My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. On one hand, the road leading to the hotel was not clearly marked and in poor condition, making the arrival less pleasant. Fortunately, the room itself was clean and adequately furnished, which was a relief.
However, the placement of our room next to the restaurant and opposite the kitchen significantly impacted our experience. The hotel organized a loud party that lasted until 1:30 am right next to our room. This situation led to a sleepless night for us, which was not only uncomfortable but also unacceptable considering that we had paid for a place to rest.
It is imperative that the hotel considers the comfort and rest of all its guests, especially when organizing noisy events. Renting a room next to a party venue without prior warning to the guests is a lack of consideration. This experience left us exhausted and disappointed, and I hope the hotel will take steps to prevent such situations in the future.

Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in and see the views over the surroundings. Staff was extremely hospitable and there for every need of mine. They really went the extra mile to help us enjoying our stay to the fullest.

Great location and fantastic room with an incredible view. The staff were very helpful too.
The breakfast was average.

The staff are a gem - especially the older gentleman who works at the restaurant! He was darling and very helpful and made us feel very welcome and had great wine recommendations. When we got lost on the way to the hotel due to some road construction, one of the hotel staff members actually drove down to find us with his motorcycle and led us in our car to the hotel himself - which was so kind! We also had a nice staff member help us with our luggage which we really appreciated.
The hotel is perched on a beautiful outcropping of cliff and the views are astounding. They have decorated nicely with lovely classic wooden furniture and beautiful ceilings. The rooms are very spacious. The location is great - you can walk right into the area of town with the shops, and easily to the castle and the Cold War bunker and the other fun locations.
The restaurant has a great selection of Albanian wine! I found the food a bit heavy but it was very good and I think that is traditional Albanian food.
This is silly but I was hoping they might have incorporated more traditional Albanian textiles into the room, since they are so lovely, and I think they were in one of the photos.

Nice hotel with great views and ideal location in the old town below the castle.
Average breakfast. Conversely, we had dinner at the hotel which was very enjoyable.
We had problems getting to and from the hotel. It was impossible to get reliable information about the bus schedule for the next leg of our travels, and we ended up being dropped in the middle of nowhere by a taxi driver who could speak no English, to catch a bus en route from tirana to sarande. The hotel staff proved incapable of helping us with this.

I definitely enjoyed staying in hotel Kodra. would definitely recommend it to everyone visiting Gjirokaster.
the breakfast felt very homey & was super nice.
the hotel is in the village so no cars could access that area, but they were nice enough to meet us next to our car & help with the luggage.
nothing bad

We stayed at the suite with our toddler and loved the experience. The rooms were beautiful, in Ottoman style with a fireplace and carved wooden ceilings. The view from the room was amazing: you could see the entire valley AND most of the famous stone mansions. The bed was super comfortable! The hotel has a good restaurant also with fantastic view. Location is great - right at the old bazar and steps away from the staircase to the castle. Parking required help from the hotel staff, mostly because all access roads were being repaired when we visited. So a staff member walked to our car and showed us the way up the hill. Overall, a wonderful stay and a great value for money.
