Need or forgot something, Acme fresh market is less than 5 minutes away with no traffic along with an array of restaurants & shops. Not to mention endless parks, biking & hiking trails. 20-25 mins will get you to The Pro Football Hall of Fame, Akron Zoo, The Science Center, Cuyahoga National Forest & Golf courses. The Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame is 40-45 mins & the No.1 Amusement Park in the World Cedar Point is just over an hour away.

Like providing outdoor gas grill with gas, kayaks with life vests for all sizes, Tiki Torches for those nights whether you need them or just want them for ambiance. We also try to surround you with plants & flowers. Binoculars to watch humming birds & owls, wood peckers and other beautiful birds. Everything nature has to offer is just a stay away. We have completely remodeled everything from Fresh paint, New furniture, floors & trim, cabinets to the granite counter tops and then some. Nice quiet location! Everything was clean and as stated it would be!

We wanted some place close for a long weekend. The house was tiny but tastefully decorated with a nice outdoor area. The dock was safe but could use some updating. Owners were super easy to work with let us keep our boat at the dock. We would stay again!

The lake view and outdoor space are perfect for a peaceful getaway. Cottage has been updated, very nice! The second bedroom is located down a narrow spiral staircase. Anyone sleeping in the 2nd bedroom would have to come upstairs to use the toilet.

Property is exactly as advertised. Owners were responsive. We had beautiful weather and thoroughly enjoyed the outside space. Appreciated that linens and basics were provided.
We were in the area to visit family and are very pleased we chose this cottage over a hotel. Thank you!

We had a great time. Very relaxing and enjoyed kayaking the lake

The property location is strange, but the location on the lake is amazing. We had a great sunrise every morning. The top floor of the property is great. The layout is strange. There is only a toilet and sink up top, the shower is on the lower floor which is difficult to get to using the spiral staircase. The neighborhood was difficult to maneuver through, and a bit run down. The lake house is one of the nicest properties we saw. Our biggest drawback was the smell of the water in the house. I am assuming it was a well water. It was undrinkable and after showering we still felt unclean.

This was a perfect little spot for us to spend a few relaxing days directly on the lake. We loved having the kayaks! Steve was prompt with all his communication, and we would stay here again :)

Having grown up in the Akron area enjoying our parents summer cottage as a child I was taken back in time with this property on the lake.
While our cottage on the lake didn't have indoor plumbing, internet, streaming TV and the decorator touches this property has, it reminded me of years gone by growing up when life was much simpler.
If you want to share similar memories with your children or just yourself, this is the place to rent.
I spent hours fishing of the dock and kayak although my results were minimal it was still enjoyable.
Owner was responsive and timely. My only suggestion is clean the ceiling fan blades in the living room. My wife is a clean freak !

We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was nicely decorated and very clean. We had what we needed to cook and be comfortable there. The back yard was so beautiful and we enjoyed relaxing on the deck. There was lots of wild life surrounding the lake - we even observed a Bald Eagle - the provided binoculars helped too.
We were close to the Ohio to Erie bike path and enjoyed riding bikes into Akron. The host communicated well and we had a very relaxing time.

This quaint cottage on the lake was very nice and comfortable. Enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed kayaking on the lake in the comfortable kayaks supplied by the owner. There was a lot of birdlife on the lake and we sat on the deck and patio enjoying them and the lovely flowers and plantings in the yard. We had fun also checking out Cuyahoga National Park which was not far away.

My husband and I just wrapped up spending a week at this cozy cottage. It was truly what the soul needed to find time to slow down and relax and let the stress of everyday life melt away. From the moment you step inside and see the view of Long Lake, you know you are in paradise! It's just mesmerizing and gorgeous!
We enjoyed bird watching with the provided binoculars, kayaking and fishing from the private dock. We enjoyed watching all the wildlife and ducks pass by in the water and loved having coffee with the sunrise on the deck. The landscaping and the back area is just perfection.
To the prospective renter - please bear in mind this is a SMALL cottage. It's very humble in size but definitely still cozy. Don't come expecting tons of room inside and the Ritz. You're renting a small lake front cottage with well water. We came into this with it in mind but just wanted to put this out for anyone who might be expecting something different. The living room couches are comfortable and the furniture and finishing inside are very nice. Also, the grill outside takes awhile to heat up so plan to get it started up well before you plan to eat.
If I could make a few suggestions to the host it would be to maybe provide a small staple pantry with some basic seasonings, cooking oil, sugar, etc. & to maybe think about upgrading the beds and pillows as they weren't very comfy.
The host (Steve) was great with communication and responded quickly. We truly fell in love and will book again!

The property is cute and nicely decorated. Location is very good and close to things. Host was very attentive and communication was great! Just note the downstairs has a spiral staircase that could be a problem if you have mobility issues....The shower is downstairs, the toilet is upstairs. This was not a problem for us but just keep that in mind.
The place is very quiet and it was a perfect getaway for us to sit by the water and enjoy the tranquility. Access to the Towpath trail is very close which we enjoyed! Downtown Akron is less than 30 minutes and we enjoyed some very nice downtown restaurants as well.

Loved the easy access to a very quiet lake. Enjoyed kayaking and time on the deck. We ate out and were on the golf course or hiking/biking at Cuyahoga National Park during most of the day, so we spent little time in the cottage.

Property was clean, homey and peaceful. The host was great at answering any questions that I had and also giving notice when neighbor was coming to water flowers. The kayaks were great and we enjoyed taking them out on the lake. My only suggestions would be to add a garden hose so that guests can rinse off easily after spending time in the lake. My other suggestion would be to have a vacuum cleaner available for quick clean-ups. We had a great time! Thank you!

We had a wonderful quiet stay at the lake house. Although tiny it had everything we needed. Owner quickly responded to all messages. Neighborhood felt safe and found many things to do in the area.

The location was on point. Great backyard space and dock space. My kids didn't mind wading right into the water amongst the seaweed.
*There is no railing around the top of the spiral staircase* We slid the love seat over and created a border for extra precaution. Worked perfectly fine.
The downstairs bathroom is just a sink and standing shower. The upstairs in sink and toilet. Both were very clean and well kept. Kitchen equipment was basic at most. *Suggestion - add a spatula.
Steve answered us quickly and we felt very welcome and safe in the space. Would stay again!

We stayed for 5 days over Memorial Day weekend - the appartment is really nicely decorated and all furnitures and appliances were in top condition. Small remark for improvement: kitchen equipment was substandard (no salad bowl, no cups, no big knife). Water is a bit smelly and the lower part of the appartment needs some refreshing scents…but we really enjoyed our stay, especially the garden and the direct access to Portage Lake - the kayaks were in good condition (incl. life vests). Super nice host - we would definitely come back!

... if you are a nature lover and don't want to miss the proximity to a big city and the comfort of a well-maintained property: this lakefront cottage is perfect for you.

The host went *above and beyond* for us. We found ourselves without power for a week and needed a place to stay and work immediately. We had a dog and a kid plus the adults in our family. This host got us in with minimal notice, was communicative and accommodating, and just made our unexpected trip so much easier. (We spoke with dozens of VRBO hosts and this was the only place that stepped up!) That aside, the house is comfortable, newly renovated, and the porch and lake outside made for a lovely stay. Can't say enough nice things. Book this place with confidence and enjoy!
