Fantastic stay!! Our group which included 4 adults and 4 children ranging in age from 3-12 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kids commented they were living their best life! We enjoyed swimming in the pool, relaxing on the front porch and by the firepit. Mike and Mel were attentive hosts and did everything to make our stay top notch! Each morning, we awoke to firewood that was split and laid out for use that night. Each evening the tiki torches were lit for fun by the firepit. Relaxing stay with room enough for everyone. The fur babies enjoyed romping around the grounds, and I appreciate being able to take all of the family on vacation.

This is a wonderful place to stay for some rest and relaxation. We were so happy to have a quiet and clean place to stay during a long road trip. The hosts, Belinda and Mike, are very nice and communicative. Highly recommend!

Owner are friendly...but this place is a working kennel with tons of dogs roaming all the time. The owners stay on the property in a camper behind the house and roam around the property as they please. So if you are having a cup of coffee be prepared to have dogs and cats climbing on you and ppl walking around. 2 of the bedroom smelt like urine so bad, it was overwhelming. There are so many flies all over the house. We did not feel comfortable using the pool. The owners we very responsive.
Sorry I have never wrote a bad comment on and home rental place but this was disappointing to say the least.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Ozark Mountain Escape! There was plenty of room for our group of ten. The spacious living and kitchen area was perfect. The weather wasn’t ideal, but the rain gave us time to enjoy the inside activities and the firepit was awesome with the cooler weather. Mel and Mike were excellent hosts, responding very quickly to the few questions we had. They were even considerate enough to accept our very large grocery delivery and had it all put away when we arrived. They also were kind enough to show us an amazing river access that was very private. I would definitely recommend this home and hope to return! Our group rated it at the top of our vacations!

What a nice way to escape from the busyness of life at home to a quiet, spacious home! Mel and Mike are very welcoming and they made delicious meals - make sure you ask Mel for her famous biscuits and gravy!

We tried this place out, after needing a place that was close to floating! Best decision ever! The country feel, the spaciousness of the house, the pool, dogs on property, and the hosts were amazing! Also, utilized their offer in cooking breakfast for us, best biscuits and gravy EVER!!! If looking for a relaxing location in the country, this is it!

We really enjoyed our stay here. There was a large deck, yard, and fire pit space that we utilized to enjoy company, play volleyball & badminton (we brought with us) and had a fire each night. The host are very responsive and showed us a great river access area that we enjoyed on 2 days of our stay.

The home was very clean and had everything we needed. If we asked for something Mike and Mel were very accommodating and made sure we got what we needed. They were wonderful hosts. The area and views were wonderful; lovely country home setting. The pool was nice and we enjoyed cooling off after our day excursions.
The sleeping availability was overstated. It could sleep 6 very comfortably, and possibly 8 with roll away beds. We had 10 in our group and there were air mattresses available, but it may be better to have roll away beds that could be stored in the closets of the 2 bigger bedrooms. Then you don’t have to worry about air mattresses deflating overnight. The 2 bigger bedrooms were very spacious and could easily accommodate the roll away beds.
Mel and Mike ,Thank you for being wonderful hosts. We really did enjoy our stay.

We enjoyed spending time with family. We appreciated the large sectional that everyone could watch a movie together on, and the large dining room table that we gathered around numerous times to play games. We also appreciate that we could bring our dogs with us because they are a big part of our family. Mel did a great job communicating with us! We also enjoyed meeting some of Mel and Mike's dogs!

The cabin is spcious and tidy. The kitchen is well-stocked. Comfy beds. Extremely kind and helpful hosts who stay on the property. I was happy to have them there. They provided firewood and let my large group of teenagers hold their adorable puppies. The land is big and inviting. Great star gazing! We would love to come back when the pool is open!

If you are looking for a "Country Setting" this is the place for you. Wide open space outside and a very country look and feel inside.
Kitchen stocked with all kinds of do-it-yourself meal preparation, including some real nice Pampered Chef pieces, such as an air fryer and toaster oven.
Plenty of towels and linens for a big group and nice beds and bedding.
All kinds of outdoor seating for enjoyment and relaxation.
Mel and Mike were very friendly and great host!!!
Bear in mind tho...this is country. Can't reach it without driving quite some distance (at least a mile) on dirt road.

We had an amazing family get-together / weekend getaway at this peaceful cabin. Melinda and Mike went out of their way to be wonderful hosts. They personally guided us to a great spot nearby to enjoy the Fall beauty of the river. They also prepared an outdoor fire for us (there’s a really nice built in fire pit area). We loved the front porch (complete with a porch swing). We did some grilling and had a clear night for star-gazing. They are pet friendly and it was a bonus highlight of the weekend to get to meet their super-sweet and beautiful dogs! The house has a great setup for get-togethers and was comfortable, clean, and spacious, with decor that complemented the space and added to the feeling of getting away. The property is beautiful and quiet. We prepared our meals ahead of time, but I thought it was very cool (and unique) that Melinda is willing to cook for guests if that is of interest. (Like a B&B, only better, because you have the whole house to yourself)! Quality time was enjoyed by all and we are already talking about coming back. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful country getaway and great hosts who are willing to customize hospitality to fit the goals of your getaway.

Melina and Mike were wonderful from beginning to end! We communicated days before our stay that we would like to watch the Mizzou game Saturday morning and asked if they had yard games. They made sure we’d be able to watch the game, offered to make us dips and ordered us yard games! While we were they they welcomed us to pick fresh food from their garden. They were so inviting and we appreciated everything so much. We had perfect fall weather to enjoy the deck and yard during the day and a fire in the evening. Next time we visit will be to enjoy the pool! I will add, like previously said, they do stay on property and have pets fyi incase yours don’t get along with others. We brought our two dogs and were so happy there was no outrageous pet fees and our dogs got along just fine with theirs. Thank you for everything again!

First of all the house itself was nice very clean although lived in. We were very surprised when we arrived and found that the owners that actually live in the home were camped out next to the garage in a camper while we were there. When I searched this property I searched entire place to ourselves I feel that most of the verbiage was misleading. I had visions of using the pool and the fire pit area but we could not. The pool is in need of some repairs and was not as inviting as the pictures and the fire pit area was next to where the camper was so nothing felt very private. We adjusted our trip and just stayed gone during the day and didn't do the things we thought we were going to get to do outside. Had I known these things ahead of time I would have stayed a hotel or spent less on a place to stay just to have the place to sleep which is basically what we used this property for in the end. We never met Melinda however we did meet Mike upon arrival as he was trying to fix the internet said he did get it fixed but I will say the TV never worked until the 2nd day. The first night we ended up sitting on the couch watching the football game from my phone as none of the internet or TV would work. The second day it did work when we were there for a while. There were hot water issues. First morning we had hot water for showers that afternoon hot water would not work after hiking. The owners did seem to keep to themselves. Nice home, nice people, just not as expected.

The pictures do not do it justice on how large the space is! The location is perfect if you plan to check out the Onondaga cave tour. Couple of notes, there was a couple of areas in the bedrooms that smelled like dog pee. Another thing to note, while my group loves animals, but there was a few friendly cats and one dog that enjoyed greeting us on the porch areas. Highlights of the place; fire pit with hammock and nice sitting area, surround sound, large kitchen, flexible check in/out time and friendly hosts.

Unfortunately arrived later than would have liked and did t get to enjoy all the things gs we would have liked. But definitely will be booking again for more days this time to really take advantage of the property.

Perfect family vacation with my kids!! Country setting, but close to rivers for swimming/floating, caves for touring, hiking trails, restaurant, grocery store. Went spent the evenings grilling and eating s’mores by the relaxing fire pit. Plenty of movies and board games available too. Mel and Mike went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! Would definitely recommend for a quiet and relaxing vacation!!

Nice secluded home with plenty of space. We enjoyed the pool. Fully stocked kitchen. 30 min to Huzzah.
8.0 / 10.0
My family of 5 used this as a midway point between 2 destinations for 3 nights. We enjoyed our stay, used the pool when weather permitted, and visited local attractions. Hosts are very nice and proactive (let us know of a storm ahead of our arrival and came to clean the pool so we could use aftward). We were unable to use the firepit area due to rain but it looked nice. The property is quite peaceful, down a dirt road, with distance between neighbors. Not accustomed to the country, the ticks were shocking and kept us from enjoying the yard and porch...so come prepared. We were also surprised by the amount of flies in the house but there was no way around it every time a door opened. Perhaps it was due to the daily rains we had and the rural location, but do not plan to work remote or stream. Come here to unplug. I would advise bringing groceries from home as the local store prices are ludicrous.
Overall, this was great few days to enjoy a new experience and reconnect. If we are ever back in MO I would consider staying here again.

This house is out in the country. It’s peaceful, well-stocked, and spacious. The host met us to pick fresh veggies from the garden, started us a fire, provided s’mores ingredients, and even cooked us breakfast. Sounds amazing right?! We only stayed a night but would have loved to stay longer.

Arrived to a lovely, comfortable, quiet environment as expected. The Grands immediately migrated to the pool while dinner was pulled together. From the kitchen window we watched hummers come to the flowers next to the pool.
Part of our group had been camping prior to the gathering and were welcomed to do so here on their nicely maintained property.
Our hosts were pleasant, helpful and most welcoming! Couldn't ask for nicer people.
Explored the neighboring areas the following day. Floated the Meramec River on a Tuesday, perfect for the first timers, the littles and seasoned floaters to enjoy.
This dwelling had plenty of space for everyone. Rotation showering in both bathrooms and we never ran out of hot water or fresh towels.
Unfortunately, one of us had to be available for work related meetings during our stay and found the wifi wasn't able to keep him connected adequately. A glitch in an otherwise great celebration of our oldest grand!
We will gladly return to enjoy this truly awesome area of Missouri! No doubt we'll check availability here first when we decide to return!

We hung out at the stream one day, float trip another, relaxed at the pool, enjoyed some fireworks with property owner, relaxed, had a very enjoyable time. We set up a day for the owner to cook us breakfast and it was fantastic. Really can't say enough about the great comunnications and interactions with the owner of the property.

This property is Beautiful, quiet and very large. You will have plenty of room for everyone! We had 2 Families there, 4 adults and 4 kids and a dog. The kids loved the pool! Big dinning room table for us to play games, cards or dice, (which were already there which was great) The owner was amazing! Super friendly and very welcoming and helpful with whatever we needed. It was a perfect place for all of us to get together and enjoy our time together. Thank you Melinda for all your hospitality!!! I would definitely recommend this place, we would definitely go back. ☆☆☆☆☆ 5 stars

Property is spacious and well maintained. Host was very friendly, informative, hospitable, and quick to respond and offer suggestions. She drove us to a great river spot and let us know local fireworks were happening which were added, unexpected bonuses. It was not disclosed in advance but another bonus for us were the dogs in the nearby barn and a very friendly neighbor dog. There were way more than enough towels, laundry soap, tissues, to, paper towels, coffee, seasonings, etc. Although there are plenty of plates cups etc and a dishwasher, if you want to be extra lazy bring your own paper plates etc. We made use of the pool, bbq grills, smoker, and fire pit and all were in great shape and easy to use. We would definitely return and are grateful we chose this place for our group of 14 adults and kids.

We loved the peacefulness of this home. The stars were amazing... sky so much clearer being away from the city! The pool was clean and so relaxing! We enjoyed coffee on the deck every morning, listening to the sounds of nature and watching the hummingbirds! Didn't mind the stray dog "Git" that came around to love on us and the momma cat and kitten were entertaining and adorable.... farm life at it's finest!
Host was on top of everything! Super friendly... even left us some garden fresh lettuce in the fridge for us to enjoy a salad on our visit!
