We had the best time in st Martin, the place is amazing, clean, located within close proximity to everything. We lived in st Martin for 2 years before, and we know the good places around, and I tell you something, this place is a great place! You won’t regret it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bella Mare! Waking up to the beautiful sights of yachts and sailboats in the stunning waters of Simpson Bay every morning was a perfect start! Our daily walk to the end of Simpson Beach (2.5 round trip) was great exercise. We brought sandals one day and continued up the stairs and into Maho exploring that area where the planes land.
We found the location of Bella Mare to be perfect! Walking distance to breakfast spots, lunch spots, dinner and a pharmacy if needed. The Yacht Club bar and grille was just a short walk away and allows you to sit and watch the boats come through the canal into the marina.
We highly recommend this VRBO property, Gordon and Jill were a pleasure to work with!

The property exceeded our expectations. Amazing spot a few steps from the water of Simpson Bay. When the shutters raised every morning to reveal the stunning view we couldn’t help but smile. Everything as advertised and more!

We (parents, 8yr kid and a grandma) spent 10 dreamy days at the villa. You cannot beat this location - it's directly on a very nice beach (with no traffic at all! barely a dozen people passed by in 10 days). Villa is everything as described and more, all details are looked after - from all you need for the beach to recommendations for local restaurants and travel!), it is VERY clean and well maintained, honestly we cannot recommend it enough! You can stay in and cook, you can walk to Patisserie for out of this world pastries or nearby restaurants. We would recommend renting a car as there is enough to see on the island every day of your stay.
As to the logistics - we worked with Jill prior to arrival - she is phenomenal and responds to all your asks right away! Gordon (the property manager) is available to answer your calls at any time (and boy did it come in handy when we got stuck in the airport and both Gordon and Jill were in constant communication with us late into the evening!!!!! We appreciate your help so very much!).
This is a very popular villa for bookings (for so many different reasons!) - we highly recommend it!
One note for the future travelers - internet connection is spotty at times (in many areas of the island including this villa), in the event you do need to be connected to work or for other reasons, but it did not have an impact on our stay at all.
Looking forward to coming back for some R&R in the future! :) Thanks again, Jill and Gordon!

Better than advertised! I am very selective when it comes to my vacation rentals and I can tell you this place met all of my expectations and beyond. Even though we don't like to visit the same place twice we are already planning to revisit this time with more family. This property is perfectly located on the Dutch side with easy access to great restaurants and tranquil family oriented beaches. We loved our morning walks to Cafe Atlantico and we highly approve every restaurant the owners recommended. Gordon (property manager) and Jill (St. Martin Beach Rentals) were a pleasure to work with. They are very knowledgeable of the island and are always available to answer any questions. This condo was not only beautifully decorated and very spacious but was also extremely clean (as I like it). You will find everything you need in the kitchen (they provide you with starting seasoning and other complementary necessities) and furthermore you have a very NICE bar at your disposition with a pretty good selection of drinks (please don't forget to replace what you use as courtesy to the house and future guests). The beds were really comfortable and high quality linens. The towels do need to be replaced in my opinion. The views and the feel of this place is way more captivating in person. Tranquil warm waters and breathtaking sunsets right in your patio. Local people are friendly and you will find that they speak multiple languages! if you are looking for a place to relax and feel totally at home this is your place! Don't look any further, this is your place! This is a gem for they money you pay!
P.S- This property provides you with a cooler, snorkeling wear, beach towels a pre paid local cell phone and a house land that with access to US numbers.

We are two couples who spent a week at the end of June at this great property. The condo is better than the pictures! It was easy to find from the airport. The area across the street from the condo are inhabited by very friendly locals. When we arrived, Gordon, the property manager, was there to greet us and gave us all kinds of great advice and showed us around the unit. A VOIP phone and a cell phone are provided for your use. The unit is well-equipped with fans and air-conditioning. The view out the back is fantastic. The beach is small in front of the unit, and you can snorkel around if you enter the water with some caution due to the large rocks. Just down the beach a little bit is a nice swimming area. There are a number of restaurants as you walk towards the airport that are nice to walk up to. Karakter Beach Bar was a nice treat and we had brunch and dinner there. Everything is within 40 minutes driving or less. All the previous reviews are spot on when it comes to the information. Everything is provided and more at Bella Mare.
Be sure to take the advice from Gordon and Jill (who we worked with to book the condo). They had fantastic information and made the trip so much easier. Jill helped with booking a car which made it a lot easier for us. WHEN we come back, we will definitely stay at Bella Mare, again.

We have stayed at this property two years in a row. The condo is wonderful, with a private deck and comfortable chairs and umbrella for lounging. There is a patio that is open and breezy and wonderful for dining outside. The condo has every amenity and is well furnished. The bed was very comfortable. Beach access is right outside your door, but he beach itself right in front of this condo is not really usable due to rocks and other hazards to getting in the water. You can walk up the beach where walking in is very easy. The beach access is the only real down side that I can mention to this property. We will definitely stay here again!

The house was absolutely awesome. Better than shown on VRBO. Well furnished with the master bedroom looking out over the ocean. The view was from the patio was breathtaking. The big problem with this property is the beach. The water is strewn with large pieces of concrete and you can't safely go in the water. I tried and got a good size cut on my leg. There is a nice section of beach to the north, but it's a fair walk. The house is literally right on the beach so it would have been great to just walk down the three stairs and get in the ocean. If going straight from the house to the beach isn't your thing, I would highly recommend it.
This was our first time to St. Martin and we had seven wonderful days exploring, dining and spending days on other beaches. Shopping and dining is within walking distance. Weather was consistently nice and ocean was warm. We plan to return next year but will select another property.

We arrived on April 1,2016 for a weeks stay. We were in St. Martin last year and had also rented a villa through VRBO but had a larger group last year. We needed room only for one family and this condo looked wonderful. It definitely held up to what was expected in the way of pictures, location and service. To be honest we were a little concerned as we drove down the road to get to the condo but the neighborhood proved to be safe and friendly. My daughter and I walked to Cafe Atlantico many of the mornings to either get breakfast or lunches to take to the beach. Their food was delicious and incredible for the money. Very inexpensive and fresh. We traveled around the island to many of the different beaches and had great weather. We also took a sailboat excursion with RandomWind. They were great also. Very attentive to you serving mixed drinks, frozen drinks a delicious lunch and provided everything you needed down to ginger beer or ginger candy if you weren't feeling well. One of my favorite memories is sitting with my coffee on the chairs on the deck of the condo and enjoying watching the waves roll in the boats go out. We had two dinners while in the condo and a number of breakfasts and it was stocked with everything we needed. The days out at the beach were also great because the condo supplied coolers, noodles and chairs. The last day we walked about 100 yards to the right and swam at the beach and the water was great and no one was there! We had the beach to ourselves and it was a wonderful way to end the trip. Gordon, the manager was awesome and provided many tips and suggestions for while we were there. Overall it was a great trip and we are sad to see it end!
