About this farm stay rental
This former Hayloft barn has been lovingly converted into luxury accommodation to sleep 6. With an increase in group bookings over our multiple properties and feedback from guests, who love to 'be together but have their own spaces', we have designed The Hayloft with 'coming together' in mind. This is the place where you can easily come together for dining and lounging, with plenty of room and seating to enjoy each others' company in comfort, before retiring to either, one of the 3 ensuite bedrooms within The Hayloft or, one of the other 3 properties, a short 50 metre walk away.
Across the 4 properties we can accommodate 18 people in total. The Hayloft sleeps 6.
Upon entering The Hayloft, you will find plenty of cupboard space in the Utility room, for hanging coats and leaving boots and there is a toilet room for comfort, as well as a washing machine. Through the Utility, you come into the main ground floor, open-plan kitchen that leads to a double height dining and lounge area, with plenty of character throughout. We’ve kept exposed all of the original features such as brick columns and beams which have memories and tell a story.
With three triple bi-fold doors, leading out onto a spacious patio area, there is light a-plenty and in the summer this provides the perfect ‘indoor/outdoor’ space for living and dining al-fresco. We have installed underfloor heating downstairs, which is tiled throughout and keeps the whole barn warm and cosy. Upstairs, the heating is by radiator and heated towel rails in the bathrooms. For extra cosiness in the winter, there is a wood-burning stove because everyone loves watching a fire!
The views from the windows are across unspoiled farmland and out to the grassy lawns which are available for your use. Located at the end of a private drive, ‘peace and tranquility’ are the words most spoken by guests; come here to rest and restore.
The kitchen comes equipped with a large range oven, for cooking for numbers. There is everything you will need, including a dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave along with plenty of crockery and cutlery, pots, pans and dishes for your group.
The dining table can be set up to seat 6 or 12 and we have a second table for groups of 18 with all the seating you will require to host meals comfortably.
In the lounge area, there are two three seater sofas and an armchair, set around a coffee table and the wood-burning stove. On the end wall, there is a large LED TV for entertainment.
There is one bedroom downstairs with a double bed with luxurious 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bedding, built-in wardrobes, reading lamps and bedside tables. This bedroom has an ensuite wet room with toilet, vanity unit with an LED mirror, a walk-in shower and a heated towel rail.
Head up the stairs and you’ll find yourself on the beautiful oak gallery where a new window has been carefully positioned at eye line for a reading/relaxing chair.
At the top of the stairs, to the left, you’ll enter the second bedroom, a spacious twin room. The beds in this room can be zipped together to become a super king size bed. Another new window was inserted in the western gable end of the barn to give an outlook over the cart-shed pantile roof and out to the cattle grazing in the fields. The room is spacious and has a hanging rail, chest of drawers and leads to it’s own ensuite shower room, complete with toilet, a vanity unit with an LED mirror, walk-in shower, a heated towel rail and a velux window for extra light.
Turn right at the top of the stairs and walk along the gallery to the master bedroom, located above the kitchen and utility. In the master bedroom, there is a super-king bed which again can be unzipped to become a twin room. There is a glazed door with juliet balcony on the eastern gable end wall and an additional, original window facing south, so there is plenty of light and storage; wardrobes, chest of drawers, chairs and bedside tables. The master ensuite accommodates a freestanding bath as well as a walk-in shower, a toilet, vanity unit with LED mirror and a heated towel rail.
Free WIFI, luxurious bedding and towels are provided alongside cleaning provisions, a toilet roll in each bathroom, diswasher tablets, washing up liquid and a selection of cloths.
Well behaved dogs accepted by arrangement at £20 each dog. There is a dog bath on the eastern gable end wall and we strictly do not allow dogs upstairs or on the sofas.
