About this cabin rental
Are you looking for a relaxing time in the Flathead, where you can sit by a firepit, disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself - The Flathead Getaway Cabins are for you. Our Historic cabin made a 300-mile trek, from outside of Yellowstone Park to Woods Bay. We totally remodeled and updated this cabin into two private cabins. You can reserve either the Moose or Bear Getaway Cabin or rent both. The Bear cabin's "Great Room" has a vaulted ceiling, fully functional kitchen, TV, electric fireplace and a futon for 2 additional guests. The front porch faces a wooded area and has a firepit. You have access to a hiking trail only a few yards up from the cabin. Each cabin has 2 hiking sticks and bear spray for guests. The Bigfork and Woods Bay communities offer fine restaurants, fine arts, Theater, Live Music, golfing, Horseback Riding, all kinds of water sports, biking, hiking, fishing and more. The Flathead Getaway Cabins are 30 miles to the Glacier National Airport and only 40 miles to Glacier National Park.

We did not have a very good experience with this booking. It started with communication issues. Then upon arriving, discovered that they are not giving an accurate description of the cabin and area. There are 2 cabins divided in the back by a thin, non-insulated wall between the bedrooms which made for an uncomfortable experience. The 1st night we checked in (8 pm), the owner came to the other cabin (cleaning at 10 p.m.?) and while getting ready for bed, my daughter and I were having a chat/laugh and suddenly someone banged really hard on the bedroom wall yelling for us to "keep quiet, etc." clearly very angry and upset. It was 11:08 p.m. There was no other noise so we were shocked this happened. Needless to say it was hard to sleep after that! This set the tone for the rest of our stay. We felt very uncomfortable and unable to contact the owners for fear of upsetting them further. There were guests that checked in late the night before we left and they were up at 6:30 a.m. the next morning, woke us up being noisy, so I'm not sure what the "quiet hours" are. The cabin isn't overly clean and is lacking in supplies to make for a comfortable stay. It's located within a trailer park and tucked in behind a very busy highway. You couldn't safely walk anywhere, especially to the beach (which seems to be used by locals). The restaurants in the area are deplorable. I am sorry but I don't recommend this booking at all and am sad that this was our first Montana experience.

Thank you to our amazing host for the lovely anniversary gifts you left for us. The cabin was cozy and met all of our needs. Host was very responsive when we had questions. Checking in and out was a breeze. Notes: this is part of a larger property. 2 cabins in one. Only issue is in the bedroom. The back half must have a loft because there was walking above us. We were awaken 3 mornings in a row by the neighbors. Not being loud but sounded like they were in the room with us having conversation. Property is centrally located and has a convenience store very close. Thanks again.

The Bear cabin is such a fun, cozy cabin. The kitchen is very well appointed. The layout of the cabin allows for easy flow from kitchen to sitting area to bedroom. Such a quiet spot to rest beforea hecyic yeat
