Great location, quiet neighborhood. Lovely riverside property. Main floor is quite nice, basement ceilings are quite low if you are tall.
Quite enjoyed our week here.

What a great location and serene relaxing place. thank you!

Stunning back yard and view but house had odd steps of varying heights everywhere and lower level (basement) had very low ceilings w odd bulkheads. Layout would be great for 5-12 year old children and parents but was confusing and somewhat dangerous for elderly.

We enjoyed our stay at the chateau. Quiet neighborhood right on the river was perfect for our weekend getaway. There were some basic maintenance issues we encountered, but nothing to spoil our experience. Be aware, there are MANY steps around the house…may be difficult for some disabled individuals. Overall, however, I would certainly recommend this property, it is beautiful.

Beautiful and well equipped property with plenty of amenities and excellent views. House is at the end of a dead end drive with access to almost anywhere in Indianapolis within 30 minutes.
The views are excellent. Weather didn’t cooperate with us for outside activities (-4). Beds are very comfortable but the rooms can get quite cold if you aren’t prepared.
Well appointed kitchen with a gas stove. Large refrigerator and freezer. Plenty of dining and lounging space. Master bathroom is really nice with a large shower, tall enough for me at 6’.
We didn’t bring our dogs but there is a nice fenced in area in the back. Neighbor dogs made a ruckus during the day once but other than that we didn’t hear them at all.
Parking for four cars easily.
Great communication with the owners.

Our stay was very relaxing. No disturbances. The home was unique and spacious with great views and outdoor space by the river. Basic necessities were readily available. We felt comfortable as the place was clean and pleasant. The home had 4 TVs and board games too. We would recommend. Would mention there are a lot of transitions with steps within the home.

Our family absolutely loved this place. The pictures don’t do it justice. The patio and backyard are absolutely amazing. It’s on a very quiet dead end road. I would highly recommend this property to friends and family. We had no idea Indy was as nice as it is. The zoo and the children’s museum are a must while you’re in town.

We rented this in November for a local sporting event for our son, and would love to visit in the summer. The two fire pits, large yard, and fishing gear would be great to use on the River location.
The house has two beds down (would consider adding queens vs twins), and a king master up. The teens liked having their own area downstairs. The master bath is very nice. There are a lot of small stairs throughout inside and outside, but was no problem for us (heads up if you have accessibility requirements).
It’s in a great area for activities and food, but tucked away so you feel like it’s a real getaway. Enjoyed!!

We stayed at the river house for our annual ladies trip and were really happy with the house. The upstairs level is nicely updated with lots of room to gather and hang out. The outdoor space was amazing. The two deck areas are very beautiful and relaxing!

We traveled from Michigan to visit our Butler University kiddo, to help him celebrate his birthday. The home was lovely, clean, and worked so well for our family. Our 14 pound Havanese loved the house and the backyard too! The house had everything we needed, and my college kiddo was able to return to campus with a full tummy and clean laundry. We would love to stay here again!

We have stayed at VRBO homes many times and in many states over the past few years, and we have never stayed anywhere that was as picturesque, well-run (i.e., good communication and easy instructions) and clean and well-stocked as the River Chateau! The kitchen had everything we needed, and the bedrooms all had comfy sheets and extra blankets. The setting is beautiful—the house is near the end of a dead-end street, with woods behind it, so it is very tranquil. The yard is big (we brought a frisbee and a portable badminton set, and there was a football at the house) and being on the river gave us beautiful and peaceful views in the morning, and it was fun to watch the various watercraft that went by during the day. Guests should note that the 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom that are on the first floor have low ceilings and 1 has a steep step down. The shower and toilet on that floor were a bit of a challenge for my 6 foot 4 inch brother, but he was able to make it work. The primary bed and bath, though, were spacious with two sinks, a rain shower, king-sized bed and a walk-in closet. It is also important to know that the whole house has a lot of steps--sometimes at unexpected places. Also, bring drinking water as the well water has a distinctive smell and taste. There are two decks with plenty of seating and fireplace for s’mores! The location of the house was great for getting around Indy—we could easily get everywhere we wanted to go. Without question we will definitely try to stay here again, as we come to the area frequently, and we enjoyed our stay so much!

Had a great girls getaway to see the Monet exhibit at Newfields. Weather was perfect to sit outside for dinner and fireplace. I do agree with the other reviews that there are a lot of small steps into some of the bedrooms and small one into the kitchen but other than that we absolutely loved it.

Very nice home that is well equipped. Very great yard with multiple fire pits and access to the white river. Multiple tvs if you have kids with you and easy to use home. Highly recommended.

5 stars overall! Just be aware that if there is anyone in your party that is 6'6" or better, you either have to give them the master suite or they will be whacking their head downstairs if not careful. Pretty sure this was mentioned in the description or previous comments, so we were prepared. Nice place. Clean and well cared for!

We had a blast at the River Chateau! The house was lovely and I have a whole new level of porch envy. Plus, the space(s) at the riverside made for some amazing evening views.
Tamara was helpful and responsive. We couldn't have asked for a better host!

This is our second stay on the rivers edge at the River Chateau. We visited Indy to spend time with family and this home accommodated us fine plus a couple dogs. The homes location is conveniently located near Broad Ripple area and only a short drive to downtown. We spent plenty of time at the house enjoying the large deck with great views of the river. Easy access to the river just outside the yard. The dogs enjoyed the fenced in yard with plenty room to run. Only drawbacks there are lots of stairs and the house has well water. We are already looking at staying again next summer.

We had a great stay. Tamara was very accommodating and had great communication. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was well appointed as others mentioned.
The bottom floor is definitely colder but we found a balance that worked for us on the thermostat. I recommend bringing a long sleeve and socks/slippers just in case you need it.
There are lots of stairs inside and out. That worked just fine for us but for someone with mobility issues or eyesight issues may not handle the small changes in steps near the kitchen/bedroom/bath area as well.
The lower level is not for very tall people. One other spot that is shorter is door frame between the primary bedroom and bathroom. My husband is 6’4+ and he’s used to ducking around things but he forgot once :p This shouldn’t be an issue for most people but it’s worth mentioning.
We rented a pontoon boat on the Geist Reservoir for the day. That was awesome. We went to the Children's Museum and it’s not to miss, for all ages. Tons of other things to do around the area as well
We highly recommend this place. It’s quiet, it’s fun watching boats go by on the river. We had s’mores outside. We have dogs and small children so the fenced in area was fantastic. I saved White Truck Getaways for future reference as the other properties also look amazing. We’ll use Tamara and colleagues when we return.
Thanks for having us!

The house was clean, well maintained and had updated appliances. The patio and outdoor areas have plenty of seating for large amounts of guests.

It was dreamy to sit out on the deck, watching kayakers slip by on the White River. We would go out for a drink, then bring our dinner out for sunset, then finding ourselves talking until bedtime. So restful and beautiful. Spacious master suite. Would be happy to come back time and again to enjoy the deck and the river.

Spent 3 nights at this great property. Communication from Tamara was excellent. Spent most of our time on the deck with a fire or relaxing on the riverfront. Location to everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

Our son was married this weekend and we stayed 4 nights at this beautiful property. Every convenience was thought of here! My husband and I were able to spread out in the XL master/large bathroom & walk-in closet , on upper level. The two spacious other bedrooms with full bath on lower level with two great sitting areas. Ample deck space and XL fenced in back yard was perfect for business calls, doggie walks and relaxation. The kitchen was very nice along with another large sitting area off the dining/kitchen. We also loved the “breezeway” which you enter into. We had several wedding bins etc that we could stack in that area. This house has everything and the guys even fishes a little with the poles provided. Great place!!

We stayed at the River Chateau while visiting family in Indy and had a great stay!
The house is down a one way street that we never knew was there. The house is pretty close to other houses as would be expected in a city, but the yard is huge and the decks lovely.
It was cold for our stay, so we did not get to enjoy the outside very much, but it made for nice scenery.
The kitchen is well appointed. They even have a good set of knives, and nice bbq utensils. And the bathrooms are very clean. The upstairs bathroom is pretty luxurious.
A few things to note that were not problems for us but maybe could be:
- The rooms with the single beds are on the ground floor while the master bedroom is on the top floor. That was fine for us this time but when our kids were younger they might have found it too far from us.
- The heater and washer dryer are right by the downstairs bedrooms which could be loud. We use white noise at night so it was fine.
- The downstairs bedrooms have low ceilings. That’s great for kids, but something to be aware of if you have tall people in your party. A 6ft 2” person might have to duck a little in one of the rooms.
- The downstairs sitting areas are pretty chilly, they have a space heater that helps, but be sure to have your cozy PJs and maybe a throw blanket or two if you’re coming in the cold weather.
- The downstairs bathroom is quite small, though this is made up for by the huge bathroom upstairs.
- The house is not handicapped accessible. There are stairs everywhere. You can’t get in the house or to the decks/backyard without stairs. This will be totally fine and kind of neat for most people, but thought we’d mention it in case that’s a consideration for you.
Overall this is a great place with responsive hosts. Would highly recommend unless any of the above would be a showstopper for you.

This home surpassed the expectations! The kids had space to enjoy each others company. The dogs could run in the fenced in yard. We enjoyed our clean and comfortable stay at River Chateau! Owner was responsive and kind!

This place was so great! So often it’s difficult to find such a nice, clean place while traveling with pets. This was IT!!! The fenced in backyard and deck was amazing! House had everything you needed! Close to Keystone, Monon shops, literally anything! Can’t recommend this place enough!

This was a lovely find! We had a lovely visit. The beds were comfortable. The layout was great. The backyard was perfect. The neighborhood was nice. Bring an extra blanket, it is chilly. But the house is gorgeous, and the host is fabulous! Highly recommend! So beautiful.

Tucked away in a sweet quiet neighborhood we found the perfect Indiana getaway house. We are a family of 6 and a dog and this house accommodated us all perfectly. The inside is modern, clean and welcoming. The outside has many areas to relax and enjoy the White River. We weren’t able to spend too much time in the backyard since our trip was short and a bit rainy but it’s clear to see the potential for outdoor dining and bonfires. The forest preserves and parks nearby were so much fun for the kids and dog too. Can’t wait for our next trip to Indianapolis!

My cousin and I stayed here on my wedding weekend. The location was perfect. Amazing views of the river and a beautiful deck/yard to take it all in. Incredible bathroom was an added bonus.

Nieces wedding was cancelled because of covid19 concerns. We decided to go anyway. We were very impressed. Wished we could have stayed longer. Such a lovely home and property.

My husband and our dog stayed to visit family and celebrate our Anniversary. It was a beautiful inside and out. Our dog loved the yard with a fence… it was certainly her favorite trip because of that. The river was a relaxing treat. We were able to order plenty of delicious food at the location. We appreciated how dog friendly the stay was… the covers for the couch were great. We couldn’t have had a better experience. The host replied immediately to any questions which was very impressive.

I stayed here with my sisters and it was a lovely cottage. Clean, cute, tons of space to spread out inside and out. I couldn’t believe how close it was to the Keystone area and yet still so quiet by the river. My only caution is that there are a lot of onesie/twosie steps in the house. A step up into the kitchen, a step down from the bathroom, that kind of thing. Not a problem for us but if our (senior) mother had been with us, I would’ve been concerned about her tripping. Just something to make note of before you plan your trip, but we loved it overall.

We stayed here for three nights and thought it was so outstanding we rented it for two more days. The host was great in coordinating the additional days. This is a must stay. Right on the river.

Rented home to act as home base for daughter’s wedding in Indianapolis. Large master bathroom and bedroom worked well for bridal party to get ready morning of.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The home is absolutely beautiful,. The backyard, with it’s tiered decks and outdoor fireplace was a great place to entertain and the dock on the river was a great place to start the day with a cup of coffee or unwind at the end of the day with a glass of wine. The kitchen was fully up to date, and the furniture was comfortable and in excellent condition. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Indy.
