Very relaxing experience with helpful staff, wonderful spa and deliciously health food

The property is clean and nice. The spa was great
The staff are very nice but feels like some are inexperienced. I was asked to show my physical credit card. I thought it is strange and never had to do it. Why is that? Lack of trust?
Overall it feels like the value paid could have been cheaper (easily 100£ less)

The building, grounds and spa are amazing, extremely beautiful especially in the sun.
The spa is exceptional as are the grounds but the hotel itself is not in the same league and could do with some refurbishment, modernising and interior design changes

spa, good service, lovely breakfast
a little bit dated in the hotel

The spa and gym facilities were superb. Some of the best facilities I’ve seen. Fantastic room and bathroom, very comfy bed. The bar area was very nice with an open fire, great for a winter stay like we had. Beautiful setting and very impressive building overall
Breakfast at Botanica hugely overpriced and underwhelming. No dairy for coffee, why? You are serving bacon sandwiches so what’s the message there supposed to be? You’re either sustainable or you’re not. I wanted normal milk. Staff seemed very young and inexperienced. Not overly helpful and were very quiet and almost scared to talk to you

The room and facilities were very good
This was my wife's 70th and should have been special. Dinner, Starters OK. Main awful my wife's monkfish was raw. I had the the partridge which was tough and whoever's invented the sauce, needs more training. I mentioned this on leaving and expected the mains to be taken off the bill. It wasn't.

I’ve stayed here before & the location is amazing & so are the facilities.
Not enough staff to support guests. They had 1 staff member at the Water Shed poolside bar to serve over 100 people. I don’t think it’s acceptable to charge £600 per night & have guests queuing for an ice cream or a drink for 35 mins. They need a pool side manager as the sun bed situation is shocking where you cannot get a sun lounger even though half of them are empty with a towel & a book to hold them for hours despite no one turning up to use them. They need to do pool side service for guests so you can order a drink from your sun lounger. The spa vs the hotel is like chalk & cheese. They’ve got a NO COWs Milk policy at the spa so you cannot have a coffee or a tea with cows milk. OH, BUT YOU CAN ORDER CHICKEN, FISH & BEEF you just can’t have milk in your coffee - hilarious. The staff at the Spa told us the Resturant was fully booked for lunch & dinner, when we went for lunch there were only 8 tables out of 90 in use! The terrace at the hotel is their only saving Grace with lovely staff & you can have milk! More staff at the spa pool side would turn the experience from a 2 star into a 5 star. We stayed on the hottest day of the year & other guests were complaining so they starting giving out water by the pool. I don’t think it’s for a hotel to dictate what milk you can have, they said it was to do with being sustainable LOL, we wanted to say “how are you heating your in & outdoor pool”. Beware of the fact they have membership guests who use the facilities everyday so there’s a disconnect between a hotel guest paying £600 per night & a yummy mummy going to meet her mates pre picking the kids up at 3:30pm. So you have these peaks where the pools are busy. It’s a wonderful hotel in a great setting, but the lack of staffing & Managment let’s it down.

was so pretty and perfect.
the spa was amazing. The natural pond was so lovely to swim in.
the food was very nice as well as the cocktails.
Our room was great with a very big and comfortable bed.
you can’t use the spa until 4pm when you check in and can only use it till 12 the next day , we turn up 3 hours early think we could have a spa day! how ever we did go to the restaurant and have an amazing lunch and wine which also has beautiful views

The food was excellent apart from the heinz tomato soup on the childrens menu.... my son was expecting a fresh tomato soup...he usually has the adult menu but there was not anything for him unfortunately
Whilst the food was great the service for dinner was terribly slow, long noticeable pauses between courses. The room was massive with a beautiful view but it lacked character and felt like it was i a bit of a time warp and needed some reinvigoration. There were not even basic things like a shower cap and the conditioner and shampoos were in little bottles which is so bad for the environment and so behind the times... have big ones that stay in the room, that guests just help themselves to.. also when my husband asked the bar tender for a martini , the bar tender was really challenging and i felt quite rude with his reply, he was basically questioning his choice but not in a good way, i actually sad to my husband, if you want one, have one it's your birthday, but i think he was over it at this point...

Lovely spa facilities and breakfast and hotel facilities
Dinner in botanica was very disappointing. Restaurant had bright lighting and had no atmosphere - for love of god lower the lighting in evening and add a candle on the table in order to make more intimate. I wouldn't eat there for dinner again.
Also the sight of cement mixer and building site from outdoor spa pool did not feel like a luxury experience at all!
We couldn't check in to 4pm and had to check out by 11am so less than 24 hours for 1 night (17 hours for 550GBP). I think for one night stays it should be 24 hrs.
