About this house rental
"The Cabin", as this house if affectionately referred to as, was fully renovated in 2016, and is directly on the eastern shoreline of beautiful Arbutus Lake in Traverse City! The Cabin sleeps 8 people in beds from May-September, and 6 guests in the colder months, when the bunkhouse plumbing needs to be winterized. In the winter, AWD or 4X4 vehicles are required to access the property.
The Cabin, a near-historic property between the pristine shores of clear Arbutus Lake as well as the small private naturalized Perch Lake, was preserved in January 2016 with careful modern interior updates that maintain the feel of a family lakefront, with natural materials and tones throughout, while giving the comforts of conditioned-air and modern electronics and sound.
It has three bedrooms (1 King, 2 Queens) and three bathrooms. The Master Bedroom features a King bed with adjoining bathroom and a private view of the sunrise over Perch Lake. The Lakeside bedroom features Arbutus Lake views for both its Queen and Twin beds. The Third "bedroom" is a bunk house only steps from the main house. The bunk house features a queen bed below, with lofted twin bed above as well as a bathroom with a shower. There is also a retro arcade hut, blissfully detached from the main house. As a bonus, back in the main house, the four-season room offers a Twin Murphy Bed, a fireplace, and a stunning sunset view of Arbutus Lake. The four-season room can be made private with a sliding barn-door and blinds on the windows.
The house has a Sonos Sound system, 4 cable TV's, Blu Ray player, Smart TV and wifi internet. All new mattresses as well as a new leather couch, two reclining lounge chairs and side chairs.
The kitchen includes Kitchenaid appliances, with a large stainless fridge perfect for the weeks-long stay. There is a beautiful kitchen island with three bar stools, as well as a large farm table next to a small gas fireplace. The kitchen flows well for the lakefront summer stays, as well as being a warm and inviting space during winter stays. Fireside cup of cocoa? Indeed.
Landscaping improvements include sandy beachfront, a private fire pit and a private dock that allows for boats to be tied up to it. The Cabin will have exclusive access to 2 kayaks and 2 SUP boards. The beach and water access are very nice, with no rocks and nice sand.
Come enjoy the many benefits of this all sports inland lake where the 395 acres are swimmable from May until October, the fishing is plentiful and the conditions are perfect for many water sports including kayaking, stand up paddle-boarding, water skiing and tubing, all while being minutes away from Traverse City’s restaurants, shops, wineries, golf and more. On-site tri-toon rental is available.
This location is adjacent to The Brown Bridge Quiet Area which offers miles of hiking trails. Like to snowmobile? Leave right from the property and access Boardman Valley Trail System's 81 miles of trails! Boardman River is also within 3 miles, a great place to do river tubing, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. We are only 7 mi. from Vasa Single Track, a great Mountain Bike trail system. In addition, the Vasa is home to 25 km of groomed cross country trails. Mount Holiday is only 15 minutes away, a local downhill ski hill that also offers snow tubing and zip lining with a view of it all from a warm bar-and-grill. Crystal Mountain Ski Resort is only 30 miles away – a modern, full amenity ski resort.
This setting is perfect for relaxing lakefront vacationing away from the hustle of town, but be sure to leave time for a short 15 minute drive to the city. Traverse City is well known for its lakefront, with countless shops and restaurants. The greater Traverse City Area is nationally recognized for Old Mission Peninsula and the Leelanau Peninsula's many wineries, as well as the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park.
This rental is immediately adjacent to the well established Lakemore Retreat. While we are owed separately, our properties are cooperative with each other, and work well to rent in unison.

We had a great stay at the cabin on Arbutus Lake. Cabin is well appointed, very clean and has everything you need to start your vacation. Use of paddle birds and kayaks is a plus!

Wow what a serene place! Coffee in the morning overlooking the lake! Firepit in the evening (with wine!)

Our family stayed at The Cabin for the Thanksgiving holiday and loved it! The description was spot on. Since we were there in early winter it was cozy space to enjoy a hot cup of coffee and tea while the kids played in the fenced in front yard, game room and explored the natrual areas at the lakefronts edges. The four-seasons porch was also a perfect place on the rainy day for the kids to play with the collection of quite toys. The kitchen was also stocked with the kitchen equipment I needed to cook. Highly recommend and plan on coming back when there is snow!

The cabin was well furnished with a great view of the lake. We enjoyed having the fireplaces on the days of colder weather. The location was great for exploring Traverse City, Mission Peninsula, Sleeping Bear Dunes, etc. Fall foliage was at its peak which added to the visit.

We stayed at the Lakemore Retreat (cabin) for 5 days and had a wonderful time. Our 12 & 10 year old grandchildren slept in the bunkhouse. They were a little hesitant at first at it sits about 20 yards from the main cabin but decided to give it a try and gave it a thumbs up. Tricia was always In touch and answered any questions we had promptly. The accommodations were exceptional. Everything was very clean. An added bonus was having a pantry off the kitchen. It was nice to have clean counters and not have boxes laying around.

The listing describes this property perfectly. I couldn't have been happier. Communication with the owners was easy and they were very informative. There is more then enough space for people to enjoy a relaxing lake vacation with cozy family time yet not being on top of each other for every moment. The paved walkway make it easy for all ages to access the fire pit and the lake. I was not concerned about older members of our family having difficulty. The kitchen is well stocked with the necessities and very organized. This was exactly what we needed and we can't wait to come back!

Very nice place on the lake. Beautiful view. Nice and quiet area. If you want to venture into the city, it is not far but hard to get ubers. Other than that it was a fantastic location. It was great that kayaks and hot tubs were on the property. Very relaxing stay.

This property was perfect for our family of 4 adults, 2 teens and an almost 2 year old. The teenage boys loved the bunkhouse, swimming, tubing on the lake, fishing off the dock and the arcade room! The beach is small but perfect for little ones. We all enjoyed paddle boarding, kayaking, boating and swimming during the day and campfires at night, especially the s’mores! The sunsets were lovely. There was very little boat traffic on the lake which made swimming and tubing safe. The cabin was well equipped with all the necessary kitchen utensils, toys for children, games for adults and comfortable beds for all. It is a short drive into Traverse City. Tricia and her staff were pleasant and attentive. I highly recommend Lakemore Retreat!!

My family and I had a fantastic time at the Lakemore Cabin in early June! The cabin was exactly as advertised - clean, beautiful, and well stocked for a summer vacation. The properties are modern and comfortable while maintaining a rustic charm. The lake is clean and peaceful, perfect for swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. Tricia and her staff were always readily available to check in on us and answer any questions. Our week at Lakemore exceeded every single expectation and fulfilled exactly what we wanted: a perfect, peaceful, and memorable Michigan lake vacation. We will absolutely be back and are already counting down the days until next summer.
