About this apartment rental
This clean, well-appointed upstairs studio at Casa Rivera, is steps from the vibrant Los Olivos wine tasting scene (we have lots of 5 star reviews of our other "Sweet Queen Retreat" downstairs space on the same property). The 560 sq ft studio has a king size bed and sleeper sofa, two private decks, and a kitchenette with sink and fridge and lots ways to make coffee. With all the other thoughtful details we are known for, your stay is sure to be memorable.
This spacious studio is ideal for two people but can accommodate three between a king bed and a futon-style sleeper sofa (complete with a mattress topper and bedding tucked away in the closet until it’s used). With its open plan format the king bed is adjacent to a separate lounge area with a 55” TV so it can be easily viewed anywhere in the space. A long chaise sits in the corner by the window for comfy reading and napping. The kitchenette has a sink, mini-fridge with freezer and is equipped with lots of things to make coffee - french press, pour over, single serve 12 cup brewed, bean grinder, frother, as well as half n half and Nut Pods creamer in the fridge. There is also an 18-bottle wine fridge to take care of those treasures you bring home from a day of tasting. The bathroom has a shower tub combo and there is a built in dresser should you be coming for more than a couple nights. Just off the lounge area is a covered deck with Adirondack chairs, a propane fire pit and beautiful views of the lush hillsides which surround the town - a perfect place to watch the sun set over Ballard Canyon. Just outside the front door is a second deck that usually gets full sun and is an ideal place to grab some privacy outside. The studio is full of hand-crafted art and furnishings made by the hosts and designed to create a harmonious color story and one-of-kind vibe.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The host, Mia, was very welcoming and went above and beyond during our stay. She was available for any questions or needs and quick to respond. The studio was clean and quiet and really had everything we needed. The location was perfect, easy walking distance to local tasting rooms and restaurants. We will definitely be back and would stay here again and again. Highly recommend.

The property is wonderful. The location was convenient to everything in town, and easily drivable to all of the vineyards. The apartment was well appointed, comfortable, and large. The deck was small but perfect for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. By far the best part of the stay was the wonderful information that Mia provided us with. She gave us recommendations for places to eat, wineries to visit, and scenic drives in the area, all of which were even better than expected. She was the perfect host!! We would wholeheartedly recommend her place and definitely stay here again.

Mia’s place exceeded our expectations! The location is perfect - you can easily walk to any downtown tasting rooms, shops, breweries and restaurants yet it’s still tucked away to give you peace & quiet when you want it. Mia is an attentive and caring host who wanted to make sure our stay was amazing. She had great recommendations on local places to go and left us fresh baked goods in the mornings. The King Retreat itself is a spacious studio that is fully equipped with everything you need for a weekend away in wine country. The bed was so comfortable and the space is full of unique, thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home. We will definitely be staying again in the future. Do yourself a favor and book this absolute gem of a Vrbo.

This place is a great addition to the Los Olivos area. Especially with local hotels costing significantly more but offering less.
There’s a private balcony with a propane fire ring that makes for tranquil mornings, or a perfect place to relax after wine tasting all day. Great view of a small canyon with views of different wildlife.
A lot of attention was put into the coffee and tea stations….perfect way to start the day.
There’s a nice wine fridge for anything that you pick up while at the massive number of tasting rooms in this picturesque small town. Everything is easily walkable.
Plus the host is attentive to details and happy to make your stay the most enjoyable!
We will be back!
