Excellent(202 Reviews)4.5
It was very comfortable, good price and great location.
4.5
Clean motel with friendly owners. Great location. A bit dated but worth the price.

This hotel is the least expensive in town. It’s fine but so outdated and out of style. It’s VERY clean though so if you can deal with the poor condition, it’s worth it to save money on lodging. For example, the toilet handle is broken, outdoor carpet on steps is shredded, etc.

Stayed here while moving my son into Penn State. Conveniently located close to the college but outside of the chaotic area during move in. Quiet at night, and had a place for breakfast directly next door. The room was very clean, and the owner was very nice.
The room is basic, but the beds were comfortable and the rate was great, which was exactly what I was looking for! Will be looking to stay here again for whenever I'm visiting Penn State!
4.5
Older hotel, somewhat dark but clean. Friendly staff. No breakfast but a waffle house next door. TV is good. A bit of a distance from downtown but there's bus stops nearby and Enterprise across the street. A short walk to Penn State Arboretum.

This place has so much potential. The staff are really nice, but my room was just unclean and has aged like milk. Came in to a duvet with a mystery white stain and fried rice on my dresser. The front desk lady was really nice and immediately came and cleaned that mess, then offered us a $50 cash refund. She was extremely sweet and apologetic and I cannot stress the service youll get here, but there was more to come. The ac was broken, mold in the bathroom ceiling tiles, there was trash, food, and used qtips under the bed, our wallpaper was falling off because it was held up by painters tape. Its not a roach motel, I didnt come out itching, but they definitely need to do better. It was so cute on the outside, the price was comparatively reasonable, and again, the staff were kind. This place has potential to turn around, and I appreciate the refund and effort to make right. We’ll see how it is next time.

Wonderful motel.

The room was basic and without pretense... just what I need, and like. I would definitely stay here again!

Suddenly, it's 1960! This sad motel cost $5 per night at that time. The mattress was okay but the pillows terrible. The TV was impossible. The amenities were minimal and cheap. It was inexpensive, but not all that inexpensive.
4.5
Though I am not a fan of exterior doors, the hotel is in a very safe neighborhood and the cleanliness is superb, better than some recent chain hotels I've stayed in recently

Nice room no frills motel room. Stayed here a couple of time.

The place was very nice and clean!

Comfortable and clean.

Affordable, great for the price

Air conditioning was not on upon arrival and could not keep up with the demand of the room. Bathroom window would not close so heard parking lot noise all night. The shower was always dripping and the drain was plugged so you could not have two showers in a row or it would overflow on the floor. Outlets were minimal and not all usable. So glad we had our own extension cords and fan to try and get some sleep.

Desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned daily.

Our visit was for one night. The hostess was very accommodating when checking in and with our questions on restaurants in the area. The room had been refurbished. It was clean. The outside of the building just has a little wear but I wouldn't pass up this little gem for a place to stay.
4.5
The rooms were super clean and the property was really quiet so we were able to get a good nights rest. There are plenty of dining options in the area. The rooms are dated in terms of decor but that really doesn't really matter.

Old motel has its charms and is well maintained and very clean, just not modern. Very accessible on main road into State College, a short way from the campus, with businesses and restaurants up and down that stretch. Not great for walking but in the neighborhood near the motel I discovered a beautiful multi-use paved trail and then a gravel walking trail into an arboretum - great for stretching the legs after a long drive, as I did! Convenient motel. No breakfast or other amenities, but Waffle House next door and plenty nearby.
4.5
Quaint hotel close to everything. Very friendly!

Nice spot a lot better option especially for the price then other motels next door

Clean room, very nice, friendly staff. The room was cleaned and the towels replaced without asking, a rarity these days. The property is rather dated and the bathroom was very cozy. Very good value, overall.

This place was so clean and convenient. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is lovely to stay

Stayed here moving My daughter out of Penn State dorm. This Motel was just down the street from campus great location and price. It’s a motel not a hotel so there are not many amenities but I only needed a place to sleep. Like others said it is dated but it was super clean It seems family owned and they seem to care for the place very well. The staff I have were all super nice and accommodating. Room I had has two double bed’s microwave and fridge. Again super clean just dated I didn’t mind again I only needed a clean bed and shower. Bed was very comfortable same with pillows. Shower had decent pressure and hot water was plenty waffle restaurant is right across the parking lot and other places to eat are very close. I would stay here again and plan to in August when I mover her back in Penn State.

Stevens Motel lived up to all the positive reviews I read.
Not super fancy, but exactly what we needed. Very clean and staff was wonderful. Highly recommend. We will be back.

Called the front desk regarding the AC unit in our room and they were helpful and quick to move us to another room. Would stay again!

Rooms were dated, but very clean. Friendly staff.

Shower needed updated

Staff was nice (if young). Price was right. It is VERY old and parking is tight. Room was clean but worn. When I opened the door, the wallpaper flopped away from the wall and then flopped back onto it. No hot water when we were there. And the doors are flimsy with very old deadbolts. Temperature control was zip. Room was super warm and a/c did nothing.
4.5
Really nice stay!
4.5
Easy check in. Price was excellent. Room was clean. Could use some updating.
4.5
The location was great and it had exactly what i needed a bed and a shower nothing extra that forced higher prices.
4.5
Convenient location to penn state. Waffle place next door was good food but long lines. Room needs to have updated furnishings. A fresh coat of white paint would brighten up the room. Bathroom has fresh very white towels, good water pressure, eco friendly shampoo packets, but NO hair dryer. Beds ok. Would stay there again.

Staff were welcoming, helpful, and kind during every interaction we had with them. Our room, while a bit dated, was very clean and well maintained. The beds were also very comfortable. This was our first stay and for the price and cleanliness of the motel, we will definitely consider staying here first over other hotels/motels in the area.

The Steven's Motel looks like it never stepped out of 1985. Room decor and exteriors were rather shabby, wifi was not great, amenities were lacking, and the check-in lobby area was quite disgusting (brown and smelly fish tank, plus an overturned potted plant with dirt all over the floor). The room could also have been a bit cleaner (dirty windows/screens, stained blankets). The beds were comfortable, but the pillows weren't great. Parking was fine. Good location overall. For a budget motel, it sufficed, but the whole place could use some serious updating. And we booked online, so we were committed to the room; but if we had just driven up and wanted a place to stay, we would have chosen somewhere else had we seen the state of the lobby in advance.

Older place, but very clean and convenient location to Penn State.
