About this cottage rental
Meisel House is named after Canadian Political Scientist John Meisel, and artist Murie Meisel,
who had the house designed by architect Wilf Sorensen in the late 60s. The house was originally named Colimaison in reference to its beautiful round, swirling design, like that of a snail's shell. It sits atop a lovely outcrop of precambrian shield in Central Frontenac, overlooking a small private
lake and is surrounded by 130 acres of conservation land.
The house boasts 4 bedrooms, two lofts, two bathrooms, two screened in porches, as well as a number of other outdoor spaces in which to gather, including a cedar dock, gas BBQ and wood-burning sauna.
The master has a king bed and two other bedrooms have single beds which can be kept apart or brought together for co-sleeping. The final room has two sets of bunk beds for a total of 4 in that room. One loft holds a double sofa bed and the other is above the master and has a crib.
It is an incredibly unique and beautiful space!

We had the most special time, the setting is just beautiful and the house so quirky, interesting and well equipped. We swam, fished, paddled and swam some more. Secluded and peaceful, we would return tomorrow if we could.
The process of renting from Clare was easy and the information provided was helpful and precise.
