Come visit our western retreat! This house has a long history in my family, my grandparents purchased it nearly 40 years ago and raised 5 children here. After my grandfather passed I was blessed with the opportunity to purchase it. I spent 6 years living and remolding this house before moving to the end of the street into another fix-er up-er.
As you can see in the pictures the entire upstairs has custom hardwood flooring. Each room has a different species of flooring along with a different hardwood trim. Over half of the furniture in the house was been hand made by myself or friends of the family.
The kitchen is fully furnished with all the basic cooking utensils you will need. All of the appliances are full size. The kitchen table is set for 4 but we have had as many as 8 people gather around it for family dinner.
The living room is fitted with a huge leather couch, 1 recliner, and one hand made rocking chair. There are gas logs for your enjoyment in the winter time. Atop the walnut mantel is a 50''Samsung LED tv with a Roku streaming device. Please note the tv is only set up for streaming.
There are 3 Bedrooms upstairs, all of them are full of unique western style furnishings. The master bedroom has a half bath attached to it. As you walk down the hall you will pass the main bathroom with a shower and bathtub.
There is another full size bedroom and bathroom in the basement. The laundry room is just around the corner.
The game room is also located in the basement and has a pool table, vintage arcade, dart board, and a 50'' smart tv for your enjoyment.
This home was built in the 70s and updated in 2018.
Outside you will see that the lake is only about 50 steps away. There are concrete steps all the way into the water. The shoreline is perfect for swimming or just hanging out. The lake bottom is a rock/mud combination. The boat traffic is a safe distance away leaving you several hundred yards of calm area to swim in. There will be plenty of room for a fire on the shoreline as long as the water level isn't higher than normal. With being on the lake there is always a chance of bugs, please understand we do everything we can to keep the outside of the house clean but sometimes it just is not possible. June, July, and August have what is called a Mayfly hatch occasionally, they do not bite and are good for fishing.
We are located on the main channel and not allowed a dock permit. I live at the end of the street and have 3 docks docks on the bay-side that you are welcome to use. My covered dock is about 500' away, you can walk or drive down and park in my driveway. All 3 docks on the bayside are available for your use. They will easily hold 30'-40' boats. You can use the dock overnight. There is no power on the docks.

Guests praised the property for its ample sleeping spaces, game room, and proximity to a public beach. They enjoyed the peaceful lake view and activities nearby.
10.0
We came down for a scouting for the campgrounds in the area and to ride ATVs and we’re lucky enough to drive about 30 minutes from the home and watch the eclipse.
The home was exactly as listed in VRBO, the house was clean with some unique horseshoe furniture. The home could use a few little updates, but overall the only issue that we can think of, was a musty smell, but it dissipated as time went on, so it was no big deal, and the only other recommendation I have is to have some hand soap, dish soap, and maybe a sone bar soaps.
The owner was very easy to get in touch with through email we emailed back-and-forth with no issues. The house is pet friendly, which is a huge bonus for us since we travel with our dogs, and they loved the backyard and walking down to the water edge.
We would stay there again, the view of the water and the bridge are fabulous.

Good communication with the owner. House was everything we expected.

Our stay was lackluster not only due to the condition of this property, but also our experience with the host. Never been treated like this on VRBO. Ever in all the years we’ve been renting. The property has 3 upstairs bedrooms and all who stayed there complained about hard mattresses and there is one bathroom to share. There is a downstairs bed/bath, which, in my opinion is unusable due to the water/toilet leak and mold in the bathroom. There’s a musty smell in the entire basement. One room with bunkbeds has a wall torn out with a dehumidifier exposed. There is a room downstairs closed off with the concrete floor open and exposed. There is no beach. You cannot use the backyard/steps because, in my opinion, it’s dangerous. The area is overgrown and the steps are unkept and in need a repair. The balcony off the top portion of the house is covered with mold and mildew, the railing is bent, and chairs were unkept. The kitchen is ok, inside of the cabinets have old, dirty paper inside, the appliances are old and we were left to use a broken trashcan. At one point during the trip, our refrigerator went out, and we lost an entire fridge of food. We were on the lake all day and was not aware it went out til too late. Not even an I’m so sorry - nothing. His communications have left us with the impression that he’s put out and clearly not accomodating to his guests, especially for the price we paid. The value DID NOT meet the price but mostly disappointed with the host.

Property was good for our adult kids and us to spend time together. Plenty of spaces for sleeping and the pool table and arcade game area made a perfect wind down area. We enjoyed the public beach 5 miles away. The sunsets are worth experiencing down by the water.
As others have said, if you want to use the outside deck area be prepared to use a broom and some elbow grease but once cleaned up it was a great space for morning coffee.

The family loved the game room located on the lower level. The home was beautifully decorated. Owner was great with communication and questions. I would definitely recommend and stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The view of the lake was so peaceful. We did a little hiking at LBL and mostly enjoyed the quiet of the area during this holiday season.

We were looking for a place on the lake and close to Turkey Bay OHV Park, as we brought our SXS. This place was perfect! The house was roomy, clean, well decorated, and full of fun activities for the kids! The owner responded almost immediately and didn’t hesitate with any requests! We will definitely be booking this place on a regular basis!

The Patterson House was everything my family needed for a much needed long weekend.. The house was everything that Lucas said it would be. Great deck and wonderful views of the water. Basement steps very steep but we made it ok. Everyone loved the pool table and the arcade gaming unit. We are planning our next visit to the area and will book this house again if it’s available..

Booked this property the night before we left. It's a cute house with a pretty view. It's on a quiet street close to paved and gravel biking trails. We biked every day. We also enjoyed the pool table and the beautiful sunsets. I highly recommend this rental.

We had a great time. The location was perfect as it was on a quiet dead end street and right on the lake. The house was very comfortable and clean. Especially loved the retro arcade game! Don’t be alarmed that the deck will have its share of bugs and spider webs which I just swept away with a broom. That is just the nature of living next to the lake. We will definitely be renting from this owner again!

This was our first time coming to Ky Lake and chose this house because it was pet friendly. When we arrived and entered the home things seem to be very neat and clean. I rated it a four star because I felt the floors had not been cleaned very well but over all everything else seemed good. I had read the reviews and it said kitchen was well equipped but I felt there was a few things that should have been in kitchen but overall it had most that was needed. The steps downstairs I felt was a little steep and my 73 yr old mother could not go downstairs. We would definitely recommend it to our friends.

Enough space for 7 adults, bedrooms were nice. Great table for playing cards and games in the kitchen. Creatively decorated.

The property was a perfect location from my family to meeting for Thanksgiving. Some family members were driving from Illinois and others from NC.
I was disappointed in the kitchen utensils and what was available. I'm sure a large part of my disappointment was because I was cooking a Thanksgiving dinner. I purchased measuring cups, teaspoons, cake pans and a cookie sheet. I left them and donating them to your kitchen.
The stairs to the lower level are dangerous. The steps are not the same size. When going up and down the stairs you must be vary cautious.
We enjoyed the view of the lake and the neighborhood. It was very relaxing and we were able to do some hiking. There were about 6 Cardinals in the backyard tree. It was fun watching them go after the berries.
We would come back to this property again. I hope my comments will help other families visiting in the future.
Take care,
Linda Arnold

Everything was fine. Was disappointed that lake access is hard for small children and older adults. Pictures of backyard make it seem a lot bigger then it actually is. Overall nice place and convenient location.

We had a lovely time. The view from the back deck was amazing. The kitchen needs more amenities such as pots and pans. We truly enjoyed our stay and recommend it. The basement stairs are steep as mentioned in other reviews.

The property was fine, clean, large. Everything we expected. The area, not so much. Not much to do, nothing has been opened yet, even restuarants were hard to find during the week, until Thursday.

Our family stayed at the Patterson house and it did not disappoint. I honestly can say I would not have changed a thing.

The location right off of 68 made getting to any place in the NRA very easy. The property itself was cool especially the view of Lake Barkley and the basement decor. The property manager even went out of his way to help us cut off a bike lock / cable that had jammed. Without his help, we would not have been able to use one of our bikes.

Home has everything you need to be comfortable and a feel like your at home. 2nd time here and will stay again. The owner Luca responds quickly if any questions or problems (we couldnt get fireplace turned on ). Gave suggestions on good places to eat and shop. And pass to the park recreational center was wonderful. We used the pool and spa. Thanks for having a place we could enjoy. Oh,want to say that being able to see the view of the lake at sunrise and sunset so beautiful.
