This was the loudest place we have ever stayed. Above a DJ-d bar with floor shaking bass & beside a dance club that couldn’t be drowned out with a noise machine on high. Drag racing on the street until 4 am, people drinking and partying on the street. Said “mini fridge’ but only ONE was avail to rent for your room. I only slept two hours a night for the four nights we were there. The room was great, comfortable bed, and the location was awesome.

5 stars for incredible customer service, as well as comfortable and unique rooms for groups. Steve and the rest of the front desk and cleaning teams went above and beyond to make our group's stay the best possible!
The Room: Three girlfriends and I spent five nights in a small room with two bunk beds while we were in town for a conference. We're too old and were working too much to stay in a hostel, but at the same time, we're not close enough to share queen or king beds in a traditional hotel, so this was a totally perfect solution. All four of us agreed that the mattresses and pillows were super comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. Water pressure was excellent. Luggage storage solutions were very efficient. The climate control unit was a bit loud, but the front desk staff worked with us to ameliorate it.
Customer Service: I left a necklace in the room and only realized it once I was already on the way out of town. While it's not worth much money, it was a gift from my mom and has been my favorite necklace to wear daily for the past few years, and the prospect of losing it was quite distressing. I messaged Sonder through the app, and a day or two later, they let me know that they'd found it. We worked together over email on a solution -- I bought and emailed them a UPS label, and they dropped it off at the UPS store about a week later. I am so, so grateful to Steve and the top-notch team at this hotel!

It was a great place to stay in general.
Good location, quietness, comfortable.

We booked a 4 double bed room at The Found, expecting a hotel experience, but what we got was more like a hostel—definitely not what we signed up for.
First off, the room was not clean, which was disappointing for a place that markets itself as a hotel. The beds were much smaller than standard doubles, making it uncomfortable for two people to share. To make matters worse, the toilet had a persistent bad smell, even when not in use, and the AC made loud noises that made it difficult to sleep.
What really stood out was the lack of staff. We needed an extra blanket and had no idea where to find one since there was no one around to ask. It’s frustrating to book a place expecting hotel-level service, only to discover there’s none at all.
This place should not call itself a hotel—it’s a hostel at best, and a poor one at that. I would not recommend staying here if you’re expecting anything close to a proper hotel experience.

Charming hotel room in a walkable area with several nearby food and transportation options. If you’re a light sleeper, the street noise at night might be a problem for you, but I enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again

Very easy check-in, check-out. Was good for a one night trip to Chicago.

This place is no frills, basically a bed and a bathroom. We left early after one miserable night. We were traveling with our child and found that the walls are paper thin, street racers and motorcycles did donuts in front of our window with drunk people yelling and urinating on the sidewalk until 4am. There were several other small things we could have overlooked - no extra towels but instead a stack of bathmats, housekeeping no showed, squealing A/C unit, blinky tv remote, a general feeling of less than spotless, etc - but when we called the help line the next morning (because that’s the only option to speak to a human) and asked to potentially move to a different room, the rep was rude and told us essentially it’s all part of the experience. We booked elsewhere and left 2 days early. Customer service emailed after we checked out offering a 20% discount for next time (ha!) or $100 refund.
I never write bad reviews, but this was a costly and unpleasant experience. Just be warned, there are hundreds of other places nearby that are much nicer and around the same rate. We won’t make this mistake again.

We booked the Found hotel. Received notice that our room would not be available due to maintenance issues. We were upgraded to another Sonder property that is apartment style. Great place. We loved it.

I was there for meetings so it did ok, but during the weekend the entire building was shaking from the music below and I was on the 4th floor (earplugs don't stop the walls from shaking, btw). No coffee pot, or fridge, fyi. Bathroom sink plug was broken (stuck closed). AC unit had an annoying squeal. There's a window but it just opens up to corrugated metal siding and a tiny bit of daylight. If you are a light sleeper or want to hang out in the room much, not highly recommended. If you just need a place to sleep and don't mind the walls shaking, it does the job.

I really like the concept of what they were trying to do with this place, but while it tried to be speed, innovative, and modern, it was subpar to most hotel chains in the areas of cleanliness, communication, and helpfulness. My room linens were dirty with stains on them. Hair was in the crevices all around the top and bottom bunks. The toilet paper rack was just hanging there, dislodged from the wall. And then, with all of this, there is no one on site to assist you with these problems. I called once during my stay for help, was told I would hear back from someone taking care of my problem, and never heard back from anyone. Cool concept, poor execution.

Keycode entry is complicated to use. They don't have regular staff in lobby so they have a keypad entry to get in. The thing is, there are 3 doors that need to be opened (one for the outside door, another for the lobby entrance, another for your room). The area is very noisy, with people in the street yelling at early hours of the day. Our room did not have a small fridge, nor did it have kleenex. All in all, this is an average hotel that needs to be revamped.

The hotel seemed good at first. After the second night I was attached by bed bugs. When asked for assistance or compensation for a new room or medical bills, I was ignored and passed around staff. Do not stay here.

Although this property was clean, relatively safe and a convienent location to our event, the hotel had a few issues. There was a sink stopper problem (they did resolve), the elevator was out of order, there were no chairs/seating in the room and loud a/c unit. On the flip side, I loved the security of codes to enter each area, the luggage storage, and the asthetic.

I loved my stay at Found Chicago! The logistical communication was easy to understand and implement, and I liked that it was contactless. It was nice to use my PIN code for room entrance instead of keeping track of a key. The WiFi was sufficient for remote meetings on my laptop. And all of the amenities (lobby access, luggage locker, and printer) were convenient and easy to use. I highly recommend this hotel, and I'll plan to stay here again.

Despite messaging three times to request extra bedding and being told it would be there, it was not. Thankfully, the person at the front desk was able to retrieve some from the basement.
When I checked in there was a hair ball in the toilet, a crumpled wash cloth by the sink and crumbs under one of the pillows.

above a bar/club so it was extremely loud all through the nighy

The key pad to get in and out of building was touchy and didn’t work well. The shower door slipped its hinges and wouldn’t open without hitting the toilet. No lid on toilet. Bar below played loud club music and could be heard on third floor.

This hotel is a very expensive HOSTEL. CAUTION to anyone who books that wants a nice place to stay in Chicago.
The rooms are so small with no amenities. The rooms were dusty and not as clean as I would like. Only saving grace was the bathroom. I’ve stayed at other Sonders which have been amazing, but don’t be fooled, this one is completely different. I was shocked when I realised I’d spent 1.5K to stay in a box room with bunk beds. It’s attached to a very loud bar/club so if you’re put on the lower floors you won’t be getting any sleep until the early hours.
I raised an issue with Sonder as when I booked this room (through Expedia) it said there was a fridge and desk. Obviously these things were not in the room. This hotel is a self check in hotel so if you have a problem slll correspondence is through the app. All staff were extremely unhelpful and only tried to resolve the issue once I disputed the card charge. Worst service ever and just an awful hotel at an expensive price

I enjoyed the fact that everything was close. The hotel was cleaned but I never saw a personal member. The code to enter didn't work and people inside had to help fellow clients to enter.

I booked a bunk room in Found Chicago for my daughter and I. We'd stayed in a Sonder property before in Miami and really liked it so I expected a little better. Firstly, the room was ridiculously small. There was no space for anything. It looked a lot larger in the photos. We hardly had spacer for our suitcases, there was a stand with some hangers that was in front of the only mirror. The room was super dusty, and the window wouldn't open. I contacted Sonder to ask how to get the window open. They finally got back to me and strongly suggested that I turn the thermostat to 'cooling'. Which didn't get rid of the dust. I found a thong in the corner of the room that wasn't cleaned up and must have belonged to a previous guest. Disgusting. The bathroom was almost as big as the room (not very, but fine). The toilet didn't have a seat cover. There were no shelves in the shower for our things. We had to place facewash on the shower floor. We had limited towels. I'm so disappointed with this stay. We referred to the room as 'stuffy closet' and it wasn't cheap by any means. Location was, however, central and the bunk beds were actually comfortable.

This is a GREAT example of an art deco building restored the right way.

This hotel was extremely okay. This was my first time at one of these self check in hotels, very odd experience. It’s a mostly clean hotel, there sure are a lot of oddities to it though. Very tiny living space, no regular room cleanings, no drinking water, fridge or microwave. There were several occasions where I got to my hotel around 4 AM and I legit couldn’t get into the hotel; had to call customer service to give me a working code since mine was on the fritz. The walls are thin and you can hear people walking by during all hours of the day. I’ve been told people that are unlucky enough to get rooms on the lower floors had issues with the loud music coming from the bar in the building as well so be warned about that. Aside from all that, the stay here was fine. It’s in a great location, but after staying here a little under two weeks, that’s my only positive walk away from the experience. I definitely don’t feel like the experience I had here was worth the amount I paid, you can definitely find cheaper places to stay around the city or up north.

Very close to public transportation and our room was a good size!

I’m on the fence about the idea of never having to interact with an actual hotel staff. Everything was electronic, I both liked it and found it weird. Would do again though.

We regret booking with them for a vacation. There were no windows for the room and we felt disconnected from the outside world. The window you see on this app is fake. When I called them, they said it's just how it is & We have to pay extra to transfer to other rooms. No sunlight, no refrigerator, no front desk person, no slippers, no toothbrush, no toothpaste, no office desk was provided for the studio room. The room is so small and nothing alike as pictures. it was a shared kitchen and shared things for everyone in the building. this place might me okay for long-term stays. Not a relaxing experience for a vacation.

I liked the fact that it is close to everything. It’s very easy to walk downtown, the Navy Pier and the museums. The neighborhood has different restaurants, convenient stores and bars.
Great location, accessible rate!

We love the private entrance. At first I was confussed about the location. Once we inside mafe sense. My daughter loved it.

I only got to be there for about 6 hours. I had the reservations through up to day. I had to leave because of an family emergency. I couldnt get a refund for even a day. Terribly dispointed. The pricing was great but if I see one of your hotels available,I will not be staying there. I also will never suggest it as a place to stay if I am asked. Also you didnt even have anyone there at the front desk. The kitchenette was a disapointment. Not even a snack or soda machine. Assuming there is no breakfast because it is not staffed.

I wish mouthwash was an included amenity and readily available for those staying. Otherwise this is a surprisingly quiet and insulated building with a bar that is quite loud and lively on the weekends. Would definitely consider staying here again because of the convenience of the location from Amtrak, bus lines and 2 different colored train lines.

and multiple reviews of bedbugs with no solution to either.

There is no front desk.. it's a remote front desk may be other side of planet and have no clue about this property. Water shut down on. Check out day. Horrible experience on check in and check out

Clean, good overall experience. This is a pretty pared down hotel experience. I wish I had paid closer attention to the fact that it was a queen bed. There’s just no extras. I could have used a mini fridge or at least an ice maker for cold drinks. We’ve stayed at a few Sonder locations, this was the simplest design.

The rooms are nice but the bar downstairs plays music loudly all nights of the week.
There was also a homeless guy living inside the front door most nights. So the entryway smelt like his bodily fluids 24/7.
There was also something vibrating of and like a very strong phone vibration every 30 seconds- 5 minutes.
I had a few cocktails every night to help with all the noises going on.
But the room was very clean and comfortable- if you are deaf.

I am covered in bed bug bites and am probably going to have to get ride of all my luggage, clothing, and more. I had life needed medication that needed to be refrigerated and NO ONE could come up with viable solutions - no mini fridge, I’d have to pay to move rooms, go somewhere else. The bedding was so rough and uncomfortable. The heating didn’t work. The bathroom was absolutely freezing. There was light on the AC/Heater that I couldn’t reach or cover and didn’t allow for good sleep and kept me up all night. It also made a sound every few minutes that sounded like a vibrating text message that kept me up. Most of the charging stations in my room didn’t work.
