About this house rental
The condo offers stunning panoramic views of downtown Milwaukee and is perched on a hill overlooking the Milwaukee River. It’s a spacious, open-concept unit featuring a gas fireplace for cozy winters and a large patio perfect for summer relaxation. Within a 10-15 minute walk, you'll find numerous restaurants and shops. Lavender Hill is a quiet, charming neighborhood with the convenience of being close to downtown, offering the best of both worlds.
Originally built by a German artist in 1894, the Victorian home has been carefully restored and converted into two condos, with the unit available on the first floor. Fully updated in a modern style, it’s just a 10-15 minute walk to North Ave, Brady St, and downtown. The unit includes a large porch complete with patio furniture, a peninsula gas fireplace, in-unit laundry, WiFi, and a 50” flat-screen TV. It has two bedrooms—one with a queen bed, another with a queen-over-queen bunk bed, and a queen-size cabinet bed (similar to a Murphy bed) in the main living area. Off-street parking is available for one car, with ample street parking nearby. A bus stop is conveniently located one block away. Cable is provided through AT&T Direct Stream.
Although fully updated, the home retains some characteristics of its age. The upstairs unit has wood floors, and the sound insulation isn’t perfect, so noise from above may be audible. **Please note that the upstairs unit is also a rental. While the house rules prohibit late-night parties and emphasize respect for the downstairs unit, noise from large groups may be noticeable. If this is a concern, another listing might better suit your needs. Additionally, to respect the upstairs guests, loud or late-night parties are not permitted. If your visit to Milwaukee is for a more lively experience, staying at a hotel might be a better choice.
Lavender Hill is a peaceful neighborhood with a strong sense of community. Although tucked away in a quiet area, it’s right on the edge of downtown, providing easy access to everything. Most downtown destinations are just a 10-15 minute walk away, and a taxi or Uber ride typically costs less than $10. The bus stop is just one block away.

A perfect house at a perfect location. Easy to walk to most places. Beautiful front porch for relaxing. Great assortment of kitchen pots and pans to be able to make a meal. The beds were comfortable although the bunk bed was a bit of a tough climb for an adult.
The baby bunnies in the front lawn were fun to watch and the parking was easy. We would definitely stay here again!!!

The lockbox is confusing to open as well as the front door but we eventually figured it out . We were a family of 4 very tall people. The beds were long enough and the mattresses were comfortable. There is a bunk bed with a flimsy ladder that is difficult to climb if you are very tall or overweight or elderly. The refrigerator is small so plan accordingly. The washer and dryer worked well and there was sufficient detergent. The kitchen windows do not have screens on them and we were surprised that flies didn’t fly inside. An Iron without the board. The decor is very attractive and comfortable. Plenty of toilet paper, towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Lots of outlets to plug in your devices. The onsite parking space was easy to access. Glover Street is a one way that leads into Booth Street and drivers are constantly using the driveway of the property to turn around in. It wasn’t annoying just noticeable. The upstair’s unit is a little creaky/noisy. Across the street is a walkway with stairs leading down to a pathway. It is a popular place for couples to stand and hug. We thought it was cute and romantic. The location feels safe. We had a mix of women and men in our group and everyone felt safe. The porch is a great little place to sit outside and socialize. There are 3 cute bunnies that roam around the lawn. We absolutely adored having them in the yard. We recommend the property for a vacation. It is easy to access anywhere in the city of Milwaukee.

We had a lovely stay in MKE, the house was clean, roomy, well-decorated and in an amazing neighborhood. The owners left us a coffee cake upon arrival for breakfast, which was a super nice touch. Thank you for a great first time in your city! We will be back!

This property was in a great location, super cute space with plenty of space to sleep 4 comfortably. Plenty of space, perfect for a girls weekend! We were able to get Ubers to the Public Market, could have walked to Lakefront Brewery. Great time! Thanks!
The only thing to improve is the lock on the outside door was tricky to get to work, even with the directions.

Cool newly renovated spot, the bed broke that my brother was sleeping on, but they sent a handy man out to fix it the next day.

The property was nice and spacious. It had a wonderful porch and the view of the city is fantastic! It is close enough to downtown in a relatively quiet neighborhood.

The place is so comfortable with plenty of space and a lovely porch. The view can’t be beat and the walkability is amazing. We barely used our car. Brady Street has everything. We even took the shuttle from one of the bars to the Brewers game. There is a park nearby for early morning walks. We have discussed coming back.

This is the first time I have stayed at a Vrbo or is it Air bnb so my review might not be what is expected. But, saying that, I will say this house was very clean although owners obviously live there. Next stay had nothing so good to have coffee! The large balcony was great for chatting and enjoying the breeze. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and would highly recommend it.
