About this house rental
Come relax in this luxurious antique-appointed lakehouse with private covered dock. This very unique home - filled with stained glass windows and oriental rugs - is tastefully decorated and designed for comfort. Four wings were added on to the original A-frame house so there’s plenty of space for large groups or it’s cozy enough for two. The house overlooks a quiet cove on Lake Barkley and is less than 10 minutes away from Eddy Creek Marina Resort.
The large central room has an open kitchen and dining area, and a comfortable living room and cozy sunroom extend off each side, providing multiple places to gather with family and friends. But you’ll want to spend most of your time on the large deck that overlooks the water and is shaded by gorgeous trees. Or, you can unwind in the screened-in lower porch, relax on a glider swing on a lower level of the deck, or gather around the fire pit on the stone patio – so many levels where you can enjoy the lake view! In cooler weather you’ll love the gas fireplaces with antique mantels on each level.
The main floor and lower floor have private bedrooms that sleep 2 each; the bunkbed/trundle room on the lower level sleeps 3; and a twin and double bed in the loft sleeps 3 more for a total of 10 guests. There’s a spacious bathroom with a walk in shower on both levels.
The kitchen is completely furnished with all dishware and cooking amenities, coffee maker, dishwasher and microwave, and there’s a gas grill on the deck. All three bedrooms, living room and sun room have TVs, some with Roku and the others have DVD players and/or a Wii. High speed fiber optic internet is provided. A laundry room is located off the lower level bathroom.
The Land Between the Lakes area offers many recreational activities that are just a short drive away, including biking, hiking, horseback riding, golf, disc golf, or visiting historical attractions. Or you can rent a boat from Eddy Creek Marina right up the road, and fish, swim, and boat around Lake Barkley right from your own dock. If you bring your own boat, you can put in at the marina and it's a short ride to the house. The boat slip may be occupied but you can tie up to the outside of the dock. Being on the cove is nice because you can float or paddle around without worrying about the current in the main part of the lake. Four paddleboards are usually available to use (ask us, there are 2 weekends they are not available). There are several seasonal restaurants nearby.
Please be aware of a few things before booking this home. Getting to the loft requires climbing a narrow ladder and is not suitable for older folks or small children. There are many steps that lead down to the water. The driveway to the house is very steep, although you may use the adjoining neighbor’s driveway. There are spots to park 2-3 vehicles but no room for trailers (boat trailers can be left at the marina). The area is very hilly and steep so use caution on the neighborhood roads. Please contact us before booking if you have any questions.
All bed linens and pillows are provided, plus bath towels and beach towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner, laundry detergent, dish soap, cleaning supplies, deck chairs.
No smoking inside or out; no parties; up to 2 dogs allowed with pet fee.

Love the cabin, the host goes above with stocking and amenities inside. Plenty of room , nice deck, screened in room , really couldn’t ask for more . My only concern is the lake access. Many lakes in Kentucky are man made and as a result are cabins built on steep hillsides.

Great place to stay had everything we needed and great dock. The pictures don’t do the house justice. Hosts were fantastic and non intrusive. One tip the moon river marina offers multi day boat rentals. And Eddy creek marina very fair on gas prices.

Loved everything about the house except the AC wasn’t working great. The owners were very helpful and had a guy out the next morning but the temp was inconsistent throughout the house.

We spent 9 nights at this home for our first ever family vacation. Our kids ages range from 13 - 28. The home was very spacious leaving room for everyone to spread out and not get in each others way. The bathrooms are stunning. The kitchen is very well stocked. The whole house has everything you need as if you were already home. I enjoyed coffee every morning on the deck and the screened-in porch when it rained. We spent lots of time on the dock fishing and in the water. We highly recommend.

Brenda’s home was just what we all wanted and needed!
The house was comfortable, clean and beautifully styled. A perfect combo of rustic and modern with all the comforts of a home! There was enough seating at the dinner table as well as a big table with lots of seating outside-huge plus, and often hard to come by! Many deck levels were very fun to hang out at! Fire pit with lots of wood provided by the owners! Loved all the bird feeders on the top deck, which was huge and completely surrounded by trees! Enough bath and beach towels, extra blankets and pillows, and all beds were comfortable! Kitchen was well stocked with variety of cooking utensils, as well as spices, sugar, etc. Fishing by the dock was superb, kids kept catching fish all weekend long, as well as seeing turtles! The area is wooded with tall old trees, and is easy to get to from the main road.
Big thanks to Brenda for letting us spend such a fun weekend in her beautiful home!
