I was able to get our family of six together for a short vacation before kids went back to college. This house was a perfect place to stay. Well furnished and very clean. The location is perfect! 15 minute walk to entry point of river and 15 minute walk back from the last river exit. 3 minute walk to excellent restaurants. Also fun to see all the deer.
4.7
We had a great time staying here. The location was perfect - walking distance to multiple restaurants and bars, 444 tubing, the park and so much more! The neighborhood is quaint and the deer adorable. We loved our stay and highly recommend this spot. The house had everything we needed and the communication was great!
4.7
Great location for floating the Comal river. Can take your own floats and a quick walk from the entrance and exit if the river. Walking to restaurants and entertainment. Older house but clean. Would stay again!
4.7
This house is in a great location- walking distance to cute New Braunfels downtown area with shops and dining. Also walking distance to river tubing. The house is roomy and fit our family of four comfortably. Our only suggestions for improvement are adding more blankets for the beds and the master bath needs a toilet paper holder.
4.7
We stayed in this lovely house to visit family for the holiday. It had a quirky layout with plenty of space and nooks for people to hang out in. It was walking distance to everything we needed, like naeglin’s bakery.
Only wish there were some extra warm blankets as New Braunfels gets chilly in November.
4.7
I booked this house for my friends Bachelorette weekend and it was the perfect location! Everyone fit great we were able to walk to all coffee and meals we did. Very clean and no issues throughout our stay!
4.7
Stayed here a weekend trip. In extremely close walking distance of all the best bars and restaurants. The house is also larger than it looks in the pictures online. Highly recommend.
4.7
We had six people including 2 kids. The setup of the house was perfect and spacious enough for everyone. The extra sink in the wash room worked out well so everyone could get ready at the same time. Great quiet location and love seeing the deer in the evening. The house was very clean and ample items in the kitchen. Would highly recommend for your stay!
4.7
Overall our stay was very nice. The beds (especially the pullouts) are not comfortable so sadly we didn’t sleep well but this was our only downside. The location if you plan to float the river is incredible. We walked 50ft and were at 444 tubing. We also were able to walk downtown. The only time we needed an Uber was to dinner. There were more than plenty of towels and paper towels, soap, etc. which was wonderful. Such a cute house with so much history and we had deer in our backyard and front yard every morning. The only reason I wouldn’t give this property five stars is because of the pullout beds/mattresses. Other than that the property was amazing, the manager of the property was very sweet, and the house was a perfect size for seven girls. Thank you so much!! We can’t wait to come back and float again!
4.7
Spacious and close to everything! 4 minute walk from tubing and Sidecar / Muck and Fuss. LOVED the screened in porches - perfect for enjoying evenings after a day on the river! Easy drive to Gruene. The house was everything we needed!
4.7
Very nice spacious home! Great location. Only recommendation I have is maybe build a cute little bunk bed in the middle section with the little kids table, as the glass desk isn’t really needed when you have the desk in the sunroom. But that’s just an idea! Lovely time here!
4.7
It’s a nice place. Its clean, comfortable, and a well taken care of property. Good location. Very accommodating hosts.
4.7
Fun house to stay at. Would use again.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Downtown Prost and had the best time. Thank you for having us stay. We enjoyed the house very much (especially sitting out on the back patio with a bottle of wine)!
The location was excellent, it was only a five-minute walk to dinner downtown and a 15-minute walk to the river!
Definitely will book here again!
4.7
Exceeded expectations. Very charming and pet friendly. Definitely stay again!

I came to meet a friend for antique shopping, but will certainly bring my family this summer. This charming house in downtown New Braunfels has the perfect location. I enjoyed being able to walk to downtown antique stores, coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants and bars. I KNOW my family will join me this summer to walk to the river and a local tubing business. We may even come back during Wurstfest..it is also walkable..less than 10 blocks.
4.7
Great location! Couldn’t beat being able to walk to all the restaurants and bars downtown. The home was one-of-a-kind and I loved its unique character and charm. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Reviewer Comments:
Great location to downtown and Wurst Fest. Love the location and historic homes. The house is a bit of an oddity. You can tell where add ons have been made to this old house. As a result, the flooring is different and higher elevation in some places. Love the yard. I would stay her again.

Could not be in a better location. Walking distance to Schlitterbahn, Comal River tube chute and several restaurants and breakfast hot spots. House is as expected from an older NB home on the river. However, if you are renting a home for vacation and are expecting privacy. This is not for you. There is a garage apartment 3 feet from the side door. Someone is living there or it is being rented out also. 2 nights into our stay we were greeted with 7 guests next door in the garage apartment. 1 of the showers was working properly. Master bath shower didn't want to drain and needed a large jug of draino. The location made up for some the downfalls but coming home to 7 guests nextdoor unexpectedly was a drag. Won't be happening again for us
4.7
You’re paying for location with this one. It’s just blocks away from downtown and from most of the tube companies. Parts of the house were cute, and it was a pretty comfortable stay. What wasn’t great were the upwards of five roaches, both dead and alive, that we shared the home with. As well as the spiders.
Additionally, the house is just straight up old and probably in need of a lot of repairs and refurbishments. One side of the house seems to fully slant downwards to the right (you can really tell in the hall that leads from the kitchen and the back bedroom). In that same back right bedroom, the wall is completely pulling away from the baseboard. It’s very hard to wash your face in the bathroom because the mirror has a large shelf that juts out so far you smack your head into it when you lean over. So your options are just drenching yourself and the floor in water. The layout of the home is bizarre, and as a previous review mentions, the headboard in one of the bedrooms is up against a door the leads into another bedroom and you can hear everything everyone is saying.
And while we had no issues with any of the house rules, they were so aggressively repeated on every single piece of paperwork we received or signed and then also listed on the fridge, that we 100% thought we would be charged a fine for simply existing and it became a bit of a running joke. I know this is definitely because of people who come to New Braunfels to party hard in the river, there aren’t rules like this without people who have broken them to begin with. It was just A LOT for six 30-somethings who just wanted to sleep and shower and not get charged $50 for forgetting to put the trash can on the street.
Anyway. It was a fine place to sleep at night.

There were bugs in the bathtub but maybe you can't avoid that. It just wasn't reassuring on arrival. Also the master bedroom is connected to the guest bedroom by a door which is blocked off by the bed and covered with a quilt. So sound travels easily between the two bedrooms. Wouldnt stay there again.
