This home's backyard setting is a lovely retreat like setting that allows you to unwind, relax, read, paint or gather together comfortably. Great pool! Great living room for tv watching on downtime. The house does have what you need, not lacking for anything in the kitchen. The stairs are steep as stated. It's a slow trek up with bad hips or knees and impossible for my 92 yr old mother to go up to use the shower. Only a half bath on the first floor so rent accordingly. The house is historical so can be musty especially on humid days. Missed not being able to open a window upstairs when we didn't want the air conditioner on. In a great location, close to Mystic attractions and restaurants. Overall, a nice place to rent.

Great house and location.

We (6 adults, one toddler) visited this historic home on the Mystic river and had an incredible time! The home is perfect for those who want to hang around cooking and catching up with each other in a charming, cozy, and peaceful country-side home.
The kitchen is stocked with every tool you could ever need, and if you can't find one, the hosts are extremely responsive.
The backyard amenities are incredible, especially coming from NYC. The pool was lovely, clean and refreshing, there's a fire pit with ample seating, and a relaxing spot to watch the Mystic River flow by.
The bedrooms were comfortable and offered lots of historic charm. The house is very close to Olde Mistick Village and a short drive to Downtown Mystic.
I would absolutely recommend staying here. I'd love to visit again someday when I want to escape the city heat and noise and relax in peaceful charming space by the pool!

We were concerned about the very steep winding staircase to the 2nd floor...I do not suggest it for someone with difficulty in climbing such a staircase. Our accomodations were very comfortable and it was easy to have our concerns answered with a call to the representatives. We were very close to all the attractions and restaurants that we wanted to visit.

We loved staying in this cozy, historic home! We were traveling with 4 adults and a toddler, there was plenty of room for everyone including a little playroom ideal for our pack n play. The backyard is an amazing bonus too. It’s important to know someone with even mild mobility problems may not be comfortable on the stairs, but there’s a bedroom downstairs for that. Perfect location for exploring all around the Mystic area, can’t wait to return!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The home was very quaint, and in a great location. The grounds and setting were gorgeous. We could not find a wine opener. Otherwise, the kitchen was fully stocked. Also, could not locate an iron or a hairdryer. Otherwise the accommodations were great. The location was convenient to all of the stops that we wanted to make during our trip. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your beautiful home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only reason I didn't give it 5-stars was the check-in process. The map took us to a different part of town and a different house. After a 7-hour car ride, it was a little frustrating. That said, the stay was very relaxing, the hosts were very communicative, and the house was beautiful. We had a great time and I highly recommend this property!

Absolutely pristine historic, yet fully modernized 1797 colonial, fully equipped kitchen… immaculate ! With fabulous backyard … pool, patio and river…. This home didn’t miss a beat. Although it rained for most of our stay, we enjoyed everything the area had to offer. Jena and Tony, our property managers, were on spot, attentive and thorough…. a great family get away!

The location was nice. The house is old and historic - the extra steep and stairs were tricky but that comes with the territory. The pool was nice and the backyard was cozy. The room and window unit ACs were sufficient to cool the house.
Weirdly we were apparently expected to bring our own toilet paper. There was only one partially used roll in each bathroom. There were 5 women staying 2 nights in a house advertised for 6 people. Not providing sufficient toilet paper seems a little ridiculous for a home that costs $1,000 a night to rent after fees. We were also expected to water the plants on the deck which seemed strange for a Vrbo rental.
Other than toilet paper and cleaner for the counters, the house was well stock. Aside from some cobwebs it was decently clean.

Beautiful property. Close to lots of interesting historical places, great restaurants and shopping. Stairs are a little steep for older people but there is a bedroom on the main floor. Pool was nice and warm. We had a little problem with bees near the pool but left a note for the owners. Would highly recommend this property!
