was close to town so walking down for a bite and a beer was convenient. was on an off street so was quiet. Had deer roaming around every day. cabins were clean and bed was comfortable. Cabin is small but that is fine since you don't spend much time there.
Residential traffic going by the cabin starts early in the morning and was awakened by side by sides, skidsteer and other louder vehicles driving by in them morning. Wireless was bad, almost unusable. I have a device that is wireless only so was pretty useless while i was there.

Nice location close to city but secluded so you feel like your not. Wildlife outside the cabin was a plus. Cabin has everything you need. No staff on site, self check in was very good. Inside is nice, a little old but still very nice.

The folks who were waiting for us to show up were actually out walking with the 'little one' when we got there. They had texted me the 'code' for the cabin. It's a really small town. The cabin gave us a view of the 'hill/mountain' right across the road. There is an outdoor 'patio' with a grill if you like, a couple video game machines and I remember a tic tac toe game in there. Take your favorite board game or puzzle and there is a place to do that too. We didn't use it because we were there to explore Mt. Rushmore and all the surroundings. We had a bed, shower and coffee in the morning. :-)
At first I had brought ground coffee and thought I could not use it because the machine is a keurig and I don't use those. My husband found the keurig coffee in a pull out drawer. I had only looked in the 'cupboard' under the coffee and did not notice the 'drawer.' I said I miss having a closet to hang up my clothes. My husband pointed out the hooks in the room and in the bathroom to use. He would be great in an escape room. I look for the obvious and he looks for potential. 'Meals' in the area are quite pricey and people who can cook that food must be hard to find. Honestly, we didn't have a good meal until we got back home. On the day of out 50th wedding anniversary we walked to 'Buffalo Bar & Grill' for supper and that was good food however. I don't know if you need charcoal for the grill on the patio or what, but if you can make your own meal somehow, that would probably be better and safer. There is a grocery store in Hill City. We didn't go in though.

We liked everything about it. It was very quiet, relaxing and no hassles. Shane is all about customer satisfaction and very helpful in anything we asked. We will for sure be back again for a stay,
Nothing all good. Everything met our expectations just not a long enough stay!

The location and facilities are awesome! These cabins were exactly what we were hoping for when visiting Hill City in the Black Hills. When we travel, we like to mark off as many experiences as possible, and staying at hotels isn't for us. The hosts were very pleasant, and the theme of the cabins fit perfectly for what we were after. A rustic feel with modern amenities that don't overpower the charm, and its all within easy walking distance to the restaurants and shops on the main street. You can even go out with your side by side and travel the trails they have in the hills. We will be back in the fall! Loved it.

Amazing place right in the center of the hills. Was easy to get everywhere we wanted. Cabins were great! Clean and quiet. We will always book here when we come to the hills.

looked good on internet
didn’t look like it did on the internet. so small door nearly hits bed coming in the door. with any luggage you have to step around just to get by another person. Cabin is a duplex adjoining another room where others are staying. No toilet paper. Not enough hot water to take a shower. Bed not comfortable at all. Only stayed one night and glad to leave.

nothing! the “cabin” I thought I booked ended up being the middle room in a 3 room “hotel “ that looked like a big storage shed with fake logs on front. Room smelled so strong of some kind of air freshener we had to open door( which screen stuck) and the one window so we could breathe. Bathroom was so small we had to open door, go in then close door, shower was like a camper, no shelves to put your stuff, sheets so thin you could read mattress letters and they wouldn’t stay on bed. Very disappointing stay, would have cancelled and gone somewhere else but of course it was non refundable!
Everything!! Read above!!

Hill City is between. Deadwood, keystone and Rapid City. It was a great location to stay. Cabin was a little small, but very cozy. It was well decorated. The host was nice. The 1880 train ride was great and only 6 blocks from the cabin. Downtown Hill City was 4 blocks away. It was a quiet area with 2- 10 deer across the street, outside my door every night and morning. There was a fire pit with a fire out back every night and a patio with enclosed game room next to it. We had a great time.
Would have liked a full kitchen. Every thing was expensive except the cabin we stayed in. There was a microwave and small refrigerator.

It is away from the tourist traffic, and conveniently located to the Black Hills sites, and roadways of Needles Highway, Wilderness Loop, Iron Mountain scenic road. Size of cabin lends to a cozy stay.
Nothing to really mention in this column.

The location is the "top positive" for Trails End. Hill City is a very active tourist town. However, at these cabins a person has the quiet of being away from the bustle and close to a lot of sites.
I am not able to point to anything negative.
