Second time here to drop our kid off at college. Convenient to the west dorms.

We were there overnight to pick up our son from college. Very close to the West dorms!

Amazing hotel!

Great hotel and people. Bed ok, pillows were terrible, very uncomfortable.

Really nice place. It was always nice but the renovations take it to a new level. It captures all things Penn State in a cozy atmosphere.

Tremendous renovation of this historic property. Our compliments to the new management team !!!

The hotel is beautiful! The beds are comfortable and new. It is a maze of rooms, and often a long walk to your room. The HVAC wasn't working, and we reported it to the front desk, but nothing happened. Hopefully they get it fixed!

An amazing hotel, kids trying their hardest to.please the guests. It works!!

Newly renovated hotel was great, with only exception being fairly uncomfortable beds

First trip back to State College in a long time. I have always wanted to stay at The Nittany Lion Inn and finally did so. Wonderful, quiet, beautiful trip and since it was not a football weekend staying here was possible.

Upon arrival, they could not find a reservation for Friday only for Saturday. The first room that we were put in the door did not lock, there was still garbage in the bathroom garbage can and a shower curtain was laying across the bed. We switched rooms but in that room, the desk lamp did not work, there is no coffee or coffee, cups, and at night the air conditioning unit began to make loud banging noises so we had to turn it off. according to hotels.com we thought that parking was free, but it is not. The facility is beautiful, but not up to the standards it is rated.

The building is outstanding upon entry! Great from Valet parking or using the next door parking structure. Feels warm, comfortable, and easy when you walk in. Couches, armchairs, and niche spaces for families, friends, and some folks getting their virtual work done. Front desk is a bit off to the side, which is great as you don't walk into bags or check in lines. After a quick check in with great front desk staff, we got a bit lost finding our room. Before going to your room...ask for directions. This was shared by a few friends who also stayed for the weekend. Room was very clean. Good space. Yes, A/C/Heat is a bit loud. Some noise from hallway and adjacent room, but nothing odd or extraordinary.
Growing Pains - Valet, Front door, and front desk staff are on point and inviting. Tripletts bar, 1855 Lounge, and Lionne are working on it. Aged ribeye was well prepared and the table favorite, veggies not so much, and lobster bisque was not enjoyed by our party. Wait staff was good, and working out the kinks. Bar staff at the Lounge and Tripletts are also working out the kinks. Be kind and all goes well! Dear Joe, makes a good coffee and can use a few more staffers on weekends. Enjoy your drinks in the Lounge, living room, or beautiful courtyard/s and the mistakes will blissfully evaporate. Lastly, housekeeping was always busy and keeping the place clean. Much appreciated!! Loved the building, spaces, comfort, and of course .... BEST LOCATION AT PSU!

An excellent job of remodeling the Inn, bringing it up to date. Their tag line is "Penn State's living room" and the lobby certainly lives up to that goal. The lobby has several well designed and separated seating areas where you can gather with friends for a drink or just a chat. Gone is the dated colonial furniture, replaced with modern furniture in neutral colors. The guest rooms have been completely renovated and the bathrooms brought up to date. Rooms are still a little tight because of the architecture but are comfortable, except for one item - seating. This is not unique to the NLI, but occurs often in hotels. The room has a king size bed but only one comfortable, upholstered chair. One assumes that there are two people in a room with a king size bed but only one of them gets a comfortable chair to watch TV. The other must make do with the hard desk chair or propped up the bed. We did not try either the formal dining room or the casual bar but both have been completely redecorated. All in all, the NLI is a great place for a nostalgic stay at Penn State.

It was absolutely fantastic and makes me want to go back with my family

A perfectly fine hotel that is convenient to Penn State campus. Check in was a little slow - not a big deal. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Seemed like housekeeping might have forgotten to put soap in BR. Again, no big deal. Parking garage (next door) was convenient but the free pass for self-parking didn’t work (paid $18 overnight night rate). Another no biggie. Would stay again but would make sure about those slightly annoying items.

The old girl has reopened after a lengthy renovation …. By far, the top of the list of places to stay at State College

Great staying at the NLI. Very elegant and retains the PSU heritage. Great workout facilities. Will be back again.
One minor...in the shower, there was "hand soap" and not body wash and no soap at the sink. When we stepped out, we told the front desk and when we returned, there was hand soap and a couple bars of soap, but the hand soap was still in the shower. Not a big deal. A little attention to detail slip.

It's a beautiful facility, excellent in most respects. There is one problem: parking. Your only options are to pay $25 for valet parking or to park in the university-owned garage next door. The garage is fine and is not expensive--I paid $12 to park overnight. However, the next morning I went out for breakfast, then returned to the garage, planning to park for less than an hour while I showered and checked out. An attendant at the garage told me there was a volleyball tournament and I would have to pay a $10 event parking fee; it didn't matter that I was staying at the hotel and would be there for less than an hour. There is literally no parking allowed at any time on any street in the neighborhood, so I ended up parking half a mile away, in downtown State College. I mentioned it at checkout, and the clerk was sympathetic but said they are at the mercy of the university when it comes to parking. They need to find a better arrangement. I don't recommend staying there unless you don't care how much you have to pay to park.

They recently renovated the Nittany Lion Inn and it is beautiful! I can’t wait to come back!

We had a quick but great stay at the Nittany Lion Inn. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff was very helpful (especially in getting my daughter's wallet, which was left at Rec Hall, returned to her) and friendly. We had lunch at Whiskers. Our waiter Jack was attentive and the food was tasty. The brunch buffet in the dining room was very good!

We don’t get a chance to stay here very often because we have friends who live near State College and we stay with them. But they were not home and we were attending a PSU basketball game so when I saw we could stay at the Nittany Lion Inn for such a reasonable price it was a no brained. Beautiful hotel and enjoyed our stay.

Visiting Penn State with our daughter. Great location - hotel made it feel a little like a vacation than just a college tour.

We had a great time. A new favorite!

I was told there was a hotel shuttle that could take me and my family to the concert. 30 minutes later when I came down to catch the shuttle I was told they were unavailable and at the airport. Terrible valet service. Had way too many customers and not enough workers.
5.0
The property was historical and beautiful. However, the walls were too thin and you were able to hear other guests near by.

We really enjoyed our stay. The registration staff employees were exceptional, the room was clean, and the location was convenient for our needs. The shuttle service was greatly appreciated.

The inn was in a great location and close to our acceptance day event at PSU. I enjoyed eating at the restaurant with another mom while our sons were out
Visiting friends in the dorms. We will be back! Lisa
