paradise in the heart of Hilo. Comfort with Aloha.
Kūlani—close to paradise in Hawai’ian.
Kūlani and the peace and tranquility of its tropical setting are your welcome to Hilo. — Three private lanais overlook the beautiful Wailoa River and parkland — a lush blue and green world with coconut palms swaying in the breeze over sparkling waters. Greet the day from your lanai. Savor the charms of the Hawaiian landscape. Begin your day on the lanai with the Hilo sunrise and catch the white egrets daily flights up-river. Later unwind in the condo’s shared saltwater pool.
Located conveniently in the heart of vibrant Hilo Town, Kūlani is newly-remodeled, chic and comfortable. An ideal launchpad to explore Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park and other Big Island adventures.
Decorated with a nod to mid-century modern, the tasteful decor mirrors the relaxed tropical setting.
The two spacious bedrooms comfortably sleep four, each with an ensuite bathroom.
Luxuriate in the custom-built beds hand-crafted from sustainably-harvested local woods. Created by a Hilo artisan, the mid-century modern king—classically inspired yet reimagined—showcases Big Island Ohia, EarPod and Monterey Cypress while the Rainbow Eucalyptus queen’s headboard is accented by a live edge.
The spacious bedrooms are outfitted for comfort with quality linens, dresser, full closets and have private bathrooms with a tub/shower combo.
The well-equipped kitchen is ideal for enjoyable in-condo cooking and dining.
The living room includes a high-end pale blue leather sofa, dining table seating for four, and flat screen smart TV. Enjoy the included high-speed Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
Coin-operated washers and dryers are just down the hall. Contactless check in, designated parking for one vehicle, short-term visitor parking as well as 24/7 building security with security cameras (exterior of condo).

This lovely 2 bedroom condo on the sixth floor not only had wonderful views from each bedroom and the living room, but also had balconies from which to enjoy them. The end unit was exceptionally quiet with comfortable beds for a good night’s sleep. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. The decor was light and airy. Finally, the condo was convenient to everything in Hilo.

Great vacation spot with great views of the lagoon. Hopefully the pool and some other issues will be fixed soon. We would definitely return.

This is a nice condo with a great view of a park. The location is within a short drive of groceries, the ocean, and restaurants. The building itself is a little dated. That doesn’t impact much, as the unit itself has been updated and was pleasant.

Perfectly located. Close, easy access to most areas of interest. Light, bright and cheery unit. Very clean and well maintained with beautiful views. Great communication with the very helpful and informative owners. Highly recommend this amazing rental.

Great location. We received prompt replies to questions asked. Would stay here again.

We stayed 5 nights at Kulani in Hilo during a recent vacation to Hawaii. The rental unit was a perfect location for exploring the east side of the Big Island. It was easy walking distance to downtown Hilo, which offers some good restaurants and shopping, including a grocery and pharmacy. We rented a car which gave us the ability to explore the sights on this side of the island including Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, Black Sand beaches, Akaka Falls, Mauna Kea, and Mauna Loa.
The rental experience was excellent. The unit was clean and offered all the comforts of home. The kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfortable, and the unit offers three balconies with views of park. Communication with management was excellent; they were responsive and offered tips on places to eat and things to do in the area. Would definitely stay there again if in the Hilo area.

We stayed here for 4 days to attend a baby’s baptism. We also have a friend who lives in this building so we were very familiar with the building and area. The condo was spotless, well appointed and well stocked. Loved it!

Loved the location in Hilo. Very clean apartment. Nice separation of the 2 bedrooms/2 baths for privacy between my husband and I and our adult daughter. Well stocked kitchen, though we only used the toaster! Lovely view of park and sunrise. Loved the 3 lanai. Minimalist type furniture, so if you are a "large" person, the chairs for dining may be too small. Beds extremely comfortable. Couch sitting area comfortable for 2, a squeeze for 3. But there are other chairs available, so not that big of a deal. Especially since we weren't in the apartment much of our stay. Great restaurants nearby Helpful that there were luggage carts in the lobby. Neighbors friendly. I'd stay there again.
NOTE: laundry is coin operated on the floor. We didn't use it.
NOTE: there are only 2 lawn chairs for "beach". it would be helpful if there were 4 since the property is advertised for 4 people.

The town of Hilo is older, as is the building the apartment is house in. The apartment itself is well cared for and could use a little updating on the cabinets but overall was very nice. The location is good for exploring the eastern side of the island. The property manager was amazing providing lots of tips and suggestions prior to our arrival. This was very helpful and accurate information. Thank you!

Lovely comfortable and well appointed condo with nice lagoon views. Bright and airy, bring eye masks if you want to sleep past sunrise. Enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed 4 days in Hilo using this condo as our home away from home! The views from each of the 3 balconies were breathtaking and even though we were on vacation we woke up for the sunrise each morning to take it all in from 6 floors up. The adjacent park and walking trails are lovely with lots of birds to enjoy! It was a calm, quiet retreat after days filled with sightseeing!
The condo was neat as a pin and had all the amenities we needed and even a few we had not thought of including umbrellas! Parking was easy and included with the rental which you don’t always find on the islands. The decor is lovely and the games and books appreciated since it took a few days for our internal clocks to adjust to the 5 hour time difference!

The apartment is as described. It is spacious, beds were comfortable and conveniences, such as washer/dryer, nearness to elevator and stores, were all great. The view is not the ocean, but still beautiful. The location is good for driving to everything you would want to see north or south of Hilo. Check in was easy and contact with owner was good. Would recommend for your stay in Hilo.

We had a wonderful stay at the condo in Hilo. It’s in a perfect location for the Hilo farmers market and snorkeling at Richardson’s beach. The a/c was welcome after a day of outdoor activities and the 2 bedroom/2 bath setup was perfect for me and my adult daughter. Everything was super clean and the beds were so comfy.

Sometimes photos don't really convey what to expect. The property was much more than the photos. It was very well equipped in the kitchen, well appointed, the bedrooms are large, a lot of local info on wonderful places to eat (many close by and very walkable!) and places to go see was provided, close to a lively downtown, and very comfortable. Each room has its' own HVAC, which makes it comfortable and easy to suit your temp preference in the bedrooms and living room/kitchen area. Blazingly fast wifi! The location in the building is an end unit and across from another elevator (kind of a freight elevator) that gives you quick access (6 am to 6 pm) to the pool and parking area (and with an assigned parking spot), and the building has on-site security. The building itself has office spaces in the lower floors, so the first impression of the lobby area might be that this isn't a residential building. However, we rarely used the lobby elevators unless it was after 6 pm, and the security guard will help you if needed to access the glass lobby in front of the elevator doors if you forgot your key (they lock them after 6 pm). The area is quiet, the sunrise views are spectacular and nice to watch in the morning from the balconies. You have access to a very large park (see the photos!) area that surrounds the building, as well as the lake. If you like to walk or jog, you'll love this property!

Kulani was the perfect home base for my family and I during our recent trip to Hilo. The views at this condo are truly breathtaking. Wow! This is a brand new vacation rental and we were blessed to be some of the very first guests to stay here. We will definitely be back!
We loved the modern clean decor of this unit. Very tasteful while also playing homage to the local culture and feel of Hawaii and Hilo. We had everything we needed and more! The beds were extremely comfortable and wooden frames were very beautiful. My husband and I spent every morning drinking our coffee on the lanai, enjoying the palm tree and river view. We will miss our daily walks in the park adjacent to the building.
I have stayed in this same building before, and the location can not be beat! I love being close to all my favorite Hilo restaurants, the best Hilo beaches, the Hilo Farmers Market, and to many grocery stores! We loved swimming in the pool daily, which was a very comfortable temperature.
Communication with the hosts Terry and Amber could not have been smoother. I appreciated the list of things to do and restaurant recommendations. While I have visited the island many times, their list was valuable in helping me discover some new experiences! I felt very safe at the building with the 24/7 security - they were extremely friendly and helpful too.
